The good ol' county fair

On Saturday night we met Grandpa and Grandma at the fair. We took Lily to see all of the animals. Overall, she had a lot of fun looking at all of the animals. It took her a few minutes to warm up to the pigs because they made so much noise and they didn't smell so nice! We found this gigantic horse hanging his head out of the barn. I was afraid it was going to bite us so I didn't get too close!! Lily was fascintated by him!! We didn't get to spend too much time at the fair because it started to rain. There was an awesome thunderstorm! The lightning was hitting so close and it was so loud! We went to Iceberg to get out of the rain and to get milkshakes. I think Lily's new favorite food is a strawberry malt!

Lily and her lily

Here's a few pictures of Lily I took a little while ago. I gave her the little flower hoping that it would keep her interested enough to sit still while I played around with the camera. Most of the time the flower was in her mouth. She's eight months old..what can I really expect? Lily is getting more active every single day now. She has only been crawling a couple of weeks and she is already a pro. She can get anywhere she wants and she is totally loving the freedom. She has also discovered all of the new toys all over Grandma's house. She is only drawn to the ones that are breakable! I can't keep up with her some days! She is opening all of the cabinets to see what is inside and she her new favorite room is the bathroom. She sneaks off there every time that I turn my back. My favorite thing is this mischievious look that she always gives me when she is on her way to get into trouble! I can't ever get mad at her because she is just so darn cute!!

Home Sweet Home!!

For those of you who have not seen it yet, this is our temporary home for the next few months. We were very surprised that all our stuff actually fit in the room!! It is definately cozy, but so far we are enjoying it! Hopefully Marilyn will be able to put up with us until our house is finished!

This baby is moving!!

-Saturday night Lily decided to start crawling. She has been so close for the last month, but she couldn't quite put all the moves together. On Saturday, Lily and I were in the bedroom playing on our bed. I put a few of her cherry flavored "puffs" across the bed and put her all the way on the other side. And off she went!! She crawled straight acoss the bed and went to her puffs. Since then she wants to be on the floor as much as possible. This morning I left her on the floor in the bedroom while I went to the kitchen. I heard a noise and turned around to see that Lily had followed me all the way down the hallway. I'm really excited that she has finally figured this crawling thing out, but now I am going to have to watch her very, very carefully!!!

Just like a fishy..

Saturday's temperature was well over 100, so we decided to try out Lily's brand new pool. She absolutely loves the water! We stuck her in there and immediatly she was splashing and giggling. She looked so adorable in her swim suit! The little neighbor boys were standing by the fence checkin her out!

Which way to the beach??!

-Because of the recent move, I haven't had very much time to update our blog. These are some random pictures of Lily from the past week. I finally got my new toy, a Nikon D50, and I have been having a blast taking tons of pictures of our adorable baby!! We bought her a little blow up pool for the back yard. We haven't actually taken it out of the box yet, but I wanted to dress her up in her new swimsuit just to make sure it fit. I think that she's all ready for her first little swim!!

Packing Up!

Packing is a tough job! It's even tougher with a 7 month old baby who insists on helping with everything!! Lily loves to touch and feel everything right now. She had a great time playing in the boxes we have set up in the living room. Maybe we won't have to keep buying her toys! The packing up is going well, the house is getting emptier by the day. We want to be completely moved out by Saturday, so we can turn over the keys early next week. It's sad to leave, but I'm really excited to be done with all this packing!!

One more week.. and we're already exhausted!!

It's hard to believe that we are only going to be in this house for one more week! We've been here for over two years now and this is the only home we've been in since we have been married. I am excited for the changes, but I don't think it has all set in yet. It will be especially hard to take apart Lily's bedroom! I'm really going to miss our little townhouse. Everything is happening so fast that I really haven't had time to think about leaving. We are going to be moved out by next Saturday (July 8th). We are moving in with Todd's mom until our new house is finished. This moving thing is going to be tough!! But, I guess we're ready...

Lily's First Trip to the Zoo

-Mom and Krista had their work party at the zoo this year. It was the first time that Lily has been to the zoo. She was pretty entertained by all of the animals. The monkeys were a big hit!! It will be fun to take her back when she actually knows which animal is which!

Our beautiful hole!!

On Saturday, we drove out to see if there was any progress on the house. Instead of an empty lot there are mountains of dirt. They started digging the foundation out!! It was really exciting to see that something is actually happening there. I don't think that they were quite done digging yet. It is kind of funny that we are so excited about a hole in the ground. But, it is our hole and some day soon there will be a house there! We've been told that the house will be done in October. It is going to be a lot of fun to watch it go up!

Aunt Kellie's Bear

Aunt Kellie had to have surgery on her ACL yesterday. Lily and I went to Build-A-Bear to make her a present. The only problem was that Lily fell in love with the bear!! She absolutely loved the little grass skirt. Luckily, we were able to pry it away from her and actually give it to Aunt Kellie!!

Okay, here goes nothing...

Okay, so here goes nothing...I'm finally jumping into the world of blogging. I think it will be a great opportunity for me to share my day-to-day life with family and friends that live far away. Enjoy!
