my new venture

I am so excited that I am now a thirty-one consultant! If you haven't heard of thirty-one, you can check out their catalogs here. They have wonderful totes, purses, a great kid line and some fun stationary! There is definitely something for everyone! I also love that the company is a faith based company. The company name is actually from Proverbs 31. Their motto is to celebrate, encourage and reward. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Cade's funny sayings from the week

Both boys are always making me laugh, but this week Cade has said 2 things that make me laugh every time I think about them!

*On the way home from Mom's Day Out I asked Cade how his day was. Actually he asked me to ask him how his day was. He always says, "How's my day mom?" To which I have to ask, "How was your day, Cade?". Anyways....he said he had one. Confused I prodded more and figured out he used one finger to paint. I asked him what he painted and he said, "bluebottoms." I told him they were called bluebonnets, but he disagreed.

*Today Matt was getting on to Cade and called him son. After it was all over Matt walked out and Cade looked at me and said, "He called me sun and I'm not even in the sky!" He was so appalled.

It's rodeo time!

Yesterday was Rodeo day at school. I tried to get a picture of the boys, but this is the only picture I got. If you look closely Cade is crossing his eyes. I have no idea who taught him this. One day he just looked at me crossed eyed and said he saw two mommies. It was a proud moment.

The trailriders stopped by the school on their way into town. We sang songs to them and then the church served them lunch.

Cade

They're here!!!

Mom came up to the school to see the trailriders, also!

Cade's class stayed outside and had a picnic lunch. He loved his "picmic".

My big 2 year old

On February 22nd Reid turned 2. My sweet little boy is getting so big. He is 35 1/2 inches (75-90%) tall and 29 1/2 pounds (50-75%)!! Reid is a happy little boy and is starting to be a little shy. His speech is very good, often surprising us by what he says. Reid loves to carry toys around, the more the better. He loves cars, trains, fire trucks, little figures (like his Sesame Street characters), buses, his PEZ dispenser and food. Reid is like any other kid, sometimes he eats and sometimes he doesn't. However, when Reid decides to eat, he eats a lot! Sometimes I don't think he stops. Reid also loves music. He often sings to himself in bed and sings along to the music in the car. He likes to sing Twinkle Twinkle, the ABC's, Row Row Row Your Boat and Zacchaeus a wee little man). Reid is a great little brother. Him and Cade have been playing together well lately. Reid does almost everything Cade does, just like most little brothers do to their older brothers. He makes us all laugh and to hear him laugh is one of my favorite sounds.
Happy Birthday my sweet little man.

Reid's birthday breakfast.

I asked Reid where he wanted to go have dinner for his birthday. His answer was Chick-fil-A. He also asked for cake. So we went to Chick-fil-A and had cupcakes! He was one happy 2 year old!

Happy 2nd Birthday Reid!

Reid had a Sesame Street birthday party with a few friends to celebrate his 2nd birthday. He had so much fun and the party went well. We had Elmo's favorite food, pizza, for lunch along with cake and ice cream. The kids had fun coloring, playing with play-dough and playing in the playroom. We also played a game of hot potato with an Elmo doll and pin the nose on Elmo.

Reid got these sesame street character for Christmas. He LOVES carrying them around so I decided to incorporate them on the cake.

The goody bags (gotta love photoshop elements!)

Sweet little Lexie got to come to her first birthday party! I think I could pass her off as my own and keep her....don't you think! She is beautiful.

We played pin the nose on Elmo. Reid decided that he would just pull the blindfold down a little so he could see. Such a smart little guy! :)

lunch time!

Reid couldn't figure out how to hold up the number 2 with one hand so he just decided to hold up 1 finger up from each hand. I thought that was so smart of him. I thought maybe his teachers at school taught him, but they said they didn't. I guess he is just a natural genius! :)

Reid blew out his candles like a pro!

Presents!!!!! Reid was excited about everything....so were his friends. It was really sweet.

These are the contents of the goodie bag along with a sesame street coloring book. Again, gotta love photoshop elements! :)

The night of the party Reid was already playing with all his presents and wearing his new PJ's. I don't think his smile could have gotten any bigger! What a fun day.

Mimi's 2nd annual Valentine's lunch

My mom had her second annual Valentine's lunch for the grand kids the day before Valentine's. We love this tradition because Matt and I get to leave and have our own Valentine's lunch at the same time! My mom went all out, as always, and decorated so cute! Each of the kids got a basket of goodies, also. The roses in the middle of the table are from my dad to my mom. They were beautiful! Mom made 3 kinds of sandwiches, all heart shaped of course. She also had some pinwheel sandwiches, strawberries, grapes, cheetos, a homemade cheerio mix and lots of candy.

My mom has made these cookies every year for Valentine's for as long as I can remember. When we were little she would write all the kids names from our class on them. That was back when homemade foods were allowed at the "holiday" parties. My how times have changed.

I loved these cupcake picks and bag toppers Mom found at Hobby Lobby. They looked like vintage Valentine cards. I also think it was funny that Cade wouldn't eat any of the cupcakes that had the girl Valentine on them. He said those were for girls and the other ones were for boys. I guess you can say that I had no choice but to eat a cupcake or two......maybe three!

The kids table all set up

The boys and their Mimi

Matt and I were long gone during all this. :)
Afterwards the boys had so much fun playing around.
Madison....I don't think I have ever seen a bad picture of that girl. She is just so pretty.

Thanks Mimi!!!

Sesame Street Live

Matt and I took the boys to Sesame Street Live a few weeks ago. They both loved it! During intermission Reid got his hair spray painted blue. He thought he was pretty cool. Cade would have nothing to do with spray painted hair. I was shocked at how much people pay at those shows. When I saw elmo balloons...just the regular old balloons you can buy at the grocery store...being sold for $10 I was shocked. When I saw one guy walk away with 5 of them I was even more shocked! Regardless, the boys had a blast!

Reid and his blue hair....you can barely tell.....good thing it was free!

Waiting for the show to start. Thanks Mimi for outfitting the boys in their elmo shirts!

A Good One

This morning was just one of those good ones. I had to go get the car inspected, meet Cade's friend for lunch and then head to Target. It had the potential for some big fits. Today, however, was perfect. The boys were SO good....not one problem! They were even asleep by the time we got home. It's mornings like this that make those bad days ok.
