Paper Crafting Journey #27 Jan 19th Floral Theme

Paper Crafting Journey
Challenge #2
Floral Theme

This is my first "official" card as a Paper Crafting Journey DT member.  The last couple of ones in November and December were just as a guest before the new term started with this challenge.

For the first challenge of the year, they had a sponsor, but no digi's, so i asked Ignacio, from Nicecrane Designs if he would like to also be a sponsor and supply the digi's)?  Of course, he said yes!!

The digi's are from the Flower Children series.  I used pink cardstock for the border papers and the patterned papers and flowers are from my friend, Elaine.  I added stickles to the edges of the flowers.  I also added distress stickles in "Peeled Paint" to all the leaves on the sigi's. The button is from my stash.  The center stripe is from the flower paper that I cut out.  Unfortunetly, I glued the digi too far to the left, so had to find something to fill the rest of it and decided to add another flower children digi.

There will be two lucky winners from this challenge

Prize-$15 gc to store

Prize-4 stamp sheets

Incy Wincy #126 Jan 2nd Limited Runs Digi's

2 Jan 2012
Challenge #126
Anything Goes

 Prize Any 3 digi's @ store

Hope everyone survived the holiday season!!  I know I barely did!!  First off, we have what they call "Cedar Fever" down here in Texas!!  And if you have allergies (which I do), it's complete missery!!  An they say it's suppose to last past the middle of Feb!!  Oh yea...

Then we were suppose to be sponsored by Jen's Digi Stamps, then they went caput...of course, after most of us had made our cards!!  Luckily, we have our very own talented designer on our DT!!  Yea Nikki!!  So our new sponsor is Limited Runs Stamps.  You also have to make sure you check out her monthly challenge blog here.  Oh yea, she also has freebies and a candy for every follower!!  So go check it out...

Back to my card...the purple & yellow bg papers are scraps and the purple ribbon paper was left over from a kit that I had bought to make a book for my daughter when I first started doing scrap booking.  The ribbon only went down two of the sides, so I cut out a piece from another side and added it to the bottom.  There were hats also in the corners, so I cut one of them out and added the flower, instead.  Originally, the bunny had a bow on top of her head so I cut it off and replaced it with the hat.  I thought it was just too cute!!  The purple flowers are from my scraps and the yellow's are metal with rhinestone flowers in the middle.

Silhouette Card

I made this card quite a few months ago, but got sick and sort of forgot about it.  I don't know where I got it from, though.  The red paper I distressed, added the "Kaleidoscope" border using the Bordabilities Dies, adding rhinestones from my stash and flowers that I got from my friend Elaine.  I know, I love all the stuff she sent me when we did our swap, so get used to me saying that!! haha...

I made two cards today.  The first one is using the "Victorian Fan" digi from  "priscilla styles" Store and the second one is "Olly in the Tub" from Anne's Digital Art  .  On both cards I used up some of the never endless supply of scrap paper.

The top card was made a little different.  I distressed it every way possible.  I ripped, inked and burnt it.  The letter were punched from punches from "Cutting Edge".  I used Tim Holtz's distress ink in "Vintage Photo" and "Antique Linen" on everything!! ha ha...The flowers are from Prima, lace is scraps, and the butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch.  The metal leaves were silver that I tried to distress.  I found a mix online that said to mix vinager and bleach.  It's nasty but worked ok.

The embossing on the bottom card I did from one of my old metal embossing plates.  I went over it with distress ink in "fired brick".  I added some flowers from Prima and pearls.

Incy Wincy Aug 1st Challenge #105 Monocromatic

 1 Aug 11
Challenge #105
Monochromatic

This week we are being sponsored by Floppy Latte Designs.    Our challenge for this week is monochromatic.  If you have trouble with the exact shades of being monochromatic, see the color circle at the bottom of this post.

Now onto my card.  A few weeks ago I used a silhouette for the first time and am just in love with them now.  This one is called "Butterfly Solace".  Instead of coloring the background, I sponge painted it in "Peeled Paint" and "Broken China".  The die on the outside is Lattice Rectangle and "Crown Oval" on the inside.  The flowers, pearls, and ribbon finish it off.

Both the digi and patterned papers are from FLD.  For the papers on the inside, I used 2 different shades of greens and embossed the die with "Peeled Paint".

Recipe: digi and patterned papers-Floppy Latte Designs, dies-"Lattice Rectangle" and "Crowned Ovals", plain papers-Bazzill, ink-distress in "Peeled Paint" and "Broken China", flowers-Prima, pearls- Kaiser Crafts, lace-Hero Arts.

You have to remember that monochromatic means shades of one color, not different colors of one color.  If you have trouble with it, you can check it out the picture below.  Hope this helps.

Mrs. Peter Rabbit Series ATC's cards with box

    July 11
Nicecrane Designs
Mrs. Peter Rabbit Series ATC's
with Fascinating Fantasy Paper

I made the box with Bazzill paper, ribbon sprayed with Glimmer Mist in "Garden Fairy" and flowers from K & Co decorated with stickles and  rhinestones.

To make the card I used the same Bazzill paper as the box and  paper from the Fascinating Fantasy Paper pack.  I sprayed the patterned paper with a clear glimmer mist that I had made from water and Perfect Pearls.  I then added the same flowers to match the box and made the folded frames to put the ATC pictures in.  You can find all the directions for them online here at http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/.

There are 8 pics in the set but I only used 5 different ones for the card set that I made.  Each card will all be exactly the same, except that each one will have a different ATC picture in the center.

Here's one of them.  I won't make this post too long by showing you every single one of them.

I got to pick an image from Teri, the master creator behind Delicious Doodles.  Since our theme is Things With Wings", I picked this hot little number.  I angeled her on a diagonal, added some flowers, pearls, butterfly's, stickles, and sparkly ribbon.  The butterflies were cut out with a punch from Martha Stewart.

House Mouse Challenge #97
Adorn With Jewels

I haven't entered a House Mouse challenge since Christmas, so I thought that it was about time to enter one again.
I used the "Relaxing Bubbles" digi for this challenge with papers from American Crafts "Botanique" line.  I added a few white sticky dots as bubbles.  When I ran it through my Provo Craft Die cutter, to cut out the scallop circle, it smooshed them in the paper.  Sort of looks cool that way.  I added some jewel bead strings and a butterfly.  The butterfly is also from American Crafts.

I made this challenge to fit the following challenges:

We want to see clean and simple on you cards this week.  No fancy hoopla or lots of bling...

I used the "Madison The Bride" digi for my card and colored her in purple tones, printed the pp off my computer, cut out some ribbon, added a charm, and dotted the flower in her hair, her ribbons, and the bottom of her dress with stickles.  I think she's just too adorable.

This week we are being sponsored by Joanna Sheen.  One lucky person get a $10 voucher to the store.

This weeks challenge is an easy, peasy one.  Anything Goes.  Whatever your hearts desires.  I got to pick my digi from Stephanie, the talented artist behind GlitterBabes.  You can find all her digi's at Stitchy Bear Stamps.

I'm a little outside my comfort zone on this one.  I usually don't do animals. I'm trying to do new things and push the envelope, as far as my typical cards that I make..  But this is another card I'm not real thrilled about.

Recipe:  digi-GlitterBabe "2horses", paper-scraps, flowers-Prima, chipboard-K & Co "Amy Butler", distress ink-Tim Holtz "antique linen".
Don't forget about the newsletters.  You get all the lastest updates when the designers add new digi's and a free digi.  This week the newsletter spotlights are very own Deb R.  It's free, so why not sign up now?  You can find all the info on the right side of the main page here.

Nicecrane Designs Card

14 May 11
Here's another card I made using Nicecrane Designs dig's and papers.  This time I used the "Tell Me Stories" line.  This whole set is just adorable. I
colored and attached it to the papers from the "Grunge Nature" ATC paper line.   The other half of the paper is a liner paper from the inside of a scrap booking album.
I used the sketch for this card from Fussy and Fancy Challenge.

Here's the samples of the paper pack and digi's that I used.

Here's the link for the "Grunge Nature" papers-

Our sponsor this week is
prize is 5 digi's of your choice

For this weeks challenge I got to play with a digi and papers from June at Dezinaworld.  I was so excited when she came out with them a couple weeks ago and that I got to pick them out this week.  I used three different papers from the paper pack.  I popped the girl and the birdhouse.  For the birdhouse, I put it over one that was printed on the paper.  You can find all her designs, along with all the other designer's at Stitchy Bear Stamps.

It's a good thing that the easel card counts as a fancy fold, because it's the one that I do the best at.  That and one of the few that I can actually do.

Recipe:  paper-"Shabby Chic" pack, digi-Spring Girl, pearls-Prima "e" & "Say it in pearls", flowers-Prima "Essentials", and "silver" & "diamond" stickles-around the bottom of her hat, buttons on jacket and flower on birdhouse. (You can't even see them)

One Stitch At A Time Challenge #58

17 Apr 11
#58-Sassy

Here's my big news I was talking about a little while ago.  I was invited to be on the One Stitch At A Time Challenge DT.  The darling Stitchy invited me herself.  I'm soooo excited-plus this is going to save me soooooooo much money now that I don't have to buy the digi's & papers..haha.

OK-on to my first card as a DT member...

This week is all about being "Sassy".  What do you think?  Does she say sassy enough to you?  I tried to make her look like she was sitting in a tulip garden, being what else, but sassy!!  Instead of having her on the circle, I made it look like she's coming out of it, this time.  I cut some of the tulips from the paper and popped them and added stickles for some glitz (not sure if you can see it though).
Let me know what you think, please..

Recipe: paper-Toucan Scraps "Tulips", digi-Kelley's Kids "Bubu Fairy", diamond and waterfall stickles, and "circle" die

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges: Simon Says "For a Child"

Make a Pocket Card

This weeks challenge is all about making a pocket card.  I made a Diagonal Double Pocket Card.  You can find the instructions on Splitcoast Stampers here.  It's actually quit simple.  I left the tags and inside blank, so whomever gets the card, can write whatever they want on it.

Michelle Perkett DT card

 24 Feb 11

This is the card I made for the DT call at Michelle Perkett Studio

I used the "Princess Fairy" digi and decorated her with stickles.  The papers and lace are from the endless pile of scraps.  (Can someone please help me make them disappear so that I can buy new stuff)..haha.  I printed the saying off my computer and cut it out with the "Labels 4" dies.  Keep your fingers crossed for me and hope you enjoy it....
