When Jaxen was a Mushroom

My Jaxen loves to be the center of attention.
He loves to perform and to sing.
So when we got a flyer about a play he could audition for in our school district,
he was all over it.
He and his cute friend Evelyn both auditioned and both were cast as (singing and dancing) mushrooms!
They are so brave at their auditions and did awesome. Not everyone got a part, so he was so excited!

The play was Rupunzel and it was all done by elementary school kids. They did such a good job (especially the mushrooms).

Jaxen getting "picked" from the ground. Look at that smile!

All of Jaxen's grandparents and his uncle D came and watched him. He was so proud!
Man, I love this kid.

Jaxen and Evelyn may or may not be in love... I was so glad they both made it and they loved having this experience together.

All Things Halloween 2014

It's tradition in the Bradshaw family to have a pumpkin painting night.
But this year, due to scheduling issues, we weren't sure it would work out.
Jessi and Isaac went on a little vacation for their anniversary and their kids stayed with my parents, so one evening, I drove down there and we made the pumpkin night happen.
It was my Mom and I, and eight children....

My mom's pumpkin patch...

Fortunately, this year it was warm enough to paint outside. We made the kids these amazing smocks out of garbage bags. They were pretty excited about them.

My cute little painter.

Boston eats crayons and markers, so I didn't think it was a good idea to give him paints. So he just had a good time throwing his pumpkin on the ground and then waiting for my mom or I to pick it up again. Good times.
Tyler said he was painting a guy named Bobby Jones on his pumpkin. Not creepy at all.

Jaxen's pumpkin.
The other faces of Bobby Jones...

Madee's Pumpkin.
When they were finished painting, the kids went in the front yard and played in the leaves.

This isn't exactly Halloween related... but close enough.
One afternoon, Jaxen and Madee came in and said there was a big spider in the yard.
I went out to investigate expecting a normal sized spider, only to find this enormous monster.
I took some pictures and then made Tim kill it. I mean, it was a cool looking spider, but I couldn't sleep knowing it was out there...

This is how Jaxen and Madee watched Tim kill it. ha ha

Boston was a skeleton for Halloween.
Jaxen was a vampire.
Madee was Snow White. My mom made the Snow White costume for Hazel several years ago.

Oh, you didn't know that Snow white wore zebra striped leggings underneath her dress?
Well she did.

^^ This picture summed up how seriously Madee took her trick or treating.
Tyler was a Dementor from Harry Potter. When he announced he wanted to be a Dementor I tried to talk him out of it... but he was determined. I wasn't sure I'd be able to find a costume, but Amazon saved the day.

Terrifying.
I wish you could see the inside of this garage. Our next door neighbors built an elaborate pirate ship, complete with a rope bridge and a waterfall. They had us over for dinner in it and it was like eating at the Blue Bayou at Disneyland. It was awesome.
Madee was a big fan of her costume.... especially the lipstick.
She's so pretty!!!

After a few houses, Boston was content to lounge in the wagon.
Boston sharing his candy...
See that look in his eyes? That's called a sugar - high.

Someone was handing out styrofoam planes. I think that was their favorite part.
I love having boys.

Another successful Halloween!
