Wolf Creek Family AfFAIR

We took Zach two years ago and had an equally amazing time as this year. You can't beat all this fun, food and activities for free-ee.

Zachery had a blast! I wish I could jump in there too.

Eric had to stop here and putt with Zach. Go Eric!

I added this photo in just for fun. Whenever she see's me with my cell phone, she wants it. Why do kids love phones and remotes better than toys?

Black Swamp Arts Festival

Several weeks ago, we went to Bowling Green for the Arts festival. I have heard about it, but this was the first time we went and it is just awesome for kids! There were plenty of projects and activities, all free for kids, (and beautiful art on display/for sale by grown up artists as well).

Zach waited, almost patiently, for his turn to paint (he helped a friend paint his paper too). We have proudly displayed it at our house, for now. Zach really got into it.

These black wings are butterfly wings. He drew on them, but since it didn't show well, I added feathers. He proudly wore them that whole day.

Zach and Avery loved banging on the drums. Avery loves to do whatever Zach is doing.

Ah, sidewalk chalk. Zach loves it, but he ends up covered. Oh well, it's good to be 4.

Come next year!

Fulton County Fair

Over Labor Day weekend, some of Eric's family came into town and we went out to the Fulton Co. Fair. Eric's dad grew up in the area and they have both been coming to this fair for years. I was impressed by the variety of things to see, from rides to tractors, to flower arranging contest to a religious revival tent! My one regret is that we didn't make it to the dairy farmer's booth for delicious ice cream, but next year we won't be so negligent. :)

This is Eric, his dad, Roger (and Zachery), checking out the goat barn.

Avery loved to touch as many animals as she could. On the other hand, Zach refused to pet any.

Zachery is saying "cheese" here. In the swine barn, most of the pigs were taking naps. Fulton county kids got out of school for the week long fair event. cool beans.

Probably Zach's favorite here - the tractors. What a cute kid. :)

First Day

Zachery started preschool last week! He was so excited and even though he didn't tell me much about it afterwards, he was bouncing around all happy.

The sun was shining in his eyes.

I signed him up last Spring, and it's been a long 5 months waiting. He is all grown up to me, sort of and I hope he continues to like it. All I remember from preschool was playing in the play kitchen and a pet turtle. :)

The teachers said nothing, just kept the kids singing while everyone arrived. Other parents took pictures too and then I left. It makes me feel old, but good.

His preschool is just 2 minutes from our house, if that. It's so nice.

Lyn's Wedding and the bell

Last month we attended a wedding for Eric's cousin, Lyn up in Michigan. I love weddings and the whole thing was lovely.

We got a family picture with at least half of us smiling.

In this picture you can see the happy couple. I want you to look at the window above them. It's hard to see it here, but this historical church has a bellfry (sp?) and a big rope to ring it up in the choir section. :) After I took this picture, I reaaaaaaly wanted to go up and ring that bell. When would I ever get the chance to do it again?

After my nephew, Parker and his mom/my s.i.l., Liz, went up and rang it, I took Zach up there and we all took turns. What a fun thing, even if I do look cheesy.

It took a lot of pulling for these two (Lauren and Zachery) to get it to ring.

No one seemed to mind our ringing, after all, it was a wedding!

Red Vines

Of late, I haven't posted very often. Nothing noteworthy to report, and I've not felt witty or saucy. Right now, I just feel compelled to write something.

This Labor Day weekend was great. We had some of Eric's family come into town and we all gathered and played, no labor whatsoever. :) just like I like it - games, food and some Design Star. I'd wanted to play the game "Pit" but we never got around to it. Next time. A couple things I know for sure that have been reiterated to me this weekend.
1) Red Vines rule the licorice world.
2) When playing "Catan" with Eric, always, always put the robber on him and take one of his cards.
3) Carmel corn made with brown sugar, Karo syrup, and something else (I forget) is waaaaay delicious and kept calling my name during the BYU/Oklahoma game. Go Cougars!

Side Note:
Remember my post about Avery's cardiologist? I decided to stay with St. V's (boo for head of Ped's dept.) and use another doctor from his office, one Draper recommended. I know there's another side that people will not tell me. What is it? Avery's pediatrician knows and said she "doesn't talk". boo. I just would like to know why, why? If YOU know, you'll tell me, right? If not, you're a traitor. :)
