My first week away from home...

My first week has been very eventful. I organized my scrapbooking stuff pretty much all day Monday. I finally got it all stuffed in a closet and my cubes. I decided I still do not have enough...need to buy more! I doubt that Curtis agrees.

Our air conditioning has not been working right lately here at the apartment. The maintenance guy for the apartment complex came to work on it yesterday and thought he fixed it. Well when I woke up this morning it was set on 70 and it was actually 80 in our apartment. Also when I came home from an interview at the scrapbook store yesterday Curtis informs me that every surface in our apartment is covered in soot...don't touch anything. Soooo, I had to wash / "worsh" the brand new bed sheets and quilt and wipe down everything in the bathroom and bedroom. There were also cob webs ALL over the walls. Come to find out this had all come out of the furnace ducts. After complaining they sent their cleaning lady in to "clean" our place. Well she didn't clean to my satisfaction and when the air wasn't fixed the maintenance guy came in to work on it again today he shot soot and cob webs everywhere AGAIN. So now that my feet are black from walking in the apartment we are fighting this battle with the complex to get a discount on our rent.

Yesterday I went into my new job to take a tour and discuss some things like parking arrangements before starting work next Monday. I'm really excited to start. It gets really boring during the day here at the apartment.
Today I went to my "New Hire Internship Orientation" at school. It was a long period of information overload but also very helpful.
I was really sad to hear ma tell me that my Dandelion is homesick for me. She didn't sleep last night until 3 A.M...just whined. How sad. I hope my ma and pa are doing good...I miss them terribly.
Anyway I will have to post some pics of our place later. I am off to the pool to go for a swim....oh yeah did I mention we have a pool here? Hehe

I'm a bad blogger...

I know, I know. I am a horrible blogger. I haven't had a lot of time between work, packing, and exercising. I do have all my things packed and ready to move though! I am taking a load in my Jeep this weekend. Probably going to try and take my scrapbooking stuff. Should be interesting when I bring all that in. It and I may end up in the dumpster! I also got the pleasure of ripping my corner paper furniture desk to pieces the other night. I will say they are a LOT more fun to tear apart than put together! I'm really looking forward to moving though. I know I will miss my parents, dogs, & Chuckie terribly, but they are not that far away. My pink Dell laptop is supposed to be delivered tomorrow...I'm super excited about that. This laptop is a real piece of work lately! Anyway, I'm off to my bed. Hope all is going well with everyone.

What an icky 4th of July...

Thinking back over the past 4th of July holidays I could only remember one that even compared to this one. We were at the lake and it was FREEZING! Yesterday it rained ALL day. We had fireworks and didn't even get them out. I suppose we will have them to set off another weekend sometime soon. I enjoyed my day off Friday, but I would have more if I wasn't in bed dizzy all morning. I managed to get up in the afternoon and go shopping at the outlet mall with Curtis though. I got some really good deals on some new clothes! We had to laugh after I told him I'm "over" my Hollister days.

Anyway, I don't have any pictures to add to this because my computer is broken. (Using my dads) Hopefully Curtis can fix it so I have a computer for the next month before I can get my new one for school.

Well maybe I should go scrapbook something or try to finish a project! Hahaha

I promise I will update this more often! (Just to make you happy, Bubba!)

Just another day in paradise...

So my vacation to Texas was fun. We had wonderful weather and got to spend time with a great bunch of family.

Anyway...I wanted to post a couple pictures of our newest family member. This is Chuckie the Chinchilla. He is about 12 years old. We got him from my bosses wife. She was a science teacher at MHS and retired this year, but wanted a good home for Chuckie. He is really sweet! He cracks peanuts himself and eats em, he also snacks on Craisins. This is THE softest pet you will ever feel.

A good start to vacation...

I am on vacation for the next 5 days!!! How exciting is that? So, I'm starting it off right and baking some chocolate chip cookies...Yum! Friday Curtis and I are leaving for Dallas, TX. We are going to visit his brother and family. Should be an uncomfortable 12 hour car ride. Ugh! I will be thinking about my Illinois when its 110 degrees. Ok that might be a tiny bit of an exageration, but I'm sure it will be plenty hot. My Ebay auctions end tonight, I'm so excited since its my first time and they're all sold. Anyway, hope everybody has a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend if I don't post anymore this week.
