I first saw this on the Thank You Project , it is sooooo awesome!
I have to admit I have tried to take a picure a day.  And it is so hard, I failed horribly each time I tried it.  My new 365 project has been hard, but a lot more do-able for me.  Anyway, this video is awesome! you should watch it!

When Devin and I came upon this picture of Baby Dixie we were amazed at how much Sailyr looks like her.
I don't know if you will be able to see the similarities in the picture I posted of Sailyr...
But we agree that Sailyr not only looks like the Englesteads...
She also has some Excell in her!

Maybe now we can blame her ears on the Excell side :)

its april 28th... you know what that means???

This day last year is the day we found out I was Pregnant with Sailyr.
Devin did not believe me.
He was tiling the shower, and had grout all over his hands.
He laughed and said "Yeah right!"
We decided to keep it a secret..... just for a while.
The next week we flew to Europe!
I left The U.S. feeling great!
On my flight home was the first time I actually got sick.
I would not be able to eat pizza for the remainder of my Pregnancy because of all the pizza we ate in Europe.
Then we got to see the baby.
Our first ultrasound was at 13 weeks and our second was at 20 weeks.
Our 20 week ultrasound was on our 3rd anniversary and we found out we were having a girl!

I know some people think its fun to wait and be surprised.
But for me it was so good to find out what it was.
I still was not so sure about this thing growing inside of me.
It scared me and I was wondering what I had got myself into.
After finding out the gender, I felt so much more of a bond with the baby.
I started to get excited!
It just started to seem more real!

Then came the camping...
Oh my, the camping.
Devin had a hunt in NV that summer
And I am not exaggerating when I say
We camped 7 weekends in a row.
and then some.
Sick.
Not being able to eat
Vomiting.
Uncomfortable.
And yes, for 7 weekends I was sleeping out in the NV desert.
(the picture above was actually the prettiest place we camped - but of course there were no deer there. So I never saw that pretty place again)

Then I really started growing
and growing

Dev even had to help with a few things

Then December was here....

On Christmas Eve I said "i think its time"

And early Christmas morning,
She was here.

And she was perfect

And tiny

we were smitten

Wow!!! what a crazy ride!

Its not easy getting these little ones to earth.
Its an emotional and physical up hill battle.
But once they hand you that pink, wrinkly little human
you realize what all the struggle was for.

Happy Easter!

Sailyr wore her cute easter dress to church, came home took a nap,
and when she woke up there was an easter basket waiting for her!
Sadly it is raining outside so we had to stay inside.

We had a 'home made' easter this year!
The 'Easter Bunny' made her dress and her cute new doll!

2 nights ago i woke up at midnight and just could not go back to sleep.   i knew all my tossing and coughing was keeping dev up so i went and layed on the couch in the living room.  big mistake. why do i have  6 ticking clocks in one room? at 3:30 a.m. 6 ticking clocks is enough to send even the most sane person over the edge.

and one more thing (if your a man or dont like reading about bodily disfunctions then i advise you to stop reading now)

coughing really hard 4 months after giving birth is awesome.

please tell me things will tighten back up... even just a little?!

ok.... i am off to buy some depends.

Trick candles are tricky.

This is what the after math of turning 27 looks like.
Last night I lit each candle and turned out all the lights.
And made him make a wish before blowing out the candles.
Because what birthday is complete with out making a wish.

And here is beautiful Sailyr -
We had a couple of people tell us that she looks like Devin's dad, Kay.
Everyone sees somebody different in her,
She must just look like us all.

One thing is for certain, she has Englestead feet.
Those toes look nothing like mine.

The Park!

That little hat was mine when I was little, its a bit old and we need a new one.  But it does a good job at keeping the sun off of her face and head.

picture over load

THANK YOU GRANDMA & GRANDPA E!!!!
We LOOOOOVE Books!

Sailyr's little personality has started to shine through!!!  As sad as I am that she is getting bigger and bigger, its also great because she is getting to be so much fun!  She is very smile-y and talks like crazy, she has even started giggling (oh my heart just melts).  She loves it when we sing to her (which wont last long, believe me:) so we sing all kinds of songs to her.  ABC's, Twinkle Twinkle little star, Sailyr had a Lucy Bug (which is our own version of Mary had a little lamb)!  Our house is just dripping with so much cheesy baby talk/singing, it would have made my pre-baby self gag.

But in the middle of all this 'itsy bitsy spider lifestyle' are the cutest cheeks I have ever seen.  I think I might put some whipped cream on them and eat them for dinner if I could.  Seriously.  And the drool? Oh my, the drool... is everywhere!  The diaper blow outs, or blow ups (as in all the way up her back to her hair),  the spit up that is all over all of my clothes. And funny enough, I could not care one bit.

I figured out how to make these cute ruffle diaper covers the other day...

So of course we needed pictures :)

Love this little bebe!

Jack be Little!

I think in my past life I was a pumpkin farmer.
Because every spring I cant help but buy packets of pumpkin seeds
and while I am planting them, I am day dreaming about wandering around in my pumpkin patch.
And this year the thought of Sailyr wandering around the Pumpkin patch with me.....!
!
!
It was too much.
For that reason alone is why I had to buy every different size of pumpkin seeds that I could get my hands on.
Why?
Why?
Why?
Why do I love the idea of my own pumpkin patch so much?
We don't even have room for all these pumpkins -
but obviously, that does not stop me.

See the instructions on the picture below-
Read what it says in the column below 'spacing after thinning'

2 to 3 seeds per hill?!?!
People, I don't have a hill....
but I do have close to 35 pumpkin seeds growing!!!
Good thing dev has agreed to dedicating 1/2 of our back yard to the pumpkins this year.
We will see what happens.
Grow, Pumpkins, Grow!

We are also trying these this year.
And I am sure the usual peas and carrots will make it in the ground as well.
Sunflowers?
Remember last years sunflower (I should try and find the picture of it)
the one that grew taller than out garage door?
hmmmm....
I may have to plant me some sunflowers this year too!

I made Sailyr put on her first pair of jeans today!
For the planting of the crops :)
Not comfy, but very cute!

just something cute for your wednesday-

I had no idea she now likes being on her tummy.
Last week she hated HATED it.
Today, she did not mind to much...

ok Time, you can stop now.

a few more laughlin pictures...

We are still sick. but defiantly on the mends.
its 10a.m. and both me and sailyr are bathed and dressed,... so thats a good sign.
i think we may start our garden today, in little cups that sit in the window of course.
seeing that it still may snow.
but i have big plans for the garden this year!
i'm thinking - pumpkin patch!!!
now to break the news to dev....

hope your doing good, especially grandma e.
Please get feeling better.

Were back from Laughlin.
It was a good time, and a good "practice vacation" for Sailyr.
I think next time we are traveling with an adorable 3 monther old, we will pick some other place to go that is not the get-a-way place for retired people.
They are baby crazed grandparents just dying to get their hands on children.
We were stopped so much so that they could see Sailyr, and then tell us ALLLLL about their grand kids.
But it was a good time!
Baby girl ended up getting the saddest little cough and running rose while we were there.
And she is still at it today.
No worries - we took her to the dr... and its just a cold.
Thankfully.

Its a lazy sunday at our house.
But we had a fun weekend!
Grandma Was Here!!!
