Long weekend

We had a long weekend and it was wonderful!!!  We also had no cheer or anything to do this weekend.... and we wondered what the heck we were going to do with ourselves.
We went for a walk around rigby lake and the kids found so many shells and treasures (trash) in the pit of the lake, we went for a bike ride in our unseasonal warm weather, we played harry potter monopoly, we watched gilmore girls (me and finley are trying to watch all the seasons), Devin and I watched our first season of traders.... (I got sick of everyone talking about it so I had to dive in!)
And we went snowboarding two different days this weekend.
And when I say "we" I really me "Me".
I went snowboarding Friday.
Oh boy!  Its been 10 years since I've been on a board and before that one time 10 years ago, its been 10 years.  So really its been like 20 years.
And I'm here to tell you it was rough... but I am now inspired to get a little better at it because it was super fun being up there with all the kids and watching Indie and Fin just cruising all over the mountain.

Fin is actually really really good at snowboarding.  This is her 3rd year and it just kind of clicked for her this year.  She is loving it!  Indie is also loving it and is really good!  This is her first year and I'm impressed at her ability to feel so comfortable on her board.  And Sailyr, this is the first year that she hasn't been into it as much.  She is good at it but I think Finley passed her up in skill level this year.  She went with us on Monday but didn't last as long as Fin did out there on the mountain.

Valentines

February means Valentines day!  And, my two littles have been getting ready for their Valentines parties at school for a few weeks now.
One of the moms that was helping with Willow's party sent me this picture.
Willow has had Valentines parties in preschool for the past two years, so she was excited and ready for her kindergarten valentine exchange.

And she came home and showed me all of her treats and toys from her friends.

Indie would not let me take any pictures of her. But she made the cutest camera Valentines box.
It was so cute and she had so much fun at school exchanging valentines.

We also picked up the Call kids and they went and did a bit of Valentines good deeds around town...
first up, valentines at the assisted living center.

Then, quarters at the laundromat.  They also made cute little cards to set with the quarters.  We also went and passed out $100 bills at the grocery store.  It was fun and I think ALLLLL the kids loved it, even the teenagers.

Last week

Here are a few things that happened last week.

Indie and I finished this cute book, Wish.  Neither of us had ever read it before, and it was such a sweet story.

Something else exciting.... Sailyr got a car!
She paid for half of it with last years sheep money, and we paid for the other half.
Buying this car was couple hour process because the guy we bought it from didn't speak a word of English.  So we had to take Sailyr and Finley with us, they did okay but he spoke really fast and also they dont talk alot about car parts in their classes.  So we ended up having to call Boston, and he helped us translate.   But it was fun hearing Sailyr chat with him after we bought the car.  Both girls are really good at spanish.

We got the car home and the little girls came out to see it.  Then Willow started crying because she thought this meant that Sailyr was moving away.  It was so sad.

And I went into Willow's room last night after she was asleep and had to take this picture.  She sleeps with all the stuffies that Grandma Corrine gives her.  She has a little unicorn that she got probably two years ago, then her two new warmies that grandma gave her for her birthday.  :)  She has me warm up the warmies every night.

Oh my, we are busy.  I know January is supposed to be a slower month, but its not.  Weve had cheer competitions ever weekend, and just having 4 kids running all over the place, plus work and everything else is just crazy.  I know I don't post as much here as I used to, and it makes me sad.  But also, how did I have the time?  I feel like I am just racing from one thing to the next right now.

Let's do a little birthday update for Willow!

She is the funniest little girl.  She talks so grown up at home.  Bossing sisters around and explaining to me why they are wrong and she is right.  :)  She is finally at all day kindergarten, and loving it.  We went until 11:00 until Thanksgiving, then we went until 1:00 until just a couple weeks ago.  She needed to ease into Kindergarten.  Luckily the school and her teachers were happy to work with us and let her take whatever time she needed.

She has made so many friends at school.  Some of them are Hallie, Addie, Janie, Brynn.  And of course we still see Parker and Jasper from Kindergarten.  Our cousins moved to Idaho, so she has been playing with Brixton and Kollins a lot.  I don't think I've ever seen Willow play with someone as long and as well as she plays with Brixton.  Those two play for 11-12 hours straight.  And only come up stairs for water.  :)  We have to force them to come eat lunch or dinner.  Its so funny.

She loves fruity pebbles cereal (muddy pebbles), jerky, fruit by the foot (step by the step), and oreo cookies.  She loves wendy's, her order is chicken nuggets and a vanilla frosty.  She also loves to go get gelati from Fixxology.

She has a whole night time routine before bed.  Which includes warming up her warmies, getting "cold cold cold cold cold cold water", reading her at least 3 books, saying prayers and tucking her in.  Her bedtime is between 6:30-7pm and she sleeps until about 7am when I wake her up for school.

She does not want to do any afterschool activities.  I'm still trying to get her to do ballet.... but she probably wont end up doing it.  She loves just coming home and playing, which is fine.

Her favorite shows are the chipmunks, park life.  And Bluey.  She also loves A for Adley.

She knows every word to Megan Moroney songs thanks to her sisters.

Still Loves pigs and any other farm animal... or any animal for that matter.  Whenever we go to the library she only wants to check out books about animals.  She could care less about the cute picture books. She just wants to learn about Hippos, and hampsters, and coyotes, and gold fish :)

She plays with Indie super well.  Of course they fight too... but they are good little friends.

She also talks a lot!  You'd never know it because she is quite shy in public.  But she talks and talks and talks.  So much that her sisters tell her to quit talking and it makes her feel bad.  :)

Funny things Willow has said

Indie - "Willow, soon you will be able to read!"

Willow - "dun, Dun, DUNNNN"

One morning before school Willow came into my room.  I told her to go wake up Indie and she said "No, Dad, you have to go wake up Indie, because you're the only one here thats not afraid of bears".

(yes Indie is so grumpy in the morning)

One evening when I was getting Willow out of the tub,

Willow; "Mom, shut the door!  I'm not getting out of the tub with the door opened".

Me; "No one is out there, just let me help you out"

Willow; "No mom! you have to shut the door first".

- So I shut the bathroom door and went back to help her.

Me; "Okay, its shut, lets get you out"

Willow; "Finally... Mom, you know that's not my style".

:)

Every time I get something for her (like a drink of water, or a blanket, or whatever it is around the house that she needs) she says "thanks mom, You're the best!"

She is the sweetest little girl.  We love her and her excitement for life!  She is the perfect little baby girl for our family.  She loves being the baby of the family; the few times one of the girls has asked Willow if we should have another baby Willow will immediately say "No, I'm the littles of them all",  :)

And she is.  She's the littlest of them all and we all love her so much!

Willow turns 6!

These pictures are not in chronological order, but here are a few pictures from Willow's 6th Birthday!

She has been asking to go paint pottery for months and months now.  So that is what we decided to do for her birthday party.  We took Hallie, Parker, Brixton and Kollins with us.  It was so much fun!

That night, blowing out her candles...

And opening gifts.

And grandma Sandy invited her over to decorate cupcakes and open her gift.  She got paper dolls from Sandy, it was so cute!
