Those Crazy Tolsma's

Tolsma's In Utah!  These are the pictures from our informal picture session! A lot of these turned out super cute, so happy viewing! We will have to set up something to share all of our pictures with each other. I am bummed we didn't get the whole group shot when we had the chance. What were we thinking!

We have a ton of pics from Utah so I did these seperately. Coming soon a big post from all of our activities!

Myrtle Beach

We were looking for a fun place to go to the beach that wasn't too far of a drive and not too hot. We were told about a fun place to stay called Sand Dunes that my friend stays at when her family goes. We checked it out and decided to go. It was pretty last minute which stressed Jason out but we had a great time.
We had a great time on the beach. The waves were pretty good, in fact we had to wait until low tide to go out because the waves were a little too much for the boys during high tide.
Kayla was a good big sister and buried her brother in the sand. We had a great time just getting away with our family and being lazy.
Keaton had a great time in the water and loved the high waves which was his request that we go to a beach with good waves.
The resort we stayed at was to the left in this picture. Six pools to choose from including a small water park area with a lazy river. We stayed in North Myrtle Beach. We really enjoyed the location. There were plenty of places to eat and miniature golf and those kinds of things but it wasn't so crowded like South Myrtle Beach is.
Kaden loves to have his daddy help him build a sandcastle just so he can knock it down in true bam bam fashion!
One day we took a break from the beach and drove over to Wilmington, NC. Kayla and I toured a plantation home while the boys went to see this ship. We also visited a serpentarium. Talk about someone being crazy about snakes. It was disgusting and I truly had a hard time even walking through the place. We saw some of the most venemous snakes in the world. Some of them were as round as tree trunks. It was very disturbing for me and Kayla but the boys all loved it.

We had great weather while we were there and we may need to keep this in mind for a Tolsma Family Trip destination one day.
So many of our trip are go,go,go. It was nice to sit back and relax a bit and enjoy being together on this one.

School's Out!!!

May is always an extremely busy time for us. School is ending, sports are ending, so many ceremonies to attend. I finished up teaching preschool just in time to attend all the ceremonies for my own kiddos. This is Kayla's soccer banquet for E.C. and this is her coach.
Kayla with some of her teammates. These girls play on her club team as well.
Kaden's Kindergarten Graduation! A sad day for mommy and daddy for our last kiddo to be graduating kindergarten. Can't believe it! They grow up so fast.
He had  awesome teachers this year. Ms. Joyce and Ms.Debbie loved Kaden and he loved them right back. Ms. Joyce was everything you'd want in a kindergarten teacher. I have actually known her for a while as Kayla and her daughter are in the same grade and use to hang out a bit together. I was thrilled when I found out she was going to be Kaden's teacher.
Time to move on to first grade. Really sweet program for the graduation! Made me tear up a bit for sure.
Another day, another ceremony. Keaton and his third grade class. He had Mrs. Hawkins and their class was Hawkins' Hip Hoppers.  They sang a few songs and then had awards. He did really well and got called for a lot of awards. We aren't raising no dummies around here!
So proud of all of the kids and all the hard work they have put into school this year! Now onto 1st, 4th,and 10th grade for the Tolsma kiddos!

Kittens!

For part of the kids Christmas this year we told them they could help pick out 2 new kittens. So introducing Blizzard and Oreo. I think you can probably figure out who is who. Blizzard is a boy and Oreo is a girl.
Oreo was named because Keaton rode on a black and white horse named Oreo and he kept saying when we get a kitten I want it to be black and white and call it Oreo. The boys wanted to name the white cat snow flake and Kayla about had a heart attack because she thought that was  a wussie name . So i came up with Blizzard which everyone seemed to like and it was a little bit more manly of a name. It was just corny enough to fit. Oreo Blizzard.
They both have really good personalities and love to be petted and cuddled.
Oreo was a little standoffish of Blizzard  at first and he put up with it for 2 days and then he decided he had had enough of that and was ready to play. He would just tackle her and play whether she wanted too or not and they became instant friends after a few days of that.
I feel sorry for them some times having two boys who love them so much and want to play but they always come back for more so they must be ok with getting roughed up a bit.

Halloween 2012

Working on our pumpkin carvings again this year. What will be the carving of choice this year?
Lots of hard work to scrape out all that pumpkin goo. The boys don't love that part so much but they do look forward to eating roasted pumpkin seeds afterwards.
Keaton's being just a bit goofy! He is enjoying getting his hands dirty. Can't you tell?

Nice work boys and a not without a little help from dad. We have a spider web and ghost graveyard. It never fails that at least one picks out a very detailed one that keeps Jason busy carving for hours.
Keaton is a gold power ranger this year. He even kept his mask on for quite a while.
Kaden is batman and again picked out a costume with lots of muscle. Our cousins didn't get to join us this year which made us sad but we went with neighbor friends this year and Ty came over as well and we had lots of fun.
Someone is missing from this picture and blog post. I haven't gotten a picture of Kayla before trick or treating in a long time. She is always getting ready when we are leaving and even though I ask her to come back for a picture I never get it. She did go trick or treating for a little while before going to a halloween party. This year her and Sabrina made Dori and Nemo shirts to wear but you will have to use your imagination on those. Maybe next year I will get a picture.
