Every year before the Kentucky Derby they put on a HUGE fireworks show. And every year they release just one more firework so that they can say that they have the largest show in the country. It is all done to music and they shoot them off over the Ohio River on a couple of barges and the bridge. It is truly amazing!! The air show starts 61/2 hours before the fireworks and goes the whole time. Really, it isn't that awesome. It isn't like there are planes constantly flying overhead, there is usually a few minutes between each plane or groups of planes. The boys loved it none the less. Jacob was so good, he didn't make his nap time because that is when we started our trek down town. Travis was already at the waterfront park holding space, so the boys and I parked where it would be a fast getaway to the freeway, but that makes it a 30-40 minute walk to the park. We did it though. Jacob stayed awake, and was good the whole time, well that is until the 2 minutes before the firework show, then he fell asleep, and slept the entire time!! We are talking fireworks so intense that you can feel the rattle in your chest! Here are a few pictures!

A much needed vacation!!
Grammy was kind enough to allow for us and some friends to fly her out for a couple of weeks to watch our kids so that we could get away for a few days. We got a great deal on a cabin in the mountains outside of Gatlinburg, TN. It is a lot like Branson, MS. Lots of dinner shows and little random shops. It was off season for the town so it wasn't too busy, and unfortunately not much was in bloom, so the mountains were still bare. None the less it was so fun and we are so glad for the opportunity to spend some time with just the two of us. We saw a great family show, and played a little "Hill Billy Golf". The miniature course was actually up the mountain and they took you up to the top on a cart and you golf your way down. So fun! Travis had to see Cooters, that would be Cooter from the Dukes of Hazard show, it was nothing more than an over priced gift shop. We saw a special on CMT about Cooters in Nashville, TN it's supposed to be a memorabilia/restaurant place, but this one did have a General Lee so that made it all worth the trip! Other than that we hung out in the cabin, Jamie couldn't enjoy the hot tub with everyone else, but we did try to work the heart shaped jacuzzi tub in our room. It wasn't as great as we hoped, but we didn't figure out until we were getting out that the cold water was on instead of off. That explained why the jets were so cold. OOPS!!
