It's fun to be FANCY!!!!

Georgi turned five and we decided to live it up!   She had all of her good friends come over dressed in their fanciest attire for a FANCY NANCY PARTY!    It was a great time had by all.   But by the time it was over we were all tired out.   We read Fancy Nancy books of course, played a fancy matching game, accessorized, practiced walking with good posture, and ate cake pops and parfaits (that is a fancy word for ice cream sundaes).    Here is some pics of our fun afternoon!

Georgi also got her ears pierced....I was really worried she would throw a fit....she is talented at that....when she got pierced but she was brave and made it through without too much wincing!  Way to go brave girl.

Georgi I am so lucky to be your mom!   You make me happy every single day.   I hope you always stay as witty and fun loving as you are at five.   I am sooooo glad I had you :)

Mother's Day Present

Here is a short video that my hubby and kids surprised me with for Mother's Day.   Nothin' quite like those hospital pictures just minutes after delivery to make you feel so pretty :)  No but seriously, so thoughtful of them!  I am so glad I am a mom.

Out of the mouth of babes!

So a few Sundays ago the primary presidency gave every family a CD with the primary songs for 2012 on it. My kids love to listen to this CD and we inevitably wear it out ever year. So we were listening to it in the car on the way home from our soccer games this Saturday and Georgi said "Roll down the windows Mom!" I questioned her as to why and she said "We are listening to Choose the Right and that man in the car next to us is smoking and he needs to hear our song." Of Course that gentleman's window was down, so he could hear the inspirational lyrics. I am not sure he heard the song, but he did wave back to my sweet friendly daughter who wanted to share a great tune with him.

Grandma G.G.

Travis' maternal grandma passed away last month on March 9. She is such a fun spunky lady and will truly be missed by her family. One of my kids last memories of her was when we went to her house over Christmas break and spent the day visiting with her. She had one of those big Costco-sized Jelly Belly containers and we sat and tried out every flavor and decided which one was our favorite. It was such a good day. When she was sick and in the hospital it was Cannon's 3rd birthday and somehow we still received a birthday card in the mail with 3 dollars in it...what a sweetie. She is a treasure to our family and we will miss her everyday. We love you Grandma G.G. (Wilma Reaser)

Cannon is 3!

Seriously...What is going on here? How did my little man get to be three years old? I love this little guy so much I just can't stand it. I decided to just have it be a day all about him. For breakfast I made him a cake of doughnuts. Then while Georgi was off to preschool he and I took a trip to the Disney Store at the Mall and I let him pick out anything he wanted. He chose a Mickey Mouse flight up helicopter fan and a Buzz Light Year phone. We had frozen yogurt and french fries at the food court for lunch and then went to the Dollar Tree to pick out some birthday balloons. We came home, and decorated a Mario Bros. Mushroom Gorge cake....so much fun. For dinner we had his favorite, Macaroni and Cheese with orange, apple, and cucumber slices on the side (Travis was beside himself with joy over this meal). You would have thought we had given him the moon he was so happy. Isn't it great how all little kids need is just some attention to feel good about themselves? I love it!

Even Georgi showed Cannon some love for his special day!

Cake decorating is definitely not one of my talents but you would have thought it was with how excited Cannon was with this beauty.

Making a wish!

I love that you still like to snuggle with me when you are tired and that Oliver is your best friend. Our family is soooooo lucky that you are in it. Happy Birthday Cannon Bomb!

DERBY TIME

Oliver had his first pinewood derby for cub scouts this year! He and Travis had a lot of fun working on the car (truck actually) together. Poor Travis, after the hours of hard work he put into this project he was away for business and was not able to attend. There were a few really stressful things for me that night, but Oliver sure had a great time! He is such a good sport. He came in 15th out of about 30 but you would have thought he finished first. I love him so much and think he is about the cutest little cubbie I have ever seen!

Chinese New Year

On the first day of Chinese New Year we headed down to Pei Wei to celebrate and practice using some chopsticks.

I ddn't realize until looking at these pics how my girls' hair was so unruly!

20 min. shy of PERFECTION

Whoever has said they strive for perfection has more than likely not attempted to reach that state of being. I am on the VERGE lately of LOSING my MIND! I feel like I can never get too far away from perfection....20 minutes at best. I am referring to keeping a tidy house. I feel so blessed that we are able to move back to Utah and be closer to family. It is such an answer to prayers. But at the same time, this selling a house business is really for the birds. I am always completely consumed with the state of my home, dishes, laundry and to be honest it is really getting on my nerves. I always have to be only 20 or 30 minutes away from having my house in spit spot shape only to let some TOTAL STRANGERS into my house along with their realtor....just to find out that we are either 2nd on their list of houses to buy or they just thought it might be fun to look at homes....ARGHHHHH. Yeah so in the meantime, I still have to be a FULL TIME mom to all 4 of my kids, and fill in for their dad who is not living with us because he has started his new job in another state. I volunteer at the elementary school weekly and teach nursery, am on the RS enrichment board, and get my visiting teaching done. Something has gotta give, so in those FABULOUS 20 minutes when I am rushing like a mad woman with a laundry basket in hand picking up anything and everything on the floor.....just to shove it all in Travis' car in the garage (my dirty little secret!). I find that somehow I morph from June Cleaver into Old Yeller. I hate that this happens to me, I want to be nicer and more gentle. But in that moment I find that I am stomping my feet and yelling at my children to hustle and help me clean up. Hopefully this does not carry on much longer. We have got to sell our home because this perfection is really not becoming for me!
