We actually spent an evening in the garden with all of my kids. All 4 of them, 5 of them including Birdie. It was strange not having a million kids running over - or having my kids running to their houses. I'm hoping a fence will help make lots of family-garden evenings happen this summer!
And the first pic of Indie..... I cant even. Who is that beautiful girl? My Indie is growing up!
Our chicken coop was looking pretty darn sad. Its wood was getting old and faded, the coop still had covers over the windows for the winter. It was just needing a little attention before planting season gets here. So yesterday it was warm-ish so Sailyr and I went out and touched it up a bit.
We stained the wood on the pen and then painted the black trim on the coop white. I think it cleaned it up quite a bit.
She looks much better, and she will look even better when we get some flowers and plants in her flower box and hanging in baskets. I do love this little old Chicken coop that Devin built me.
They have all done similar things to this - but yet right when they get home from school they start bickering and each go separate ways to play with friends.
I was super frustrated about this last week. Its like they want to be best friends with each other, but they have forgotten how. So I made them pick a day - they decided on Mondays. And we declared Mondays as "no friend days".
Last Monday was our first - but it worked perfectly. They were a little tired/grumpy right after school. But soon they were playing and giggling.
We have been out in the garden, cleaning out flower beds. Birdie of course is right there with us - helping us dig. She actually likes to steal Willow's crackers and bury them in the flower beds.

And this is the funniest thing, Birdie has started sitting on the front porch swing. She naps out there all the time. Its the cutest thing seeing a little puppy swinging on the porch swing.
We also bought a pregnant bunny from the Jenkins. Indie named her Bubblegum. I bought her because baby bunnies are so much fun for my kids to play with. We will probably just sell them all off this summer - but I have to let my kids play with baby bunnies while they are little. :)
Finley's cute friend, Bentley, invited her over to ride horses last week.
When we went over to pick her up they let Indie ride for a minute too. It was so kind of them to spend the evening letting Finley ride. And she had so much fun!
also we got one entire side of our fence finished! It looks so so good! Im thinking it should be mostly finished this weekend.
Funny little Willow - She is keeping us laughing.
She is so close to walking. So close. She will stand up and take one step, and look around to make sure we were all looking. I bet she is walking in a couple of weeks. Its probably a good thing, she is getting tired of crawling around.
She says "hi" all the time and to everyone. When I walk into her room in the morning she says "Hi" to me, when we walk out and see Devin in the kitchen she says "hi" to him. When the girls walk in she shays "Hi!" to them. :)
She also has learned to say "mmmmmh mmmm" I dont know how to write it out. But not the "mmmmh mmmm" as in yes - but the "mmmmh mmmm" as in No. The kids think it is hilarious because they can ask her questions and she answers every single one with "mmmmmh mmmm" (no).
Do you love Finley? "mmmmh-mmmmm"
Are you hungry? "mmmmmh - mmmmm"
Do you like mommy? "mmmmmh-mmmmm"
This keeps the kids entertained.
We also started cleaning out all the flower boxes in the garden.
Today Indie said to me,
"Mom, Willow's life has had a turn around"
Me ; "a turn around? How?" (also wondering to myself how she knows the phrase "a turn around")
Indie: "Because she used to be the cutest in the family until our puppy got here - and now they the puppy is the cutest. So her life really turned around"
Me; (trying not to laugh) "well I still think Willow is the cutest"
Indie: "me too. But daddy and sailyr and fin think birdie is the cutest."
