"So Sally can wait..." as can our little girl

Since we are all waiting for our baby to arrive, how about a little music?

This video is one of Wils' all-time favorites. The song, also one of his favorites, came out 10 (TEN!) years ago last week, and it brings back all kinds of memories...especially from living in Europe at around the same time. I recall one time where I was sick, but was singing the song with a friend in our dorm kitchen, as he strummed his guitar. He thought I sang "And so, snots away!" as the refrain.

Thanks. Enjoy. Come back for more.

Family Christmas baby shower

In the hope that some of these people will start visiting the site more often once they see their faces up on the Internet (hint, hint), we're posting this group photo from our "Couples Baby Shower" in Layton, Utah at Christmastime!

This is the shower where Matt was the emcee extraordinaire, and people had to answer obscenely arcane questions about us.

Sariah (in the middle, in the t-shirt) won the t-shirt for winning the tournament. Questions included "Who were Becky's roommates in Boston?" "What is her favorite color" (VERY questionable answer), "What team will Tim never root for?" and "How old was Tim when his parents gave him 'the talk'?"

We can't wait to see all of you in July, and some of you a lot sooner!

Just a few more days!

Baby's due-date: MONDAY, February 26th!

Inducement date: TUESDAY, March 6th!

That's right, folks. We are getting down to the wire. Becky's had a healthy pregnancy so far, and we have been very blessed.

We are very behind in keeping you all updated, and there a lot of photos we want to put on the blog. Hopefully, this weekend we'll upload a slew of them. Here are some of the most important ones...Enjoy!

This is Becky in front of the crib, in the nursery. People have asked for updated photos of her in all her beautiful pregnant glory! She looks amazing for 9 months pregnant. I think the only thing that bothers her physically are her ankles and feet, which she affectionately terms "sausages."
Wils, taking a tip from his friend Lisa over at http://moorlaps.blogspot.com, went to LUSH in Harvard Square last night for some treats for his dear wife. What a store! The melt-in-your-hands massage bar worked wonders for Becky last night. We will definitely be return customers. Of course, with it being Harvard Square, you can see the full definition of "it takes all sorts," and I got some...hmm..."suggestive" advice on how to use some of LUSH's products.

Becky showing off her handiwork...She bought, plotted-out, and assembled full closet organizers and shelves all by herself over the long weekend. We now have shelves in our bedroom and the nursery. Hallelujah! Great work, Love!
Keep on checking back here for last-minute updates and "breaking news" as our due-date inches closer!

The Last Long Weekend!

Been awhile since we've posted. Highlights of the past lucky 7 days include:
1. Getting a cool car seat.

2. Getting a sleek, lightweight stroller. See www.combi-intl.com for details; we got the "Cosmo [Kramer] EX." It has to be German-engineered, and even if it is not, I will proudly claim it is.

3. Assembling a dresser before work yesterday morning.

4. Celebrating Valentine's Day twice--once on the real day, which would've been postponed by a Young Men's/Young Women's "etiquette dinner" that same night...which itself was postponed due to a sick snow-freezing rain storm that has left Beantown under inches of slick ice--and once last night, the "original" Valentine's Day for Becks and Wils this year.

5. Becky got interviewed this morning by the Boston Globe, after a half-day of school. I love this private school--a half-day before the long weekend, PLUS an additional day off on Tuesday! We joke that the extra day off on the long weekend is to allow for travel time for the kids coming back from "holiday" in the Caribbean or a ski trip. As soon as the article is available, I'll post it here.

6. Now, Wils is off from 5pm tonight through 4pm tomorrow for "Army of Helaman," a camp-out with the Scouts. Becky, meanwhile, will enjoy the down time by putting the finishing touches on the nursery AND avoiding walking on this icy landscape. Full report come Monday!

School Shower

With Becky's maternity leave approaching fast, now's a good time to look back at a highlight from her teaching life this year...a SURPRISE double shower! The folks at Fessie sent her and Andromeda off in style in early December. The trick is that Becky helped plan Andromeda's shower, and convinced her to go to a common room under the guise of a meeting. Ta-da! It was baby shower time for Andromeda. Good job, Becks!

However, the joke was on her, too...the staff did a 2-for-1 and threw a shower for Becky at the same time. If I had strained my ear to hear, I bet I could've heard her surprised yells of enthusiastic elation as she found out.

A shot of the baby cake (which came home to Wils about half this size, and he wasted little time in further reducing it).

Fantastic hand-made blankets from Cindy. Our blanket currently commands a super spot in the nursery...adorning the glider, front and center in the room. It is wonderful, and what a great talent Cindy has. Thanks, Cindy!

If my memory hasn't been saddled in my brain by ever-increasing questions about parenthood and worries, I seem to recall that the school shower was the kick-off of the series of showers that Becky has had thrown for her. We have been very blessed. We will have to upload the rhyme that her colleagues wrote about being a mom and all of the duties that come along.

In her starring role as "Mommy-to-Be"

This photo of Becky was taken around Christmastime. I took a few last night, but wanted to have some chronological order to reviewing the most exciting moments of impending parenthood. Our baby "dropped" head-down sometime last week. Becky didn't really notice until she went to the doctor's for her weekly check-up. So, that is good news. It has been fun seeing the reactions of our friends who aren't totally "baby savvy" when we say that our baby "dropped." But the jokes only last for a little while...until Becky reminds Wils that he is only recently "baby savvy."
