A house for Christmas!!!

So, I am getting the best present ever this year! We have moved into a house! Hooray!!!! We are so excited to be in our home and to be in Ellensburg. The only way to make it more perfect is if I could have packed my friends in boxes and brought them with me. We are all excited to spend Christmas in our new house. I'll post more pics as I get things organized and cute. But, here is a picture of the outside.

Halloween

We had a great Halloween this year. A couple of days before Halloween, we got each of the kiddos a pumpkin and we spent the evening painting them. I thought this sounded easier than carving. On Halloween, we went to our ward's trunk or treat. The kids got plenty of candy and had a great time walking around and seeing their friends.

Lorin the black cat. Taigan the butterfly. Boston the lobster.

My little mischief maker

Boston loves to open the drawer under the oven, take out a few pans and climb into the drawer. He is constantly emptying my cupboards. He is such a little busy body. He keeps me on my toes and makes life crazy. I love him to pieces.

New Hair Cut

So, a couple of weeks ago I decided to chop my hair off. Yes, even shorter than it already was. When Trevor got home, he was definitely shocked. He said he liked it, and we went out on a date. However, the next day after I had washed it and done it my way, he commented that he liked it a lot better now. I asked him what he meant, and he told me that the first time he saw it, it kind of looked like I was wearing a helmet! And he let me go out like that! Anyway, it always looks better when you do it yourself. So, here is a picture of my new haircut. It's not the best picture, but it's the best one I have. Also, it had been raining, but you'll get the general idea.

Time to Catch Up

OK, so I have been a serious slacker as far as blogging goes. I always check everyone's blogs, but I never update mine. Boston turns into quite the beast when I get on the computer and the computer is in his room, so I can't blog while he naps. It's like the perfect storm to create zero blogging. Anyway, life is great. We are getting back in the swing of things now that school has started again. We had a great summer. The kids and I spent 3 weeks in Utah playing with the family. We did a lot of fun things while we were there. We spent 1 week at Bear Lake, we went to the redneck water slide (what a blast!), we went to the pool and we spent a lot of time playing in Nana's backyard. It was so nice to be able to spend time with everyone. We were all very ready to come home and exhausted by the end of the 3 weeks. Since getting back, we've been pretty low key. We have been to Ballard Locks (one of our favorite places to go), a Mariners game (we lost big time), and to several of the fun parks close to our apartment. The girls also participated in swim lessons every day for 4 weeks. I was definitely exhausted by the time they were over. All in all, we had a wonderful summer and were sad to see it end. Here are a few pics from all of our many adventures.

A New School Year

Today is the start of a new school year for us. Lorin is now a 2nd grader! I can't believe it. This year she will be in a 2nd/3rd grade split class. She's a little bit nervous about it, but she will do great! Taigan will be staying home with me and Boston this year. Preschool is just way too expensive up here. So, we will be doing preschool together. She's very excited for this. I hope that I can come up with some fun things for us to do. Boston is doing great. He's walking more and more each day. It won't be long before he is walking all over the house. Trevor and I are doing good. We're both staying plenty busy, which is better than being bored. Hopefully I'll get better at posting more regularly, but I won't hold my breath. I hope everyone is doing well.

Yes, we are still alive!

I've been the biggest slacker lately and I apologize for that. We had a very busy end of June and most of July. The kids and I spent 3 weeks in Utah visiting our families and having a very fun vacation. I'll post more about that later with lots of fun pictures too. We are all doing great. Boston is growing like a weed. At his nine month appointment, he weighed in at 20 lbs. 7 oz. and he is 28 3/4 inches long. He is crawling everywhere and standing up to everything. He likes to cruise around the furniture, so I don't think it will be much longer before he is walking. The girls are doing great. They just started swim lessons on Monday and are loving it. It is only Lorin's second round of swim lessons and she is swimming in 12 feet of water. That's a little bit scary for me! Taigan is making good progress. She will finally put her face in the water! Hooray!!! Trevor and I are doing great. We're staying extra busy with our church callings. For those of you that don't know, I am currently serving as the primary president, and while I was in Utah, Trevor was called to be the high priest group leader. So, between our two callings, Sundays are pretty crazy!!! Keep your eyes peeled for fun pictures and info about our great trip to Utah. All I can say is, red neck water slides are the best!

Tulip Festival

On the first Saturday in May, we took our annual trip to the tulip festival. We went with our good friends, The Cutlers and The Millers. We were a little nervous that the weather wasn't going to cooperate. It was raining as we left our house, but as we headed north it stopped and we were able to enjoy the tulips without getting wet. We love going to see the tulips. Even though this is the third year in a row we have gone, I never get tired of seeing all of the gorgeous flowers. The tulip fields are so beautiful. We all had a great time with our friends. After the festival, we all went out to dinner at a burger joint and had a great time visiting and laughing. I'm so grateful to have such good friends that have just become my family.

I think this picture is so hilarious. Taigan was not happy. She wanted to be the one to hold Boston on her lap.

I'm a big slacker!!

So, it's been a long time since I posted. Life just seems to be so busy and now Boston sleeps in the same room as the computer so when life does slow down, I don't have access to the computer. Anyway, we are all doing great and keeping busy. I don't have a lot of time to blog today, so I will just post a couple of recent pics for your viewing pleasure. Just quickly I'll give you Boston's stats. He is now 6 months old. He weighs 18 lbs. and is 27 1/2 inches long. He has cut 7 teeth and the 8th tooth is close to breaking through too! He's growing up way too quickly.

You've got to love those top teeth!

Boston loves sleeping on his hands, as you can plainly see!

Boston Loves His Cereal!

At Boston's 4 month appointment the doctor said we could start Boston on cereal. She usually likes to have babies wait until they turn 6 months before they start solids, but we are trying to get him to sleep a little longer. He's super naughty and still likes to wake up every 2-3 hours to eat. So I am mostly a zombie these days. Anyway, we started giving him cereal and he absolutely loves it! He didn't even pull a face on the first few bites. He just grabbed the spoon and helped me put it in his mouth. It hasn't helped him sleep any better, but he loves to eat! Also, he is cutting his top two teeth now! I can't believe it. He's going to have 4 teeth by the time he turns 5 months old! That's going to make nursing rather interesting

Time For An Update

So, it's been far too long since I last posted. Life just tends to get a little bit crazy and a little bit busy having three kids. We have all been doing great and nothing very exciting has been happening here. Here's a little update on all of the kids.

Lorin is still loving school and is doing so well there. She recently received an award at a school assembly. She was recognized for showing responsibility in her classroom. In this picture, she is standing with her classmate Samuel, holding her award. Lorin continues to enjoy gymnastics. She is doing so well and I can't believe how strong she is. She is constantly showing us all of the new things she is learning there. It's fun to see her enjoying life so much. She is such a sweet girl and such a big helper to me.

Taigan is doing great as well. She is really enjoying preschool and loves to help me with Boston. She is my little helper whether we're grocery shopping or cooking dinner. She is also taking gymnastics and absolutely loves it. She keeps us on our
toes and makes us laugh every day with her different facial expressions.

Boston is growing like a weed. He is now four months old. I can't believe it!!! He had a doctor's appointment today and here are the new stats. He weighs 16 lbs. 5 oz. and is 26 1/4 inches long. I can't believe how big he is. He is so much fun and is always smothered with attention and affection. Just over the last week he has started to roll over from his back to his tummy. He also cut his first tooth! Here he is at 4 months old. He has changed so much since birth.

Happy Birthday Taigan!

Wow! I can't believe that Taigan is 4 years old. Her birthday was on Jan. 11th. I can't believe how grown up she is. We love having her in our family. She is always making us laugh and keeping us on her toes. We lovingly refer to her as our little velociraptor because she is our little fence tester. She takes after Trevor in that way!

Anyway, she had been wanting to have a Tinkerbell party and invite lots of little friends. But as we went through the holidays, I just never got around to planning a party and all of the activities to go with it. So, about a week before her birthday I asked her if she would rather take her two best friends to Build-a-Bear instead of having a big party. Lucky for me she thought that was a great idea. So, the day after her birthday I took Taigan and her two best friends, Mason and Abby to Build-a-Bear. We had such a great time and we even stopped at the indoor playground at the mall after to play for a little while. We then came home and had cupcakes and ice cream and opened presents. It was the perfect little party.

Snow, Snow and more Snow!

So we, along with everyone else in December, had a lot of snow. It's very unusual to have so much snow in Seattle, but the girls really enjoyed it. Because of the snow, our winter break started 3 days early, due to school closures. Unfortunately, we will have to make up those days at the end of the school year. On Christmas Eve, we decided to make the most of the snow and we made a snowman. The girls had such a great time with Trevor. Boston and I watched them and took lots of pictures. Trevor saved the day by stopping at the good will earlier that day to buy each of the girls a pair of snow pants. It was the best $4 we've spent in a long time. Here are some pictures of our first ever Seattle snowman, and Taigan's first ever snowman.

Two Months Old!

I realize I'm a little bit behind, but I wanted to post about Boston's two month old check-up. He weighed in officially at 13 lbs. 3.5 ounces and measured 24 inches long. These measurements put him in the 80% for weight and the 90% for height. He sure is growing and we just love all of his fun rolls on his legs. Boston continues to steal all of our hearts and we are so happy to have him in our family. Here is a cute picture of all of the kids.
