We have 2 days left in tonopah.
Almost everything is packed.
Today I am going to attack the kitchen.
And Sailyr's room.
Then I just need to clean and we will be on our way to Idaho!
I wont be able to blog until we get Internet in the new house.
So this might be my last post for a week or so.
Until I have pictures of green grass to show you....
I leave you with more beach pictures.

the beach.

We had so much fun on our quick trip to the beach.  It was a lot of driving, but the day we spent at the beach was worth it!

At first Sailyr was not so sure about this place, but all we had to do was show her the sand and it was a done deal.

We got to the beach around 10 and it was still kinda cold, but around noon the sun came out and it started warming up.  I took Sailyr's clothes off to put her in her cute swim suit we just bought.  But my naked baby on the beach was just too cute, and I thought to myself "when will she ever get away with being able to be naked on a beach again?"

So naked she stayed.

She found some sea shells.

And thought they were shoes.  The words "shells" and "shoes" must sound enough alike.  Cause she kept sitting down and trying to put them on her feet.

Ok, get ready.  Next is the cutest picture. Ever.

Sailyr loved the sand!  I mean LOVED it! She just sat and played in it forever, I even watched her stick her tongue out and lick it right off the beach.  But for a while she just layed down in it and rolled around. From her tummy to her back, kicking her legs and throwing it in the air.  She was in heaven.
I happened to capture this picture while she was in her own little world.

By the time we got back to the hotel Sailyr was just covered in sand.  It was in her diaper, in her hair, in her nose.  It was everywhere.  I am sure I am going to have to dump a sand box out of her car seat.  But really, all the mess and the challenge of changing diapers in the sand for a day was nothing compared to how much fun we had!

I have millions of pictures from this day, just too many to share in one post.

And I leave you with our little baby!

We decided to pay $25 and go to one of those walk in ultrasound places to find out the gender of our baby.

And.....

We get to have another baby girl!!

Isn't she cute!?!?!

I was so sure it was a boy, just because my pregnancy had been so different.  But I am Crazy Excited for Sailyr to have a sister that will be so close in age to her!!!

I am a hoarder of loose change.
If you come into my house and empty your pockets, your loose change will be taken.
This happens to Devin on a daily basis.

He is constantly annoyed with me when he wants quarters to go wash his truck, and I calmly say, "I don't have any quarters".

But really every coin that enters my house I am secretly guarding.

Last weekend while packing (its in full force) I decided to lug my stash into the living room and count it up!  Last time I was hoarding change I had enough for most of the spending money while in Europe.

We dumped it out on the living room floor, and started sorting and counting.
Occasionally Sailyr would stop what she was doing and come swim through our big pile of change.

After counting it up, we decided we are off for the weekend...
So sit on the beach in sunny California.
Its very irresponsible of us to leave town for vacation while we have so much to do!
But good heck, Devin does not turn 28 everyday!
So we must ring this 28th year of his life in with a BANG!
I wont be posting the rest of the week.

But the camera will be getting a work out.
Believe me.

We have had a sick baby for the past few days.  She started getting a temp Monday afternoon, and when I got the thermometer out to see how high it actually was, it was at 102.3.  I figured she must be teething.  Tuesday night her temp was at 102.6, so I started calling around, I was doubting it was her teeth.  Plus she had not eaten or drank anything in almost 24 hours, so the fact that she might be dehydrated was scaring me.That night she woke up about 7 times, she would fall back to sleep fast, just could not stay asleep.  The next morning I took her into our hospital here in Tonopah, they looked in her ears and back of her mouth and said it all looked fine.  But the Dr. told me that they should not have fevers above 100 when they are teething.  So he gave us some antibiotics to take for 4 days.

Here is what we did for 3 days, Sailyr sat on my lap and dozed.  She was so grumpy, and so clingy to me.  She would not sleep well in her crib, only on my lap.  Which is not normal for this little kid-o.

Well its our 3rd day on antibiotics and fever is down, and she is eating again!
But she is now addicted to that thumb.  It used to only be used when she was really tired, right before she would go to sleep.  Now she sucks it all day long.

little stinker.

15 and a half months old.

Sailyr is turning into the sweetest little girl.  She is getting taller and is talking more and more every day.  The other night she started singing patty cakes with us.  She has always been good at doing the clapping, rolling, and tossing by herself, which is so cute.  But the other night she went around the house singing "oooooool-it, ooooooool-it" (roll it, roll it) in a deep long voice.
Then "Ooooooooosssss innnnnn aaaaaaaaa" (toss it in the air) in a high little voice.
So funny, and so so cute!

She also says the word 'Pretty', although it sounds a lot like "dee dee" which is how she says blankie and sippy.  But she loves to put on her pretty necklace and brush her pretty hair.

She is starting to carry around her doll and stuffed animals more.  She does not really play with them yet, but she carries them to us.  And will give them hugs and kisses.  When you ask her to go get her doll, she will go get the doll.

She has always been able to say mama & dada, but I think she just realized that I am mama.  I always say things like "Dada's home!" or "There's Dada", so she knew who he was.  But I guess she never really realized that I am mama.  Well, she is starting to figure it out, the other day I had just put her in her highchair with her lunch.  I walked back in the other room to talk to dev about something and I hear this loud "MMAAAAAAA,  MAAAAAAA"  she is yelling it in this loud scratchy voice.  So I walk in and say "Whaaaaaaat?"  And she just looks at me and starts laughing.  She did this a few times, and now when she wakes up from her naps all I hear is "MAAAAAAA".

Also when we were out at the Easter Lunch with our friends, Sailyr had just woke up from her nap and was sitting on my lap eating lunch.  I was sitting by our friends at the picnic table and Devin was across the way.  Sailyr kept looking at Dustin, who had a hat and sunglasses on, just like Devin does.  She kept saying in the littlest voice, "da?"  Once I finally realized that she was looking at Dustin and wondering if that was her dad.  I told her "No that's Dustin, look over there, that's Daddy." I pointed towards Devin.  Her eyes caught sight of him and she got the biggest smile on her face and said so sweetly "HIIIIIII".

These little stories might be silly to anyone else reading, but they are just the little things about my sweet Sailyr that I never want to forget.
She is just so little, and innocent right now.  Breaks my heart that this wonderful little time is slipping by so fast.

We had a great Easter weekend!  On Sunday we went out to Peavine with a few friends and dutch oven ed dinner.  The weather was about perfect, not too hot, not too cold.  Sailyr had fun playing with her friends and playing in the dirt.

After we ate, the Easter Bunny Came!!  Here are a few pictures of Sailyr gathering her eggs and putting them in her basket.  That Easter bunny is smart, he filled her eggs with her favorite snack - Gerber crackers!!  It was fun to get out of the house and enjoy (maybe our last) weekend with friends here in Tonopah.  It was a very quiet, low stress, lazy Easter.

And I wanted to get some Easter cards sent out to Grandma's.  So here are a few cute Easter Pictures from that shoot!  You cant even tell her face was still scratched up... Ahh, the magic of Photoshop!!

Easter is so much more fun with a kid around!
Although I did my best to remember the true meaning, and keep the spirit with us.
But the sight of brightly colored Easter Eggs laying in an open meadow is so fun!

Today I am just at peace with life.  Which is a good feeling, I think it may have to do with it being Easter.  We have so much going on, and I should be pulling my hair out.... but I'm not.  Actually not even close.

I took a picture of out or back porch today, with Lucy laying in the dead old garden.  It may not be much to look at, but one day I might miss this.

I know I am supposed to be packing things into boxes, but I could not help but get the Easter decorations out.  I cried the entire time I was unwrapping them from paper and setting them on the counter.  Because I realized that Devin's mom gave me every single decoration.  Which was just tugging at my heart that someone could be so sweet to me. Then I texted her and told her thankyou, I'm sure she thinks I'm crazy.

Not a very good belly pic, but its what I see when I look down.
and p.s. - One of the top ten Best things about being pregnant, is wearing your husbands shirts.
Nothing better.

And our bulbs that Devin and I planted while Huge-ly pregnant with Sailyr are coming out!  I hope that we get to see at least one bloom before we leave.  My annuals are one of the most heart breaking things to leave behind,  I know I can plant more... but I look forward to them each spring and summer.  Do you think I can dig one of these and re-locate them?

little one is healing nicely.  The only scab left is the one in her hair.

And I just finished reading this book...  Such a great book for any mother.  To tell you the truth I cried the entire last half.  And had the worst head ache all evening long from all the tears. It was so bad that I could not even watch American Idol last night, so I layed my head on Devins shoulder and shut my eyes.  And listened to 1/2 American idol, 1/2 Devin's heart beating... until I fell asleep.

Happy Easter Weekend!

We went in Monday night to get Sailyr's stitches out, we still had to hold her down.  But at least they are out now and we can get on with life.  Everything is healing really well, everyday her cuts get smaller and smaller.

We never realized how attached to her blankie she is until Monday night.  Although I guess I did know, considering in the morning when I go get her out of her crib she death grips her blankie so that it wont get left behind.  Then all day long, in between playing she goes and rubs her face in it and sucks her thumb.
Anyway, after we had got her stitches out Devin was holding her and she was screaming/crying.  Like the loud, crazy scream/cry... with huge tears and gasping for breath.  She shouted "DEE DEE, DEE DEE, DEE DEE" in a high pitched squeal. (sailyr talk for " BLANKIE, BLANKIE, BLANKIE").
So right away I handed her the blankie, and she held it to her face and just said over and over in the saddest little voice, "deeeee deeee, (gasping for breath), deeee deeee, (cryyyyy), dee deeeeeeee."  It was so sad and a little pathetic, but Devin and I could not help but laugh.  Good thing we had her "dee dee" there this time.

"Dee dee" can also mean sippy, as in her sippy cup.  She is getting better at saying it with a "P" sound now, sounds more like "DeePee".  But its pretty easy to decide which one she wants, she does sign language for milk while saying "dee dee" if its her sippy.

And moving news, we sold our house!!!!!!!! (well, more or less) and the snow cone shack!!!!!!!!! I think we have a rental home in Idaho, just need to call and make sure of dates. The house we want wont be ready until 5 days after Devin has to report for work. So we might be living in a motel for a week or so, but not a big deal.  This is my last week of teaching Seminary (bitter sweet).  I have said goodbye to all my remaining hair clients (Defiantly not fun, I loved them... all 5 of them :)  And the Dance studio is already rented out to someone else....

Our roots in Tonopah are slowly being uprooted...

Oh yeah! And I think I am in my second trimester! I think I am 15 weeks! Is it bad I have lost count?  With Sailyr I knew exactly how far along I was... example, "today I am 17 weeks, 2 days, and 8 hours pregnant"  not really.... but...  (honestly I keep forgetting I am pregnant, the fact that in 5 more weeks I will be half way done is just crazy to me.  There is so much going on, that time is just flying by)  Poor little neglected fetus.

I took these Thursday after Sailyr had woken up from her nap.  Notice the crazy hair :)  She is doing great! She does not even seem to notice she has stitches in.  She even lets me put the ointment on them twice a day without complaint. We should be going in Monday to Tuesday to get them taken out.

What a funny girl.
