It's a BOY!!!!!

I guess all my praying payed off because we are having a boy! Not that girls are bad, just that any girl with Sweeney blood is hard to handle, and a boy never hates his mommy. The name we have so far is Max, but we are still searching. And we have no middle name, so any ideas would be great. Here are two pictures from the ultrasound. The one with his mouth open is creepy, but the lady said she almost never sees a baby doing that so she HAD to take the picture. And here is a picture of Todd and me before going to our friends birthday party. Looking at this, I'm a little nervous about how our baby will turn out...a girl can fake being pretty, but what about a boy? They are just screwed. Oh well. Hopefully he looks just like Todd.

One thing I wish I knew five months ago...

This morning I woke up with the WORST pain in my lower back. I have never felt anything like it before. Anytime I move, or even just twitch my right foot, there is a severe pain shooting down my back. I thought I just slept on it weird, but it wouldn't go away. As most of you know, I work at a preschool. Not the best place to have a back problem. I was dealing okay with it, but then it freaked out for some reason and I couldn't stand up. I was blacking out and I thought I was going to by sick all over the place. So, I ordered my four-year-old slaves to get me some water and a granola bar out of my purse. Then they ran and got another teacher, who stayed with me until I reached my senses.
What is wrong? Apparently I have a pinched nerve. And there is nothing I can do about it except wait for it to go away. So here I am walking around like I'm 100 years old. This baby better be cute. Here is a picture of a few of my slaves during Halloween.

And the winner is...

This Monday we find out if we are having a boy or girl. Todd thinks it's a girl, and I just know it is a boy. What do you think we are having? Take the poll. I'm really okay with either one (sort of pulling for a boy, but what can you do?). Just as long as the baby is healthy and it's not some sort of weird creature off of Narnia (think of Tumnus here...shudder....).

Putting off homework...

So I have about a million things to do, and blogging is not one of them. But, I don't want to study! I don't want to write any more papers! I just want to sit here, sipping my apple juice and thinking of all the things I'm going to do during my one week break between semesters. Oh, and here are some pictures. The first one is when Todd was flossing and he somehow got the floss stuck in his bottom retainer. His good friend Phil is trying to cut it out...such a good friend...(No, this really was a big deal and required my careful, skilled hand to extract the floss.) The next ones are from last night when Todd had a golf party. Some friends came over and played golf on our little t.v. while eating suckers. It looked really funny. And where were the poor, neglected wives? Sitting right behind them doing our nails. I think baby Grace passed out from the fumes of the nail polish remover. :)

Pictures

I hate these pictures. But, here is me at one week shy of 5 months. The first picture is pretty true to form (watermelon, anyone?). The second Todd had just said "Can you, like, stick your stomach out a little more?", so it's sort of bigger than usual. Looking at these pictures I realize how much bigger I look than I feel. Ouch. And I have a question for all you moms...did you break out like crazy when you were pregnant? And if you did, how do you fix it? I'm so tired to being a beast and wearing all this makeup. Really. It's like puberty times ten. So any advice will not fall on deaf ears. Thanks!

In case you haven't heard...

I promised myself I would not write a pregnancy blog until I had something really, really cool to post...like if it was a boy or girl. People have asked me to post pictures of my growing belly, but I have declined. (For a couple more weeks, anyway. I really do just look fat...) But, something really, really cool did happen yesterday! Todd and I were in the temple doing sealings when I felt the baby moving, so I put my hand over that area and *BAM*!!! The little booger kicked the crap out of it! I'm so proud. I have to admit that I want an Evie, so any signs that this little guy (or girl) has spunk excites me. Yes, I know every baby kicks, but this one seemed to do it with passion. So here is my first post admitting to Todd and I being pregnant. I'll post pictures next week, and we'll find out what it is in about two weeks (21 weeks). I can't wait!

Everyone needs a girls night...

I can't remember the last time I saw a movie without Todd. Before Tuesday night, that is. Last Tuesday "the girls" got together and saw 27 Dresses. Such a cute movie, although I have to say I was depressed the whole way through until the end when you just want to cry because it is so sweet... but that's what makes a good chick flick, right? Plus, Katherine Heigl stars in this movie and she is just so dang cute. Needless to say, Todd would have hated it. So, thank you Aria, Holly, Brittany, and Michelle for leaving your husbands with me to be a girl. We should do this more often. P.S. I Love You, anyone?
