Walking

John Brody has been taking steps for a couple of weeks now. Just in the last two days has he really started to take off! He's still wobbles a lot but he's getting the hang of it. It makes me a nervous wreck! I wish I could wrap everything in bubble wrap so he'd bounce when he plops and falls! John Brody is 13 months old today. He spent most of it walking. Ready or not here John Brody comes!

Beach Vacation

We took our first beach vacation with John Brody July 13-20, 2013. We had lots of fun! I do have to say that a baby at the beach is a lot of work. The fact that we could drive on the beach made it better because Will and Blake would drive our Acadia loaded down with the tent, towels, cooler, snacks, chairs, and toys to the beach and set up camp before we even got there. Tripp enjoyed playing in the shallow waves, sitting with his aunt Heidi as the waves rolled in, going out to the bigger waves if he was being carried by his daddy or Uncle Blake. John Brody enjoyed playing in a baby pool of salt water, crawling around in the sand, and taking long naps in my lap on the beach. While we were at the beach we celebrated my 33rd birthday with a fun dinner out at Inlet Harbor Restaurant. We also took Tripp to Sea World. Will and I appreciated Heidi and Blake keeping John Brody so it could be a day for Tripp and our attention focused on Tripp. We really enjoyed our week vacation and hope to go back to the Daytona Beach Shores area again.

First Birthday Party

John Brody had a fun family and friend filled birthday party. Our very hungry caterpillar was surrounded by family and friends on Saturday, July 6th to celebrate turning one on July 3rd. We had sandwiches, fruit, chips, cake and ice cream for lunch. The children enjoyed playing inside and outside before and after opening gifts. How blessed John Brody is to be loved by so many! We missed some family and friends who were out of town due to it being a holiday weekend and of course, I'll always miss my parents. I hope they got a glimpse of the happy occasion from heaven. John Brody also got messages from family and friends via e-mail and Facebook which touched my heart that they remembered!

Here are a few pictures from the party...
