a new trick
Cade learned a new trick at Mimi's today all by himself.......uh oh! Guess those fruit snacks are going on the next shelf up! I do have to say that he was quite resourceful....I don't think he has ever seen anyone use that little step stool!

mini Tech reunion
This past Saturday we drove out to Beaumont with the Meers to visit Stacy and Kris and their new precious baby Lily. Our dear friend Kathy also came in town to stay with them. Kathy brought her sweet little boy, Aiden. It was our first time to meet Lily and Aiden and they were both so adorable. Kris grilled out some burgers and hot dogs and we had a great time visiting. It was really nice when the daddy's took all the older kids outside to play, it's amazing how 3 kids can be so loud! We had so much fun catching up. I hate that both of them live so far away that we can't get together with them more often.
Alan and Lily.....and Kris being goofy.
Stacy and baby Lily, Me and Reid, Kathy and Aiden and Jennifer. We tried to get Cade, Maci and Payton in the picture but they were too busy playing.
Has Cade met his match???
Payton loves Mr. Kris
I LOVE this picture of Payton, Cade and Maci.

feeding the ducks
Last week my friend Michelle and I took our boys to feed the ducks. While we were in the parking lot Michelle asked Keegan to hold Cade's hand and they actually held hands!! I was so impressed. It was the cutest thing ever. We asked them to hold hands again when we were walking to feed different ducks and they did it again! I love it! When we fed the ducks Cade did well until he decided that he wanted to get close to the ducks to give them food....the ducks thought he was chasing them. Needless to say, we had to find different ducks to feed! Once the ducks were all full and didn't want anymore of our bread we took the boys to McDonalds. Cade and Keegan had fun with the slide. It was also great to sit and be able to talk girl talk with Michelle while the boys were playing. It was a fun little play date!

Happy 2 months, Reid!
Wow, Reid is already 2 months old. He went to the doctor this morning and got 4 shots and 1 oral immunization! Poor guy. He weighed 13 lbs 3 oz and was 24 inches long. (That's the exact same height and only 9 oz smaller than Cade at 2 months!) Overall, Reid is doing really well. He has a wonderful smile and those blue eyes, I just can't get over them. I hope they stay blue! He has also been cooing quite a bit. He enjoys being outside and is liking his swing and bouncy seat a little more everyday. Reid loves being the baby bjorn when we are out and about, he falls asleep in it every time! This morning when I was trying to take Reid's picture with his monkey Cade wanted to be in the picture. I finally got him away by having him help take the picture. Cade really loves his brother, always hugging and kissing him. The other day I went to pick Cade up from mom's day out and Cade knew I was there because he heard Reid crying. He is always so concerned when he cries and tries to give him his pacifier. I can't wait to see the relationship between those two grow.
Happy 2 months Reid!
Happy 35th anniversary HNW
Our church, Houston Northwest, celebrated it's 35th anniversary this past weekend. They had a picnic lunch for everyone with TONS of food, inflatables for the kids, and live music. Matt along with many people from our Sunday School class helped prepare and serve the food. It was perfect weather and a ton of fun.
Cade trying to be a helper for Zach. Thank you Mimi for the matching outfits. Reid had his on too, but he was sleeping peacefully in the baby bjorn.

Ready to serve. The food was very good....brisket, chicken, jambalaya, gumbo, beans, potatoes and hot dogs for the kids!

Matt was a trooper and took Cade on a couple of the inflatable slides. This one didn't slide too well, they just bounced down!
Cade, with bus in hand. Thank you Mrs. Davis! I can't tell you how much he loves his new bus!
This slide was much better. Every time they got to the bottom Cade would say, "again, again".
Happy anniversary HNW!

Mr. Tough Guy
Poor Reid has taken a beating today. This morning Reid was laying on Cade's bed while I picked out Cade's clothes. All of the sudden Cade decided to throw his little plastic bus at Reid. It hit him on his right eyebrow. It swelled up and turned red right away. Needless to say, Cade had some room time and his bus taken away. After Reid was calm I got everyone ready and off to Wal-Mart we went. Cade did really well, which was a nice surprise because he normally won't stay in the cart very long. After awhile I decided to reward him by giving him his bus back. He sat the rest of the time in the cart playing with his bus and eating bees (graham crackers shaped like bees). We got in the car and I was feeling pretty accomplished....I made it through my first grocery shopping experience with both kiddos (I usually go on Tues while Cade is at mom's day out). About half way home there goes the bus again. Cade threw it at Reid again! He calmed down pretty quick so I didn't pull over. When we got home I realized that this time he got hit right in the middle of his forehead in the hairline. There was a big bump, a tiny cut and the blood had already dried. This time Cade got a spanking and the bus was taken away again. I knew the day was coming when Reid would get injured by Cade, I guess I need to be thankful that it was VERY minor. I felt so bad for Reid, but he is actually doing really well. He is normally fussy in the evenings, but today he is happy. I am going to give Cade his bus back in the morning, let's hope tomorrow is better!

Bluebonnets
Matt and I drove out to Brenham with the boys to take pictures in the bluebonnets this past Saturday. Besides being a bit cool, it was a gorgeous day. When we first got there we walked out into the field and Cade just sat down. He took some great pictures and then decided he didn't like the bluebonnets much anymore. I guess he started getting a bit itchy. It wasn't until we were about to leave that he would actually walk in the bluebonnets again. Reid took some great pictures with Matt. Towards the end he got quite cranky, too. I'm pretty sure he was sick of the wind because as soon as we got in the car he stopped. We stopped at the McDonald's in Brenham (which no one there is in a hurry) with some hungry kiddos and then headed home. Between this trip and the zoo our boys did really well. I am encouraged to do more family outings and what better time than spring!

Zoo fun
Matt and I took the boys to the zoo this past Friday. I think Cade was a bit more excited about all the buses from the school groups and the water in with the animals than anything else. We did have a great time, though. It was so nice having Matt home an extra day too!

Cade was VERY excited to ride the bear. Last time we rode a carousel he didn't really like it, but this time he threw a fit when we had to get off!
Snack break.....eating bears of course!
I was very impressed by these flamingos. Can you sleep standing on one leg???
We walked to a nice little picnic place afterwards and ate our lunch. By this time Cade had kicked his shoes off which ended up being a bit of a blessing. Cade HATES walking on grass with no shoes on. I guess that's one way to keep him on the blanket!

Reid enjoyed the picnic, too!

thumb sucker???
Ever since I started giving Reid a pacifier he hasn't seem too interested. I still attempt to give it to him, but usually it doesn't help to soothe him. Over the last few days Matt and I have noticed him sucking on his thumb/hand. I am trying hard to push the paci, but I may just lose this battle. I guess some kids are just born thumb suckers!

quite a haircut
So, how many people do you think it takes to cut a 21 month old little boys hair? If your talking about my 21 month old, it's 3! What you don't see is that Matt (the one cutting his hair) has him tied in the chair around his waist. He just took the drape that they usually put over you and put it around Cade's stomach and tied it to the back of the chair! He must have done this before! Matt even had Cade in a headlock at one point to get him to stay still so he could cut the back straight! No harm was done and it turned out great.
A sucker for a good job?!?!?! Too bad he only wanted a few licks. I thought Cade was all better, but he decided that he wanted Mr. Larry's car (you can see it in the picture above sitting next to Cade). He threw a FIT when we had to leave without it. I guess I just can't win!

Smile!
Reid has really been smiling a lot lately. I thought I would share a few of those smiles with you. You can tell that he has put on some weight in his first 6 weeks of life!

This morning Cade wanted to eat bears (teddy grahams) for breakfast. He has decided that he doesn't like oatmeal anymore and won't eat any other breakfast foods. I think breakfast is the hardest meal to come up with stuff that he can eat that doesn't have milk, eggs or cashews in it. He is a picky eater anyway so that makes it extra hard. Anyway, we had a TV tray left out from last night and Cade decided he wanted to eat his bears like daddy. Sorry Matt!
