6 months???

Um ok it's been six months since my last post. That is sad, sad, sad. But we are busy, busy, busy!  And my work blocks blogger or I would post on my lunch break!  No one is probably even checking this sure anymore, but I really only blog for us anyway. One day I hope to have the blog printed... One day!!!

School is almost out for Christmas break!  Lauren is so excited!  Catherine doesn't really know about school breaks yet. 

She is a duck hunter in training!!! Sweet girl is so girly but she loves to be outside too!

And this one wants to go with her sissy everywhere. 

I hope they stay thick as thieves as they get older!!!

We are ready for daddy to be home for Christmas!!! Grateful that his work schedule allows him to be off again with us. He was home for thanksgiving too!!

Lauren drew us as a family of turkeys. Hahaha!

On the lake

We love living on the lake!  The views are beautiful. 

And this time of year we love to go boat riding. Everyone gets to go!  

Sometimes even Molly rides too. Tonight we rode all the way into Texas. The girls love it!

Schools out for the summer!

Well Lauren successfully completed Kindergarten!  She is officially a 1st grader. Time is flying!

Catherine is a two year ball of energy!

Life is good. We are staying busy when Trey is working his 14 days off. But we sure do look forward to those 14 days at home!

Looking forward to going to the beach in a few weeks!  It will be Lauren's first time to go, and of course Catherine's first. Trey did not grow up going to the beach every summer like I did so I hope he doesn't get bored!  We will have to being plenty of shovels and buckets for him to build us some sand castles!

I'm hoping to get blogger back up and running from home soon. Hopefully then the picture quality will be better with the real camera and not just iPhone photos!

It's about time

It's about time for an update on the blog... it's been almost 4 months!  We've just been busy doing life.  I look around and time is flying by.  I can't believe Lauren is almost half way through with Kindergarten, and Catherine is almost 21 months old.

Lauren was Snow White for Halloween and Catherine was a Ladybug.  We had a great time trick or treating with Jen and the cousins.  Trey made it home for Halloween and we were able to all go trick or treating together!

 

 

In the first of November we had our college friends over to our house.  It was so much fun to have everyone (minus the Fortenberrys!)  I love this picture of all our babies!

 

 

When we aren't going to work and school, we try to be outside playing and having fun! 

 

 

Trey wasn't able to be home for Thanksgiving because of the new "normal" work schedule, but we are looking forward to having him home for Christmas!

Maybe he'll help the girls play dress up again...   :)

 

 

I know I say this all the time, but these girls really love each other.  I recently moved Catherine to a new daycare (the same one that we have for Lauren after school), and the week that Catherine started was the week school was out for Thanksgiving.  So Lauren was able to be there with Catherine that week and I know that helped her be more comfortable and not fussy.  She loves her "Sissy"!

 

Every day when I pick the girls up I usually get Lauren first.  Then we walk to Catherine's classroom and Catherine always has the biggest smile on her face when she sees us come through the door.  Her teachers tell me that starting at about 4:00 pm she starts saying, "Momma, Sissy?" over and over again.  She knows I'll be there soon!

 

 

 

Hopefully I'll have another update before Christmas, and several after!  Maybe my New Year's resolution should be to update the blog more. 

 

Happy Birthday Lauren!!!

My baby is FIVE years old today!  It has literally flown by and I can't believe how fast she is growing up.  She is the sweetest, most loving, and happiest little love bug ever and I'm so proud to be her Momma.  Everywhere we go she is complimented on her smile and how happy and sweet she is.  She is a hugger, like her Momma, and wears her heart on her sleeve, like her Momma too.  I'm going to have to teach her to toughen up just a little, but I love that she is so loving and sweet too.  And funny!  She makes me laugh so hard sometimes!  I wish I could write down everyday the funny things she says, but we laugh a LOT!

She adores her sister and Catherine loves her too.  I'm so glad they have each other!  We are a blessed family and I thank God everyday for what He has given us.

Happy Birthday Lauren!  I love you, baby!!!

Kindergarten!

Lauren's first day of Kindergarten was Friday.  She was so excited and did GREAT!  I think she was the happiest child in the classroom... no, really.  She was ALL smiles and gave me a huge hug before I left and told me to have a great day, after I said the same to her.

Her teacher is so sweet and has been teaching for a while and was so patient.  Lauren actually chased her down for a hug, no more than 5 minutes into being in the classroom.  I love my little love bug!

And I love that they wear uniforms!  No more arguing in the mornings about what to wear!!!  I didn't even buy her any shorts because I knew she would never wear them.  So, jumpers and skirts it is!  I did buy one pair on pants for when it gets colder, but who am I kidding?  It won't be cold until Christmas, so I also have navy blue leggings to wear under her uniform bottoms.

I think she is going to do great this year and I'm so glad I didn't hold her back another year... since she doesn't turn 5 until tomorrow!  I'll have another post for that too!
