“Never ever mistake her silence for weakness.
Remember that sometimes the air stills, before the onset of a hurricane.”
Remember that sometimes the air stills, before the onset of a hurricane.”
-Nikita Gill
Inspired by the words of a young British-Indian writer, Nikita Gill, I decided to try to describe what bothers me for some time now.
Often percieved by people she deals with as a kind, helpful and polite person... simultaneously being quiet and even a bit shy. Trying to avoid arguments and gossips. It occured to her lately, that being like that, she might be seen as fragile, soft and easy to "manage", even easy to treat unkindly. And she had been. Some people were sure they could have done anything and she would not react.
Well.
She strongly believes that if someone is simply good, they will never take advantage of honest and kind behaviour. However, sometimes it seems to be extremely difficult to find that sort of people. If one does, they can consider themselves truly lucky.
A message to others?
She might seem apparently fragile on the outside. How do you know what really goes on inside, what battles has she come through? Oh yes, she can bear pretty much, more than you can imagine. Many unspoken words lie at the bottom of her heart. It does not mean they will lie there forever.
One day you will hear them in a way that will smash you down.
Will you be surprised?
Just remember, that sometimes the air stills before the onset of a hurricane.
