And speaking of being annoyed. . . Leo has lost his little mind. I guess the combination of moving and cutting back teeth was just more than he could handle. He has been an absolute basket case for the past two days. It's getting a little old.

Observation/Complaint
A few days ago my belly popped out. (I'm not kidding, it was over night.) Can I just tell you how weird it is to be losing weight and getting bigger? I don't like it at all. (I mean, I guess it's better than gaining weight and getting bigger, but I still don't like it.) This morning I went to get dressed and could barely get my pants buttoned. Then I put on my shirt and noticed that, unlike last time, it will not be lasting my entire pregnancy. I just keep thinking, "But I've lost weight. I should have more room in my clothes." I'm annoyed.

Phone Pics
So, I've had these pictures on my phone for forever. (I don't know how to get them from the phone to the computer so I have to wait until I run out of camera space, then I have to remember to tell Ty and bug him until he does it.) Any how, these are old but pretty cute.
Our sprinklers come on automatically twice a day. We were out front and they came on when Leo was on the grass. He didn't know what to do at first, but then he took off running. Of course, he headed across the lawn towards me instead of getting out of the water.
He was pretty wet by the time he got to me.
This one was taken several months earlier. Leo is sitting in a planter in the backyard that has a bird feeder in it.

State Fair
First off, a comparison:
Leo at the state fair last year (Isn't he just so cute and tiny?)
vs.
Leo at the state fair this year.
(Not so tiny, still pretty cute. Even though he's wearing his
"I'm so bored and annoyed with you" face.)
As you can probably tell, we went to the Utah State Fair on Saturday. We had so much fun. Leo was definitely more interested in the animals than he was last year. (Considering that he was 2 months old last time we went, that's not all that surprising.) What was surprising, to me at least, was the size of some of the animals we saw there. I mean, holy cow, I didn't even know pigs could be this big. (Look at the legs in the background for a size reference.) Most of the pigs were so fat they couldn't even keep their legs together when they were laying on their sides. It was kind of funny to see their top legs sticking up in the air, but also kind of disgusting. I felt like they should be put out of their piggish misery and turned into something yummy instead. (Sausage anyone?)
Speaking of large animals, look at that cow. It's belly almost touches the ground. Isn't that amazing? (It's actually two cows. The one in the background is laying down and just happens to be the same color as the one that's standing. It really does look like one cow though, huh?)
This actually is one cow and it was HUGE! It weighed over 3,ooo pounds and didn't really do much other than lay there. I was surprised that Leo was willing to go up next to it considering that it was so much bigger than he is. He didn't seem to have any problem with it though. (With this picture we were trying to see who has a bigger bum, me or the 3,000 pound cow. It was a close call, but I think I've got him beat.)
Here's a view from the front so you can see the giant horns.
Next we went to the goats and Leo absolutely loved them! He kept reaching into their stalls to try and pet them.
Every once in a while he would actually touch one. He was in heaven.
We finished off the day with the crocodile show. The man in the picture is holding the crocodile's mouth shut with just his chin. I guess back in the day the Seminole Indians used to hunt crocodiles down in Florida. (Where these guys are from.) They (the Seminoles) were often hunting alone and didn't have anyone to help them tie the crocodile's mouth shut, so they developed this method of keeping the jaws closed while freeing up their hands to tie the rope. It was pretty impressive, except to Leo. He was hot and tired and ready to go home. Since we were totally stuck in our seats until the show was over I had to convince him that all of the applause was for him. Fortunately he's still vain enough that it worked. :)
And, of course, he conked out on the way home. Hooray for fun at the fair!

Visiting the Doctor
I went to an OB appointment yesterday. It took an unusually long amount of time to locate the baby's heart beat. Right about the time I was really starting to worry I heard the little whoosh, whoosh, whoosh that means everything is okay. I love that sound!
Shortly after that I talked to the doctor about a VBAC. (I'm planning on trying it this time around.) He said, "Great! I think that will be such a good thing. Just so you know there is some risk. There's always the possibility that the incision on your uterus will rupture. It doesn't happen very often, but when it does it's a disaster! I mean, a real disaster."
So that freaked me out a little. Anyone who has had a VBAC where their uterus didn't rupture should tell me about it in the comments.
Thanks!

Good Cookies & Bad Mothering
I have good news. Last night I discovered the best cookies ever. I'm not kidding, these cookies are to die for. They're a combination of every cookie that I love: Oatmeal Raisin, Oatmeal Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, and they have coconut. I'm drooling just thinking about them. They're soft and chewy and everything a cookie should be. Here's the recipe. . .
Beat until creamy:
1 cup Brown Sugar
1 cup White Sugar
1 cup Butter (softened)
Beat in:
2 eggs
Add:
3/4 cup Peanut Butter
Then mix in:
1 cup Rolled Oats
1 cup Coconut
1 cup Raisins*
1 cup Chocolate Chips
1 1/2 cups Flour
1 tsp baking Soda
1 tsp Baking Powder
*The original recipe calls for Craisins. I don't ever keep these around the house and I think raisins taste better. Hence the substitution.
On a more negative note. . . I know that I'm not really supposed to be letting my 14 month old watch television. However, I also know that being pregnant, packing/moving everything in my house and watching said 14 month old makes me way too tired for my own good. So I might have been turning on the t.v. a little more often than I should. Like, Leo now knows the theme song to Sponge Bob Square Pants (he gets all excited as soon as the pirate comes on and then dances through the entire song. It's pretty cute.) and I may be getting slightly excited to watch the new episode of iCarly (Sam and Freddy kissed!) I have nothing to say for myself.

Moving Etc.
We've been doing a lot of moving stuff this past week. Yay! (Don't get too excited though. There's still a ton left to do.) This is how Leo's been helping me.
He thinks he should climb into every box he sees, even if it's already full of stuff. And he gets mad when you take him out.
Except for this time. He got stuck in this one and was pretty miffed that I took a picture before I rescued him.
This week we also got glasses for Ty (you can kind of see them) and taught Leo about pony rides. He thinks they're so much fun but he hasn't yet grasped the concept of holding on and he gets pretty angry when he falls on his head. (We're working on it, we're working on it.)

I also buzzed Leo's head yesterday. His hair was getting out of control and I didn't have time to take him somewhere to get it cut. (Also, I'm cheap and since he doesn't care what he looks like I figured it wouldn't matter if I butchered it.) It was an interesting endeavor. Leo screamed and wiggled the entire time. It's a good thing his hair is so light and doesn't really show all the mistakes.

Last Wednesday or Why I Have the Best Husband Ever
Last Wednesday went something like this:
Kristen is very tired/burned out/in need of a date.
K- Ty, I really, really, really need to go on a date.
T- What do you want me to do? Call Krystal and see if she can watch Leo?
K- Yes, please.
T- Okay.
"Krystal? Hey, Kristen has some clothes she thought you might want. Do you want to come over tonight and look through them? Okay, how about 6:30? And when you get here we're going to leave Leo with you for a couple of hours. K? Bye?"
K- YAY!
On the way out the door to the movie our insane land lady makes a retard comment that is basically the very last straw for Kristen.
K- I hate her! I hate her! I hate her!
T- It's okay.
K- No, I really mean it. I can't stand it any more! She's making me insane.
T- Okay. We'll move
K- YAY! (P.S. We're moving.) (P.P.S. The movie was amazing/relaxing/exactly what I needed.)
By the time we get home and get Leo in bed Kristen has a pretty horrible headache (which she can do nothing about because of the small human currently growing inside of her belly.)
K- (whining) Babe, I can't even sleep because laying down hurts too much. (It's about 3 a.m.)
T- Come here. I'll give you a massage. Is it working?
K- A little.
T- Do you want me to go and get you a diet Coke?
K- Yeah.
T- Okay, I'll be right back.
30 minutes later
T- Sorry it took so long. I went to the gas station but they didn't have the ice you like so I went to Sonic instead.
Leo starts crying
T- Do you think that's an "I need comfort cry?"
K- Yeah
T- Okay, I'll do it.
*And that's the end of my story. At least as far as last Wednesday is concerned.

This boy knows exactly what he wants and if he doesn't get it he lets me know. The other day I made some bread. Leo had some with his lunch and then after he got out of his high chair he was acting like he wanted more. I tried to give him some of mine, but he wouldn't have anything to do with it. I assumed he didn't want any more but he just kept whining and pointing at my bread. Finally I cut him another piece of his own. He carried that bread around for about half an hour, but he did eventually eat it all.
P.S. I love his little belly in this last picture. So cute!
