I gets a reward from The Crews' Views
Our friend George over at the Crews' Views gives us our first ever reward, a few weeks ago.
These rules is very hard for us cause so many of our new friends in the blogsphere has brought us happinesses and a lots of kittehs already gets this reward. We not choose for other stuff cause we really love all our bloggy kitteh friends and we not can really choose anyone particular. So we chose by "bloggin aboves and beyond the meows of duty". We knows that many many of the bloggers have gone out of their way to helps the community, cyber and real-life, its just the way kittehs are. We also knows that we only been here a short while, and we not sees everything.
But we wants to give a reward to these kittehs that we thinks has done extraordinary works so that kittehs can find furrever homes, (since we been blogging.)
1) Brian We all know he is the king of the kitteh adopshun advocates. And has a heart the size of the ocean! I knows a kitteh name Grayson that will never forgets him.
2) Old Kitty who after losing her dear kitty of 17 years and 8 months, still finds room in her grieving heart for a little kitty who really needs her.
3) Caroline's Cat who is getting ready to open her heart and her home to a kitteh for the first time. And for giving an older kitteh a chance to find the love she deserves.
4) Jan's Funny Farm whose heart is so ready to helps that she's pratically running a zoo over there. (Even with a broken toe.)
We wants to give a reward to these kittehs fur doing sweet things fur bloggers that we notices since we been blogging.
5) Zippy, Sadie and Speedy for being the firsts to notice us, then to go out of their way to welcome us to the blogsphere AND tell the other kittehs about us. They has done this fur other kittehs too.
6) Skeeter, King, Pandora and Cricket for spotlighting us when we first gets started. They does this fur kittehs all the time.
7) Fin for the fantastic Cat-O-lympics, which was our first big blog game
8) Jacqueline for writting loving, thoughtful comments on everykittehs' blogs.
9) Sammy and Andy for being sweets and making every kitteh in the bloggersphere feels loved. And taking them on vacations, and to the beach and flying around on there afgans when kittehs needs them.
10) Daisy for being a celbartee with a hugemongous fanbase, and still finds time to visit and comments on everykittehs' site. (I knows she gets this reward already, so she not need to post about it; I just wants her to know that we notices.)
11) George, Tipper, Max and Misty who goes out of their way to includes the new kittehs in rewards and games. (I know I not suppose to gives it back to them, but they fits the category.)
EDIT
Someone was sweet enough to points out that we weren't suppose to tell why the kittehs was speshul to us here but to tell in a comment on their site. I hopes no kitteh gets hurted feelings that I does it like this for this time. I know I seem to gets the games wrong all the time. (Likes I never tells the story about the hummingbird in my first meme either.) I promise to trys to follow directions better.
We is very honored that George do this fur us, and we is very sorry that mommy not helps us blog about it til now. (She has been working very hard on the computer doing boring stuff that she calls code-in.)
Here are the rules:
To accept this award you must pass it on to 12 other recipients and post their blog links along with the award and of course send a comment to them telling them how they have brought SUNSHINE to you. These rules is very hard for us cause so many of our new friends in the blogsphere has brought us happinesses and a lots of kittehs already gets this reward. Official nap day
Hi blogs, Squashies here.
This is us having morning coffee with mommy and Daisy. Daisy's cartoons always make mommy laff and laff!
I just want to admit that 2 years ago, when we came to live with mommy, this whole desk was where mommy did her work. As you can see, she only gets half of the desk now, so we can has a place to nap while she's working. We sleeps here all day long.
Sometimes there are 2 beds on the desk, when mommy needs to work really hard and I can't use her arm as a pillow.
So I just wanted to share our best nap place. Has a great week!
EDIT
So a few sweet blogger kitties had a worry-worry that I don't get a bed on the desk. This is a picture of the two-bed desk. If I stay on the desk, mommy puts my little bed on the desk too. But sometimes I get to sleep in the big bed. Then TK sleeps in the little bed.
It's first come, first serve around here. TK has never pushed me out of his bed. Even thought we both know its his bed.
He's such a good big brother.

Go-Bags and Kitteh mergency evac
Hi Blog Friends, TK here.
My mommy is a little crazy bout preparedness. (Now I loves my mommy more than anything but when I say she's "crazy" about this one topic- I really mean it.. she's nuts.) She sais she likes to have tools/supplies fur every situation. She spends quite a bit of time thinking about it. So one thing she thinks about is what would happen if we has to leave the house ‘cause of mergency. What would we needs to survive for 3 and 7 days without any help from outside.
So everyone in the house has a go-bag… Including us kitties. I thought I shares how us kitties are prepared for mergencies! Mommy sais I should say that this list is just for us kitties, that we has more stuff then she and daddy do cause we are speshul, but they has their stuff too. Also the linkies are just so you can see what I'm talking about if you wants to make a go-bag too, you can get the stuff other places... Cept Darling Millie’s Mommy’s bag- they are really awesome and they are the purrfect shape for this purrpose, they are also very well made and stylish, you should totally buy those!
EDIT
Mommy forget to adds one thing you would need in your kitteh-go-bag, she not has this in our bag because she carries a roll with her all the time. Doggie-Poop bags are the purrfect way to dispose of litter and sets up a camp recycle sack for empty food cans.
She sais they is so handy she always has them in her bag. She sais you should get the kind with handles so you can tie them off or use them as extra carriers like when you are at the airport and your hands is all full and you buys a sam-itch that comes in a paper sack and you has to carry your drinkie. Then you can put your sack in a poop-bag, put the handles over your wrist, and carries your drink! They comes in bio-degradeable too so you not hurts the environment.

The V.E.Ts
Hi Blog Friends, TK here.
This is me sitting in MY seat, going to the V.E.T.s. As you can see I'm busy looking around because we were at a light, and there is lots to see!
Mostly when we are driving I get down like this so I don't fall over or anything. Sometimes I get in the back seat and lounge about.
So the bad news is that I didn't lose ANY weight. Can you believe that? It just makes me want to cry. I've been on this 2 can Fancy Feast diet for a long time. And I was losing, but now I seem to have got stuck.
Mommy sais I just has to stay strong through the plateO. She sais she gets stuck sometimes when she's on a diet too. Oh well.

So tomorrow I have to go to the V.E.Ts. Wish me luck!

Flashback Friday: The Journey- A story about our life to Furrever
Hi Blog friends, TK here.
So I writes a story about our journey to our mommy. Is mostly about how scary it is to be an old kitty in a rescue shelter.
You can reads the story by clicking "The Journey" clicky page belows the banner.
Mommy says I should say that we don't really knows too much about before we gets to the rescue-lady. So the parts about the kitty that was sick is just conjecture. Everything else happens like we says.
I hopes you likes our story.

Midnight's Gotcha day
Hi blog friends, TK's mom here. I had promised that I would tell you about Midnight, and given that today is the 3rd anniversary of his "Gotcha Day" I thought I would fulfill that obligation. It seems like a long post, so if you chose to skip-it, I completely understand. For me the writing and remembering was cathartic and I am grateful to have this forum to present it.
Getting Midnight
The weather in the month of February 2007 consisted mostly of sub-freezing temperatures with sustained high winds, and where the snow wasn’t frequent, it stayed on the ground for almost the whole month. As such I had relocated from the third story, west facing office, to the second floor, east facing living room to work.
I was sitting on the comfy couch, laptop in my lap when I heard this mewing sound outside. I quickly went to the door to find a little black kitten sitting on the steps looking up at me through the screen door window, meowing at the top of his lungs. He was very thin and was sitting with his tail tucked around his little feet. (I use the masculine pronoun thanks to hind-sight; in fact we thought he was a girl until several weeks later.)
I knew nothing about cats, but I could tell this one was in trouble, so I opened the door to let him in the house, at which he promptly ran away and hid in the bushes. So I went to the fridge and got him some left-over ground beef, heated it on a little plate and set it and a bowl of water on the steps for him. Once I closed the door he peeked out from his hidy-hole and cautiously came to the plate and ate.
We continued to feed him like this three times a day for several days. Every day I stayed out with the plate a little longer and every day he would get a little closer before sitting down to wait for me to leave.
Assuming that we were going to have to take care of this kitty through the winter, my husband went to the grocery and bought kitten food. Three times a day the kitten would show up to get a warm meal and some water. And as you might guess, I got emotionally involved. When he was late I would start pacing the living room, thinking of all the things that could have happened to him in the big-bad woods.
During the second week two bigger cats, who must have figured out the cute-kitty scam, started following him and would push him away from his plate once I closed the door. I didn’t blame them, in fact I marveled at their ingenuity, BUT- they were not going to push MY kitten away. So I opened the door and they all ran away as ferals are apt to do. Then I sat on the far end of the stoop and waited for the kitten, who we were now calling Midnight, to come eat his food. He must have figured out that I was the lesser of the two evils in the scenerio, because after a few minutes of contemplation, he cautiously came up the steps and ate his food.
Once again hubby went to the grocery to buy outdoor calorie kibbles, which we, to this day, feed to the adult ferals on the other side of the house.
Every feeding time I would wrap myself in my big coat and sit with Midnight on the stoop while he finished his meal. Every day I got a little closer, and every time he would consider the distance between us before settling down to eat, while I sang silly little songs to him.
By week three he was eating right next to me, and on occasion would rub up against me on his way out, as if in thanks.
Then one night, I made a mistake, I stroked his head as he rubbed me and he ran away. I worried all night that he would be too afraid to come back. But I guess the stomach is mightier than a cat social foo-pah because he was back at 7am for his breakfast, and when he was done he stood next to me looking expectantly. So I hesitantly rubbed his head again. This time instead of running, he purred.
Over time I gradually added brushing to our time together, and by the end of week 4 he would sit in my lap for an hour or so before he went back out to wherever he slept at night and I would go to bed and worry about him.
Once we had gotten it into our heads that we were going to be a cat family, we went on the internet and read up on what we needed. We bought toys and beds and a litter box. And throughout the month we tried in vain to get the little guy to come in the house. We tried coaxing him in with food and toys. He would get right up to the door, sometimes even sticking his head in, but it was obvious he had been trained to be afraid of the “inside”.
Then on March 2, 2007, while I was brushing him on the stoop after yet another sleepless night worrying about him, I violated his tiny-trust one last time. I picked him up and while my husband held the door, I walked with him into the house.
After a few hours of hiding behind the couch, he came out and used the litter box we had gotten him and started exploring the warm inside.
He and I became fast friends. Our relationship was always on his terms, and he remained cautious of other people, but he was my constant companion. For all too short a period, we were a happy family.

The closest we ever got to getting Midnight to walk into the house.

Midnight on his second day in the house.
We never broke him of wanting be outside. We tried, (oh how we tried,) but he was the wild kitty that came to stay with us sometimes. He even made his own cat door in the screen on the second floor deck. He had no issue getting to the ground from there.
He and I became fast friends. Our relationship was always on his terms, and he remained cautious of other people, but he was my constant companion. For all too short a period, we were a happy family.
