the long silence....

i know the blog has not been making a lot of progress but the tinytyrant is...she has grown from a loud, demanding baby to a tall, talkative (still loud sometimes) toddler...time flies...

it has been 3 years.. there has been lots of changes..mummy & daddy has their fair share of things to learn over the years from nappy change, tucking her to sleep, placating her when she's demanding for things, attending to her appetite (she feeds like a barracuda :p) to handling her first runny nose, her first fall, her first tooth, her first independant steps etc etc i can go on & on. But yes..it has been 3 challenging but definitely rewarding years for daddy & mummy.

We loved every moment of watching her grow. A lot has been happening at work and at home for mummy too so mummy have conveniently forgotten to 'record' the moments down here...yeah i know it's no excuses...shame on mummy for failing to update :p ...i promise i'll try to improve and put more stories for you to read ok?
DADDY MUMMY LOVES YOU TO BITS!!!

talking abt slow progress... :p

And her name is...

Natalie Gan Yi Qien
The moment I saw her, I said to myself.."she's probably one of the most beautiful thing I've ever seen!"
Born on the 5th March@12.21am, she weighs a good 3.35kg & is 50cm ermm..long? since she can't stand yet, not sure if 'tall' is the right word to use. She was pretty alert for a new born...had her eyes wide opened and was screaming loudly.

I only managed to cuddle her for a little while before they send her off to the nursery while I was wheeled back to my ward to sleep. The next morning, I was pleasantly surprised to see her in my room, all bundled up in pink...sleeping soundly in her special transparent cot.

At noon, a large group of friends came by to visit us. The room was full and everyone is busy congratulating, asking questions & sharing their fair bit of experience, laughing...it was quite a din...BUT...Natalie...the girl doesn't seem bothered by all the noise. She just went on sleeping..zzzzzzz

Stucked - hey..it's not funny!

4th of March 2006, 14:00 @ home
It was just another balmy, lazy Saturday afternoon, or so I thought...until the 'tummy cramps' came back..one after another, getting more frequent and intense each time. I took a deep breath, 'I think she's coming out today. Every 10 minutes now...let's get going!'

14:30 @ the hospital
I was all anxious but none the less still enjoyed being wheeled around the hospital...wheee...hahaha..silly me
Finally they showed me to a 'Labour Suite 6'. I was so thankful hubby was with me. The nurses come in once in a while to monitor baby's heartbeat & the contraction reading. A few hours passed. Football was on TV & I was getting tired.

17:30 @ still at the hospital
Still waiting. I hope I'll remember how to push..

23:something...darn..must be the laughing gas...i can't even tell the time
Doc told me baby's head is facing upwards and is somewhat 'stucked'!. He said he will have to assist with a vacuum pump but I will have to do my part by pushing hard..otherwise we'll have to do a C-sect.
WHAT???!!??? He can't be serious right? After 9 friggin' hours?? ok...time to get down to business. I threw away the laughing gas mask and all of a sudden got the 'motivation' to push hard.

Within a few pushes...baby came out at 00:21am, 5th March...PHEW....
