Kelley's Kids Oct 5th Challenge #10 Black & White

Welcome to this weeks challenge.  We would like you to use black and white.  I used the "Ghostie" digi on a spinner card.  You have to look close to tell it's a spinner card.  I couldn't get a good picture.  You can find all the directions on Splitcoast Stampers.  How cute is he or she??  I embossed the ghost by hand, making little dots on it,  using some old metal embossing tags.  (It's been so long, that I can't remember what they are exactly called-sorry).  The papers are from Heather Jolly's new Halloween set.  They are not on the blog as of when I am writing this, but they might be by time this is posted.  You have to check them out.  She also did some colored ones, too.  The ribbons are from Maya Road.

Kelley's Kids Sept 28th Challenge #9 Anniversary

Wed, 28 Sept 11
Challenge #9
Anniversary

For this weeks challenge we want you to bring out the romantic side of yourselves.  Let's see those wonderful anniversary cards.
The digi that I picked out to use for this week is part of the set that I've used before called "Silhouette Hearts".  This one is the "Swan Hearts".  I printed it out on something I haven't used before (and don't know the name of), but will try to explain it as best as possible.  If someone can help me out here, I'd appreciate it!!  It's a white, semi-transparent piece of velum type of paper with thread through it. (Sorry, but that's the best that I can do).
I had asked Heather to make a paper and embellishment kit off my shower curtain and this is what she came up with. I'm so in love with set and I'm sure you will be seeing more of it on my cards!!  It just seems like I never can get enough of her papers.  These are called "Shabby Chic", which you can find here.  I used 3 different papers from the set along with a bunch of the embellishments. The flowers are from Petaloo & Prima, ribbon and brads are stash.

This is the inside of the card.  I found this little poem online, but oops...I forgot to write down the link.  Sorry.  Using the Gimp program, I put the poem in this journal, which is one of elements with this set.  I also added the buttons and flowers, also elements in the set.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it...
It's the last Wednesday of the month, which means Sassy Studio Time!!  Here is my Sassy Studio card for this week.  It's called Romeo & Juliet.  The papers are from MME and the rest is stash.  I did something a little different for me and cut out the hole in the front of the card so that you can see the digi inside the card from the outside.  This is another first for me!!

I used the same paper for the die cut in the insdie of the card as I used for the outside of the card.
The winner(s) will receive:
1st place 3 images of choice
2nd place 2 images of choice
3rd place one image of choice
If you use one of Kelley Kid’s images you will get one extra image of your choice.  So play with us with Kelley Kid’s.

Kelley's Kids Sept 21st Challenge #8 Big Boys

Challenge #8
Big Boys

This week is all about the boys.  To tell you the truth, I really had a hard time with this one, and am glad it's over with!!  These are the hardest cards for me to make.  You can't really embellish them too much and get limited on the colors.  Oh well, I survived...

I used the digi called "Oliver Painting".  You can find him and the rest of Bonna's wonderful digi's only at Stitchy Bear Stamps.  I used scraps of papers from Basic Grey and Cosmo Cricut.  The buttons and ribbon are also from my stash.
**The Stitchy site is still having trouble.  You can find Kelley's Kids digi's HERE.

The winner(s) will receive:

This week is all about your loved ones. We would like you to make a card for that someone special in your life (or you can just pretend)..ha ha.  I made a criss-cross card.  You can find all the directions at Splitcoast Stampers.  My digi for this week is called "Silhouette Heart #1". There is a set of 5 of them, and you can find them on Stitchy Bear here.   The lace and ribbon for the front part is from my stash.  Seems like I've been using my stash alot lately and it never gets any less.

For the inside of the card I used the "Lattice Rectangle" dies that I had already embossed with Cuttlebug's "Moroccan Screen" folder and added stickles to the edges to attach it to.  The silver swirls are from my daughter as part of my Christmas present last year.

The saying on the back of the inside part I got from Love Poems and Quotes.  I use this site alot when I need something good to say for my cards.

Wow!!  Can't believe we've been up for a month now!!  I hope everyone is enjoying all the great inspiration from the DT.  This week we want to see your best "Girly Girl" cards.  I used the "Dress Up" digi.  You can find all of Kelley's Kids digi at Stitchy Bear Stamps

This week we want to see your best "Girly Girl" cards.  The papers are from Heather's Poppies kit.  The frame is also from the kit.  I used Distress Crackle Paint from Ranger in "Brushed Pewter" on the center of the frame to give it an aged look.  The flowers, ribbon and pearls are from my stash.  Stickles were added to different parts of her outfit to give it some sparkle.
Here's a close up of the frame so that you can see the crackle detail's..

Kelley's Kids Aug 31st Challenge #5 Summer/Bright Colors

Sept 3rd
Kelley's Kids
Challenge #5
Summer/Bright Colors

Can't believe we are on week 5 already!!  I hope you all are enjoying it.  This week we want you to use either a summer theme or bright colors.  For this card, I went with both.   As soon as we got the challenge theme, I knew which digi and papers I wanted to use.  The digi is "Kate With a Frog", which you can only find at Kelley's Kids, on Stitchy Bear Stamps and the papers are from Heather Jolly called "Sherbert".  You can find all of Heather's papers here.  The best part of all is that all of Heather's paper kits are free to download!!
I used the "Daisy Patch" Shapabilities die to and added some pink and red distress ink to it so that it would bring it out a little.  I also added stickles to the embossed flower parts.  Then I cut out Kate and put her on another paper inside the Daisy Patch frame.  All the embellies are from the same kit as the papers that I printed and cut out.

The winner(s) will receive:
1st place 3 images of choice
2nd place 2 images of choice
3rd place one image of choice
If you use one of Kelley Kid’s images you will get one extra image of your choice. So play with us with Kelley Kid’s.
Winners must contact us within 7 days of being selected to claim their prize

And we have a surprise for you!!
On the last Wednesday of every month, Sassy Studio Designs will be sponsoring us and is giving one lucky winner your choice of 4 digi's!!  How cool is that??

Here's my second card, following this weeks theme (the bright colors part), using a Sassy Studio image.  The digi is called "Back to School Brittany".  Once again, the papers are from Heather Jolly.  I just can't seem to get enough of her kits!! This kit is called "Punkberry" and it just came out, so go check it out.
I used 4 different papers from the pack.  On the first layer, I used a pink paper that I distressed and ink the edges in pink.  The second layer, I also distressed.  The next paper I used the "Crown Circles" Nesties die on and the last paper is the butterfly.  I cut out a couple of them and stacked them, folding the top one up and added stickles.  All the embellies are also from this kit.  I added the "Happy Birthday" saying using the Picasa program.  I cut a small slit in the envelope and stuck in the metal heart.  It has a hole at the top to add a jump ring and chain for a great present.

Ha ha..I just realized while posting this, that both cards are birthday.  That was totally accidental...

Don't forget to check out all the DT's work and leave them some love...

Sketch

This weeks challenge is a sketch.  You can flip it or what ever you want to, as long as we can still see that you've followed the sketch.

For my card this week, I used Abby's First Camera, which you can only find on Stitchy Bear Stamps.  Once I saw this digi I knew the papers that were going to fit it perfectly.  The papers and tag are from Bo Bunny's "Mama Razzi" line and the ribbon is from Maya Road.  I distressed the edges and used Tim Holtz's ink in "Tea Dye".

Kelley's Kids Challenge 8/17 #3 Pink & Brown

17 Aug 11
Challenge #3
Pink & Brown

Welcome to another Kelley Kid's Challenge.  Hope everyone is enjoying these new challenges!!  I know I am.  I absolutely love these digi's.  And don't forget if you use a KK digi and win, you get the one extra digi.  You can find all of Kelly Kid's digi on Stitchy Bear Stamps Store.

For my card this week I went with an Easel card.  I thought that the sentiment would be a perfect place to be put on the bottom of an Easel card.  I used the "Sisters2" digi this week.  All the papers are from a friend of mine at Sunshynehs Blog from Heather Jolly.  You may have seen a card of mine that was black and white + 1 color.  This is the other half of those papers named "Renee".  After coloring the digi in with my Copics, I cut them out and used some sticky tabs to raise both the digi and the die.  The sentiment was printed off my computer on papers that I had printed out first and cut out using the "Labels 4" die.  A few pearls, rhinestones, flowers, ribbon and leaves were added to finish it off.
Recipe: digi-"Sisters2", paper-Heather Jolly "Renee-Colors" and Fab Father's (brown), dies-"Lattice Rectangles" and "Labels 4", ribbon-"Generations", flowers-"Prima e." and "Creative Charms", pearls & rhinestone "Prima e.", and the leaves are from flowers that I've taken apart from other projects.

Kelley's Kids Challenge#2 Aug 8th Bring on the Babies

8 Aug 11
Challenge #2
Bring on the Babies

Hope everyone enjoyed the first every Kelley Kids Challenge.  Congratulations to all of those of you who won.  And if you were one of the unlucky ones who didn't win, just keep on trying!!  You'll win eventually.

For our second challenge, we want you to use baby digi's.  I used the "Freedom" digi.  How can you pass up this cute little butt?  You know we all have pictures like this.  The papers are from the endless stash.  I used the Labels die in three different sizes.  The sentiment is from my computer that I had embossed with "Tea Dye".  It's tough to add just the right amount of embellies and not go over board for a card with a little boy on it.
Recipe: digi Kelley's Kids "Freedom", papers-stash, bows-Sweet Touch, flowers-Colorbok, distress ink-"Tea Dye".
Wood Hanging

I decided to make a second project for this.  First I had to cut and sand down a piece of wood.  Then I added a coat of green acrylic paint.  Once it was dry, I painted on a pretty thick coat of old fashion crackle gel.  No short cuts on this project.  Depending on how big you want your crackles, is how thick or thin you add the crackle gel. Once it dried to a tacky feel, I added the light gold color.  I picked the colors to match my bathroom.  I added the raffia to the wires for just a punch of something(?)...

The frame is from the "Poppies" kit from Heather Jolly.  Using a new program I've been playing with, I inserted the digi and then added the words.  If you look at the closeup, you can see that I used Ranger's Distress Stickles in "Frosted Lace" for the pitcher and bowl to give them an aged look.

Hope you like both of my projects...
