that'll be $30. thanks.

Some updates:

my friends and i went to this ice cream shop in china town. it's called french reviera (or something). We ordered this massive ice cream meant for 2 people. it's called "Rainbow". It contained all the flavours available in that shop, from chocolate, rum and raisin, to banana and rock mellon.

it costs $30 but don't worry.. 4 of us ate, so 7.50 each for ice cream. i don't think ice cream in swensons cost that much also.

just plain ridiculous

i was just speechless when i read about the news that the couple who hugged and kissed in public will be taken to court(from the limited resources i read).

this is what a blogger said:

"Kissing and hugging are expressions of affection universal to humankind, and they’re not restricted to or bound by Western or Eastern values. The fact that these expressions of affection have not been a problem in the past and has now become a punishable offence, points to the degree of intolerance and narrow-mindedness on the part of the authorities."

another blog entry about this issue: source

the news even got to the UK: BBC

what's malaysia coming to these days..
i hope and pray that the govt will be more open minded about this issue.

blogging assesment

yo wasszup. i'm currently doing this subject in uni which requires us to blog and create websites as our assesment. how chun(or boring/mundane) is that?? since i have nothing to post, i just post this lah, the entry i posted at the subject blog website.

The article by Clive Thompson: Blogs to Riches talks about how blogs have turned out to be a money making business. With free blog services like Blogspot, Xanga and Tabulas, almost anyone can start blogging. Some start it off as a hobby, publishing posts about their interests whereas some do it to earn an income.

For the latter group, they must realise there are 3 levels of popularity in the blogsphere: A, B and C (A being the best). The blogger can start slugging it out once the he/she accept the fact that obtaining an A level blog isn't going to be easy.

Next, in order for a blog to be famous, it just has to be linked by the thousands if not the hundred thousands of other blogs. To have such an amount of readers requires either good/witty/exciting posts or being linked by one of the A level bloggers. Once a blog has a worthy amount of readers to be called an A blog, only then will it be come famous.

Now this is where it gets noticed by advertisers which pay anywhere from $5 to $30 per 1000 views. Gawker, a gossip site, has average page views of 200,000. Hence, this could amount to $4000 a day. That's $28,000 a week.

Money does not come easy. This is certainly true for those who earn a living by blogging. In order to keep readers hooked and coming back, he/she has to constantly update the posts around the clock. John Battelle owner of Federated Media went on a book tour with his published book on Google and neglected his blog for a few days. What resulted was emails threatening to pull out from his blog. There's one which read "If you don't get your sh*t together, I'm out of here"
