The Burgundy & Browns!

Fall means fall colors found in fashion and frankly I love it.
I love the deeper, darker colors that fall brings...hey they look good on everyone and make you look slimmer...bonus & bonus ;)

Oxblood, grays, dark browns and deep navy seem to be the trend this Fall and I love them all.  So I thought I'd share a few of my favorite finds in oxblood burgundy, browns & grays (and a few I've ordered too).

This bag combines both oxblood and chocolate brown colors.  I love the flared out sides and its not too big...if you go to the site you can see it on the model for sizing. And at under $50 its a pretty sweet deal too. (yes it is coming home to mama here in VA hahaha)

GET 20% off at Sole Society using this link:  http://www.solesociety.com/invite/link/index/id/11722388/type/2/

Lush Roll Tab Shirt
I have a few of these shirts...shhh....Alexa calls them my signature shirts hahaha. But they are so comfy and light and can be dressed down or up depending on what you want.  I just got this floral version and I adore it.  It has some burgundy in it so I'm going to pair it with a dark burgundy tank underneath, jeans and my riding boots.

Love the deep color of these flats and they are by Clarks so they are sure to super-comfy too.
And the bow and trim make a nice touch too.

Chocolate Brown Sweater
I have a few of these blousey cardigans and I love them...great material and easy to layer.
At $42 each they are a good buy and quality made...I'm adding this chocolate brown one to my collection.

Burgundy Pearl Earrings
These lovely freshwater pearl earrings would be GORGEOUS with any of the fall color clothes.
Elegant and stylish and a bargain at only $12 on Etsy!

I am a boot girl...my fave part of the cooler weather months is wearing my boots.  I have quite a collection but I wear them all the time and just love them.  I've been looking for some gray boots since last year and found these by Clarks and loved the style...I got them from Amazon and they fit perfectly and were a great price too at $58.
These boots at Sole Society in navy are sweet too!

Clarks Burgundy Boots
These boots are on my Christmas wish list for the hubs...I love the style and mix of leather and suede..and the gorgeous color too.  But at $150 they are pricey, but so purty ;)

I like any kind of pant that starts with "PONTE"..its super soft and stretchy..how can you not love that right?  I have a black and gray pair that I love to death..I mean I LURVE them ;)
These are from Hollister and are in that oxblood/burgundy color (they come in navy too)...they will be cute paired with a gray tunic sweater I have and those gray boots.  Or dressed up with heels and a silky black top. Lots of options with these and only $25 online. (and they sit at your normal waist so no bum-crack allowed)

Essie "Skirting The Issue" and "Partners In Crime"
Of course you have to polish your nails and toes for fall too right?  I'm going with my fave Essie polishes and these two are perfect to match up with the fall colors.  The pics above look a little lighter than they actually are..they are much deeper when you actually see them in person.
Skirting the Issue is a deep burgundy...Partners in Crime is a chocolatey brown.
**remember check Amazon for Essie products..usually $3-4 cheaper*

Beautiful burgundy blouse from Nordstroms that would be great to pair with jeans or dress up with heels and a skirt.  And best part is...its only $38!

This scarf would look great for this fall with the browns and burgundys...love the pretty floral pattern on this.

I have this jacket in the army green color and yup...I love it.  Its not too heavy so its perfect for for fall and those in-between weather days.  It also cinches a bit in the middle so you can make a nice silhouette.  And hey cargo jackets are really in style now...but this one is classically styled so it will be able to be worn for years.

Riding boots are always in style no matter what year it is.  I have a pair of boots very similar to these above...had them for over 5 years and they are still beautiful and so comfy. The dark brown color is both flattering and works with everything.  I bought these this year Sam Edelman Penny HERE for my new boot of the season...I wanted a lighter camel color to change things up now and again.  They are an investment but the quality is great as long as you take care of them...brush the suede, use a water-resistant spray on them and clean them off well before putting in closet.  I have 2 pairs of Frye boots that are some of my most fave boots ever...they are very expensive but they will resole them for you and they wear fabulously too.  If you want a boot that will last for many years you have to invest a bit more money for them.  I buy my boots to last and wear the heck out of them during the cold months.

What's on your MUST-HAVE FALL fashion list??

Weekend Plans!

WEEKEND LINKS!

We have a busy four days for the Memorial Day weekend!  Hubs has off today thru Monday so we are going to try to knock a lot of our house/yard to-dos off the list.  Monday we have a Nats baseball game so we will be in DC for the day.  But they are calling for sunny skies and 80 degs all weekend so it will be BEAUTIFUL weather wise...gotta love that!

All my flowers are starting to bloom and I just love this time of year!
My sinuses disagree but we are willing to feel miserable a bit for the outdoor beauty ;)
These are Knockout Roses and I have 7 of them around my house....they bloom profusely over the summer and are perfect for cutting and having in the house.  I clip mine back everytime the blooms die and they continue to bloom thru late October most years.

Nordstroms is having their HUGE 40% off sale...so in case you need things or need to stock up...ummm or just WANT things...now's a good time.  I ordered these maxi dresses by Lush for both Alexa and I...we got coral and black and will trade off for different looks (on sale for $38 each).
Maxi dresses are so easy to wear and cool for the summer...I love them.

And I got these cute gladiator wedges from DSW to wear with my maxi dresses, shorts and pants this summer.  I had accumulated a lot of points so I got $25 off...whooohooo! Gotta love that!

I will be making some of these yummy Strawberry Cheesecake Pudding Cookies (lemon recipe avail. too) for our weekend dessert.  Look super easy to make and very yummy!

And I will be listening to some great new country music while I work too.  I have my friend Trent Tomlinson's new song on replay lately "Come Back To Bed"....he's an amazing songwriter and singer.  Check him out if you get a minute!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend no matter what your plans are!
See ya back here on Monday!!

Coral Started It!

One Pair of Pants = 7 Outfits!

It all started with these coral jeans I got from White House Black Market.  I wanted a pair of coral pants that I could wear throughout the year, not just this Spring. So like I usually do I went to all my fave online stores till I found a pair.  These are $78 and have some stretch in them (they come in a curvy style too)...I used an online coupon and got them for $66...not bad!  And they are good quality clothes from White House Black Market so I know they will last.

I wanted to create a few different outfits that are easy to put together for a multitude of occasions.  When you can wear something many times it makes the $ investment worth more to your fashion closest right?  And you can take a bright color like this coral and MAKE it a neutral.

So I created 7 different looks with this one pair of pants (that I LOVE)!

OUTFIT #1

First outfit I paired them with this Old Navy top that I love...its lightweight, have ruching at the top and is long enough to wear as a coverup over your swimsuit or with leggings. This top here would be cute with these pants too. I love blues paired with coral...so pretty and definitely perfect for Spring.  Belt is by Tarnish and is from Nordstrom and I have it in cream as well...love it.  Pearl bracelets are from Silpada.  I wore this outfit on Saturday to run errands with the hubs.
Shoes are by Steve Madden (in bone color) from Nordstrom as well, I love a comfy & cute nude wedge because you can wear them with a ton of things (skirts, jeans, pants, shorts, dresses).  Not too high of a heel so perfect for running errands in or going out to lunch with friends too.
*****

OUTFIT #2

And of course they look cute paired with anything white!  I love white t-shirts in all styles but the ones that have the ruching on the sides are my fave right now.  Mine is from Loft last year but they have some out this year too by many different brands/stores...Target had some too.  The belt is from Levis that I got in NYC many years ago and it is hands down still my favorite belt.

The floral scarf I picked up at Nordstrom...its an infinity scarf ($18) and I love the floral pattern that will look good with cream, white, coral, pink, yellow and more! Bracelets and ring are all from Charming Charlie...I love a good bargain and I pick up lots of jewelry from there to wear that I can pair up with other things I have in my jewelry box.

The shoes are by Calvin Klein and yep they look high but they are super cushy and comfy...love them!  I had some coupons adding up to $30 off at DSW so I got these for a steal...worth every penny.  I will be wearing them with EVERYTHING this summer...just watch!

OUTFIT #3

And of course I had to pair the pants with black...I love black and I love making these sweet coral pants a bit more edgy too!  The Michael Kors blazer is from Nordstroms that I've had for a couple of years...but it must do well because they still have it HERE for sale. I have worn it probably 200+ times and it holds its shape well, packs easily and is a nice weight.  The t-shirt is a slouchy shirt with a leather pocket that I got at Charming Charlie.  I just ordered this long, double pendant here that I will totally pair with this outfit.

The owl bracelet is one of my faves and I picked up when I was in Charleston,SC last year....if you google owl cuffs quite a few variations come up.  I believe I paid about $25 for mine and I wear it ALL the time.

Shoes are Franco Sarto (one of my fave brands) and look great paired with anything all year long.
***
OUTFIT #4

And why not go monochromatic and all out pink right?  This pale pink looks nice with the darker coral and a different pair of tan wedges.  The shirt is from ages ago (Loft)..I hold onto clothes for a long time  if I love them, they are good quality and they are classic.  Can't go wrong with a wrap top for summer in a pretty pink.  Shoes are by Clarks & are from a few years ago too, but these here would be a cute alternative.

OUTFIT #5

And you can dress them up for date night as well!  They look great paired with a pretty top and dressing accessories right?  The top I bought with birthday money from White House Black Market...its silky and I adore the fluttery sleeves and waistband.  I coudn't find it online so I'm not sure if its out of stock because it was a newer item.  Shoes are by Guess that I got to wear with a Christmas dress and I love the shiny patent leather...they are on sale at Zappos right now ;)

OUTFIT #6

Navy also looks great paired with coral...think outside the box when pairing items with a bright color. The navy tones the pink down a bit and makes a statement.  This is one of the Gap lightweight sweaters I got in early Spring...perfect for Spring and Fall/Winter and I love the colors...its on sale now for $24.99!  I didn't get a picture of my feet because my cat was OBSESSED with staring into the mirror while I did this out fit LOL...and yes my dog Baylee had to be in the picture too.  When you have 8 animals there is little escape ;)

On my feet I had my Michael Kors flats on...I have them in hot pink too and LOVE them...so comfy and stylin'.  But white, brown or nude sandals/wedges or boots would look great with this too.

OUTFIT #7

And last but not least I paired them with a floral top and Coach sandals for a casual everyday look.  The top is from Loft from 2 years ago but its one of my faves.  The sandals I got because I love the nude color and style...nice and casual.  Nail polish by Essie (In The Cab-ana) LOL!

Both of these colors (yellow & aquas) would look awesome paired with coral as well.

Treat da' Feets!

I love shoes and I cannot lie...hahahaha...seriously I do...almost as much as books!
My husband looks in my closet and says I have enough and then he laughs...because he knows I'm gonna get more. Yet he is the one that got me a shoe gift certificate for Christmas in an envelope that says "For Your Shoe Fund" bwahahaha...good man he is!  And I am very peculiar about how I treat my feet...those babies have to support me for many more years (crossing fingers) so I like pretty shoes that are extremely comfy and good value for my dollar.

When I was a teen and in my 20's I was guilty of wearing some shoes that while gorgeous didn't help my feet in any way.  These days I want BOTH..comfort and style and I'm willing to pay a bit more for them if need be.  However these days you can find comfy shoes that look fab and won't break the bank...always a BONUS!

Most people that know me very well, know that I'm almost always in some form of heels or wedges or heeled boots. Strange I know but I have weird muscles in the bottoms of my feet and heels are more comfortable for me. But I do vacillitate between flats and heels regularly.

And I have odd sized feet...my one foot is a 9 and my other is just over an 8.5 which means I always get blisters in most shoes because I have to fit the size 9 foot ugh.  I was a size 8 when I got married and then after the first child I was an 8.5 and then when Riley was born my one foot grow a bit more just to mess with me.  OY VEY! The joys of kids right? TMI? Share my feet grief? HAHAHA

I thought I'd share some of favorite styles of shoes/and brands I wear in the Spring/Summer season that work with my weird feet, that hold up well and are comfy. I wear some of these so much that I buy them in black/cream/brown if they are available and usually stock up on extra pairs (especially if they are on sale)...I mean if they are cute and comfy and you may not be able to get them again...the HORRORS!!!

First up are these Toms wedges...they release different versions every year and in different colors/patterns but these babies are amazingly, super comfy and durable.  Best part is they donate a pair of shoes for every pair you buy to those in need...that's a real BONUS!!  I love this nude color, perfect for all your outfits but the black ones rock too ;)  No I do not like the regular Toms flat slipper-like shoes, nope I will not wear them as I find them fugly as all get out LOL.  However my mom and daughter swear by them and they do hold up well and you can toss them in the washing machine which is great for them, me I'll skip 'em!

And I love a pretty, delicate heel in white or black for dressing up just a little more for all those events you may go to.  I also am a fan of the t-strap myself and I have these shoes by Nine West although I got mine a couple years ago and they didn't have the little bar on the front like these do.  Sturdy enough to be comfortable and not too high that you walk like Bambi KWIM ;)  Although I can run in most heels up to 5"...my secret talent hahahaha!

I have yet to buy a pair of Sofft shoes that I don't love to death.  I have these  (they come in many colors each year) and they are $99 but you can find them on sale for around $70 if you wait or look for deals.  And they are WORTH IT. I have 2 pairs (with a slightly higher heel) from 2 years ago that I wore many hours teaching my classes up to 12 hours a day, running through airports and just out and about...and they are still in good shape. That's good quality when they hold up well through all that.  And they are just as cute with jeans as they are with shorts and fun sundresses...makes them perfecto for Spring/Summer!

These are very similar to my Franco Sarto sandals I got last year. I think the designer changes the design a wee bit every year although its the same basic sandal. Mine are smooth leather instead of basket-weave on the t-strap area but other than that they are the same. And superbly comfy and cute for summer!  I wore them all around Key West walking during our summer vacation last year and my feet did very well.  Franco Sarto is one of my fave brands too....I won't say how many pairs of shoes has his name on them in my closet but its a fewwwww. But I will say it made my day when they favorited my Instagram pic of my new boots this fall...hahahaha!

And I'm a sucker for pointy-toed flats by Gabriella Rocha. I bought mine over 6 years ago in black, red, gray, leopard and brown patent leather (mine have small buckles on the toes).  And I STILL wear them all the time and they were each under $50 a pair...super comfy and cute. In fact I wore my gray ones the other day and the saleslady in the Coach store (shhh I was just lookin'... lol) asked who they were by because she loved them.  Score...hahaha!  I don't see my buckle-toe ones anywhere for sale any longer but I need some nude flats and I like these a lot which are similar in style and shape to the ones I already own.  I know they will fit and be comfy and the lil' bit of bling works too :)

And then I have these awesome Teva sandals in my arsenal.  We hike a bit in the summer and usually are going to amusement parks and places where my feet can get wet (great for Disney).  So I bought this style a few years ago and they are still doing very well. They dry really quickly, never give me blisters and are cushy enough to support your feet through the miles.  I had a pair of Columbia ones before these that I wore out, but I must say I like the Tevas a bit better.  Plus you can find them on sale online and in stores easily...never pay full price for shoes...NEVER!! (or if you do because you are WEAK, watch for sales at the store on what you bought...take your receipt back and ask for the discount..most stores will honor that..trust me)

And these Clarks I hope to add to my collection this year hehehe...because I love the cognac brown color and weave texture on them, so classy!  Yes, they look high but remember they are platform so they aren't as high as they look for your feetsies. (hubby is already groaning but even he will admit I wear my shoes till they DIE).  Clarks has some cute shoes out nowadays that are a bit more fashionable but still very comfortable and of course great quality.  I actually tried these on in the store to check my size, then I go home and search online for the best prices or coupons...I'm a deal-girl-kinda shopper. I'm always checking around for the best price and always check Amazon too, they sometimes carry a great brand for a lot less.  If you aren't a fan of the height, they have some cute lower wedge styles that would be fab for summer too ;)

These DreamWalk "Ball of Foot Cushions" are da'bomb...seriously comfy additions to your shoes when there is extra pressure on those areas. I highly recommend them!

And you better believe I always have a box of these in the house and at least 2 bandages in my purse at any given time....blisters are no joke!  And these will stay on for days even after showering so they last and are cushioned well.  I also have the Band-Aid blister stick I use if I think any new shoes may give me an issue.
And when I'm in my house I'm barefoot or have my fuzzy slippers on.  I only wear shoes when I am OUT of the house, I like bare feet in the summer and outside...I'm a country girl ya know! But I have winter and summer slippers that I scuff around in and sometimes I have to make sure I actually don't wear them out because they are so comfy LOL!  I got a pair of blue Ugg slippers on sale at Macy's 2 years ago for 65% off and they are still in great shape...love them babies!  And when I leave the house you can bet my Baylee dog will take one and go hide it, its just what she does...every darn annoying but cute time!

I mean, even Dorothy was ALL about the shoes right?

What Kind of Shoes Are Your Fave in the Summer???
Do you have a shoe brand that is always no-fail?
