We were looking for a fun place to go to the beach that wasn't too far of a drive and not too hot. We were told about a fun place to stay called Sand Dunes that my friend stays at when her family goes. We checked it out and decided to go. It was pretty last minute which stressed Jason out but we had a great time.
We had a great time on the beach. The waves were pretty good, in fact we had to wait until low tide to go out because the waves were a little too much for the boys during high tide.
Kayla was a good big sister and buried her brother in the sand. We had a great time just getting away with our family and being lazy.
Keaton had a great time in the water and loved the high waves which was his request that we go to a beach with good waves.
The resort we stayed at was to the left in this picture. Six pools to choose from including a small water park area with a lazy river. We stayed in North Myrtle Beach. We really enjoyed the location. There were plenty of places to eat and miniature golf and those kinds of things but it wasn't so crowded like South Myrtle Beach is.
Kaden loves to have his daddy help him build a sandcastle just so he can knock it down in true bam bam fashion!
One day we took a break from the beach and drove over to Wilmington, NC. Kayla and I toured a plantation home while the boys went to see this ship. We also visited a serpentarium. Talk about someone being crazy about snakes. It was disgusting and I truly had a hard time even walking through the place. We saw some of the most venemous snakes in the world. Some of them were as round as tree trunks. It was very disturbing for me and Kayla but the boys all loved it.
We had great weather while we were there and we may need to keep this in mind for a Tolsma Family Trip destination one day.
So many of our trip are go,go,go. It was nice to sit back and relax a bit and enjoy being together on this one.
