My sisters are leaving me!!

Over the past week all of my sisters have started (or are soon starting) off on their own little adventures. It makes me a little sad that we are all going to be separated for a little while! But, it is a good thing because all of them are doing great things.

KRISTA:http://www.kshyne.blogspot.com

Krista is the farthest away. She is doing an internship at an inn in Palmyra, NY. She has only been there a few days and is still getting the hang of everything. Her favorite part of the whole experience is her new "roommates", a couple of chipmunks and squirrels. Krista loves being so close to the Sacred Grove and the Palmyra Temple.

JULIE:

Quite unexpectedly, Julie found out this week that she was being accepted into BYU-Idaho nursing program. So, she has been trying to hurry up and get everything in order for that to happen. She actually started UVSC this week and had to go drop all of her classes and sell her books back. Julie is going to head up to Idaho tomorrow or Saturday and is going to get all settled in there for the next few months.

KELLIE:
Kellie is going to be the closest to me for the next little while. So, we are probably going to be hanging out all the time. She is going to be so busy. but hopefully she'll be able to squeeze me in. Kellie is going to UVSC this semester doing their honors program. She's also working at Old Navy AND in case that wasn't enough, she is going to be taking a dental assisting program. That program starts in about a month and then she will be crazy busy all the time.

It's so fun to see all of my sisters go off on their adventures. I'm really excited to hear about all of the fun stuff that they all get to do in the next few months. It's just going to be hard to get used to having them so far away. I'm just really gratefully that I still have Kellie here!!

Day at the park

Lily and I were bored this afternoon, so in spite of the heat, we went to Murray park for a couple of hours. I have been reading a book on photography and I am trying to learn how to shoot pictures on my camera manually. Luck for me I've always got a little model with me and Lily was more than happy to spend the afternoon outside. We spent a lot of time just walking around and watching the people jogging and walking their dogs. Lily got so excited every time a dog would walk by! We went over and watched the geese for a while. Lily could not figure out what they were. One of the white ones started to chase me and it kinda freaked me out. Poor Lily didn't know what to do so she just cried. I know, I'm pathetic!! While we were there we took a ton of pictures. A lot of them were just for practice but a few of them turned out pretty cool! When we were leaving, we stopped by the swings for a few minutes. We met a six year old girl named Abigail who was obsessed with Lily!! She wanted to push her in the swing, carry her, and crawl around with her. It was funny and kinda cute! Anyway, it was a lot of fun and we will have to go back soon when Todd can come with us.

A Foundation!

We have a foundation! We went to drive by last Thursday and they had the foundation done. We were so surprised! I didn't even have my camera with me. So, we had to come back on Sunday night to take pictures. While we were there we met a few of the neighbors. They all seem really nice. It's so excited to see our house coming together!

Taking a stand

Lily is getting very good at standing up all by herself. She tries to pull herself up on everything!! Todd loves it when she uses his leg hair to pull herself up to him! This week she has attempted to let go a couple of times. She always falls down, but it's a good start. I'm getting the feeling that she will want to try walking soon. Then I'm really going to have my hands full!! Todd started training for a new position at work this week. He's really excited to have a little change and it is going to be fun for him to try something a little different.

FINALLY!! A house update!

For almost two months our house has just been a hole in the ground. We drove out there numerous times just to discover that there were no changes. A couple of times the dirt moved around a little, but for the most part we were always disappointed. FINALLY, this week they made a little progress!! Here's the beginning of our foundation. The giant pile of dirt will be underneath the garage. Off the the left of the garage at the front of the house is the cold storage room. Behind that is a future bathroom and more storage. The long area at the back of the house is a future family room and another bedroom. It is exciting that we can finally see a little progress!

The new love of Lily's life

On Tuesday night Todd volunteered to help at South Jordan City's National Night Out. Lily and I went to go visit him and check it out. I didn't think that there would be anything there that would entertain an 8 month old baby, but Lily had a blast!! She had a great time with a red balloon that they gave her. I tied it to her pants and she was so excited that it followed her around all night. We watched the kids climbing on the fire truck and playing with the hose. We climbed inside a police car and played with the radio. Lily loved the police dogs, especially the blood hound. He kept trying to lick her binkie! And then there was the Jazz Bear... I have never seen Lily act the way she did when she was with him. Her entire face lit up when I handed her over for the picture. She was smiling and giggling while I snapped the photo. She was totally in love with this creature that was dressed head to toe with fur. I think she thought he was a giant dog! I had to pry her little hands off of Bear's fur and she cried when I took her away! Lily's first love...Todd is so excited she's a Jazz fan!!!
