Century (1/2 that is)

I'm stretching the letter just a bit to fit the letter C.  One-half century is how long my husband and I  have been married.

Last Friday night was a colossal event filled with all the trimmings.

 My flowers for the cake table still looks great.  The number 50 (half-century) in gold.

Beautiful cream and sugar bowl from a dear friend, vintage ones too.

Now, where to display all the beautiful pieces?

BLOWOUT

50 years and counting. Last night was a highlight in our years together, we lost count at 100 guests. Our daughter, the hostess, was phenomenal.  The photographer took many photos so all I have right now are a few shots from my cell phone.

My music pastor took this one.

Our daughter had this made for us and I am in love with it.

It is SO special.

Baseball in America

Baseball is American's favorite pastime and I finally went to my first game of the season yesterday. Such a rich heritage for this country, unlike other sports you can compete if you are short, tall, slender or stocky. I love this game and KC is the home of the Black Baseball League Hall of Fame, a great destination spot to add if you haven't been.

The Royals stadium is one of the nicest in the country.

Eric Hosmer is one of our guys, the MVP of the All Star Game.

What started out as a game called "rounders" and games played with sticks in the streets has become a game everyone can get around and enjoy.

Tree

On this Monday I have a new wall decoration to share. I purchased this tree and makes a perfect entry way wall feature.

The words "believe", "treasure",  "cherish", "dream" and "love" follows the trunk of the tree to it's limbs.  It says a lot and describes what it takes to make a home.

A is for accomplishment

Late late for a very important ABC Wednesday date. I've been preparing for a VERY important date for us.

We have accomplished as a couple a big date for us, our 50th Wedding Anniversary.  This coming friday we are celebrating with family and friends who have crossed our path and shared our joys and sorrows for the last 50 years.

Planning is very familiar to that of a wedding, the perfect dress, food, decorations, venue, invitations and my daughter has done everything but the dress. She is planning a wonderful affair and we are looking so forward to seeing old friends.  Pictures will follow!!

Zesty

The last letter has arrived in this round of ABC Wednesday and my word for Z is Zesty!!

Vocabulary.com gives the definition of zesty as something fun and exciting, a spirited crowd and spirited enjoyment. Nothing says spirited around here more than Independence Day.

We had 18 zesty celebrants here eating, laughing, smore making and firework shooting.

From 1 years old to 72 years of age all enjoyed being zesty.

The hosts hubby and myself around 11:00, time to say goodnight.
