God moves in a mysterious way - William Cowper

God moves in a mysterious way
His wonders to perform;
He plants His footsteps in the sea
...And rides upon the storm.

Deep in unfathomable mines
Of never failing skill
He treasures up His bright designs
And works His sovereign will.

Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take;
The clouds ye so much dread
Are big with mercy and shall break
In blessings on your head.

Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
But trust Him for His grace;
Behind a frowning providence
He hides a smiling face.

His purposes will ripen fast,
Unfolding every hour;
The bud may have a bitter taste,
But sweet will be the flower.

Blind unbelief is sure to err
And scan His work in vain;
God is His own interpreter,
And He will make it plain.

January 4 Memorial Service - Lakewood, Colorado

Tom Hash

In Memory of Henry Thomas Hash

November 22, 1929 ~ December 29, 2009

Tom and Dotty Hash were active members of the Southern Gables Congregation for 30 years, serving in a variety of leadership roles, until they moved to Texas in 2008. Tom went to be with the Lord on December 29, 2009, after a year-long battle with cancer. Two memorial services were held to celebrate Tom's life.

The first service was held at their Texas home church, Woodcreek Church, in Richardson, Texas, on January 1, 2010. A video of that service is available for viewing online.

The second service was held on January 4, 2010, at Southern Gables Church in Littleton, Colorado. We make available several multi-media components of that service below so that you may be a part of the celebration of Tom's life. At this time, only audio recordings and one video shown during the service are available. We hope to have a full video recording of the service available online within the next 10 days.

A PDF file of the memorial service program is available for download or viewing here. The service was a full two hours in length. The full length audio recording in MP3 format, including a 16-minute piano prelude, can be downloaded here. You can listen to the full service online by clicking here which loads a playlist that allows you to listen continuously or skip ahead to the next program segment.

For your convenience in listening to only portions of the service at one time, we have listed program segments below with links to the related audio files. There are also links to the "To Live is Christ" video and the "Celebrating through Pictures" video.

If you have an interest in making a donation in memory of Tom's life, the family has requested that donations be made to Cadence International to be divided between two ministries: training young pastors in Poland and a pioneering work with soldiers in the US Military.

1-11-10 Monday night

My dear friends far and near.....

I have hugged so many of you in the past 10 days, and my heart was warmed by your loving embrace and words of encouragement.

Thanks for helping Tom finish well with the two memorial services. Words can't express how deeply grateful our family is to you for your love, prayers, kind words, cards, and gifts.

Several of you gave Gideon Bibles in Tom's honor....that too is so kind and thoughtful.

I want very much to write to each one of you individually, but right now I simply can't do it. Everything I do seems such an effort. Most of the time I'm thinking positive and rejoicing with Tom, but the deep pain does come --yesterday being the worst. It's only by faith that I feel I can go on without him with this "Grand Canyon sized hole in my heart." I feel so worthless without him, but I know that is Satan's lie.

I am meditating on this verse to get victory over the doubt." I, the Lord your God, am with you...I am mighty to save..I will take great delight in you..I will comfort you with my love..I will rejoice over you with singing. Zeph. 3:17 (My paraphrase)

My precious Lori came over last night and prayed with me, and I realized then how much I miss Tom's prayers. Dan/Laura/Jacob are on their way to TX right now. We will celebrate my 78th birthday and then they will fly back to Poland on the 14th.

I will continue to send occasional updates. Thanks for your continued love and prayers....I need you so much.

Not doing too great at finishing well right now without my sweetheart..
