Today, Aug, 23, 2011, Emily started preschool at Little Scholar Academy. I can't believe my baby girl is old enough to be in school.
Emily packed her own backpack before we left the house; Elmo and her bunny blankie for show and tell, and paper "in case I need to write on it in preschool, mom." Ok, Sweetie. :)
She is in the same class as her cousin Darci, and I hoped that would get her to just go by herself, but I wasn't that lucky. After we walked in Emily insisted that she didn't like preschool and that we should go home. Nice try, Little Girl! :) I ended up having to stay with Emily for the first 30 min of class, watching as she slowly inched her way forward until she was sitting on the rug with the other kids. Everyone brought their favorite stuffed animal to share, each taking a turn telling the class what it was. But Emily never did want a turn. Her teachers were very patient and gave her several chances, but she wasn't interested.
But I can't say I really blame the girl. She is shy by nature, and has also had so much change in the last 3 months that I am surprised she went at all! I'm sure it will get better as she keeps going.

While Mommy packs
The girls have made life interesting while I have been packing. I guess when you don't have any toys you have to get creative!
Again
It's moving day......again. I swear, if I never move again it will be too soon. We leave this lovely state of CO tomorrow. See you all in UT!
PS, soooo not sad to leave that ghetto couch or the full size mattress behind. Yay for having our own stuff again!

Little brother got an owie
DON'T LOOK IF YOU GET QUEASY!!!
A lot of you know my little brother Toddy......
He got a big owie today and is currently getting stitched up at the hospital. Something about hauling broken up tile and wire mesh to the trash can, getting it caught in his arm, ripping a chunk of flesh out......yikes.
Poor kid.

New bed
Apparently Emily's bed wasn't good enough for her tonight? Or maybe she just wanted to be closer to Mom and Dad?
Nattie's 2 yr well check
If I write it down here, maybe it won't get lost in the move next week!
Height: 34 in and 63rd percentile. Hello!
Weight: 23 lbs and 8th percentile. Still my itty bitty girl.
Head: 19 in and 71st percentile. She has the giant Jones head; what can I say? And it was really fun to birth, let me tell you.
Nattie is putting 3 and 4 words together as she talks, is very much in the "SELF" stage and must do everything on her own, and still naps 3 ish hours every afternoon.
She loves anything pink, Minnie Mouse, or Princess. Yes, she can name every single princess, and knows most of the Prince's names that they marry, too. And it breaks her heart that "Rella's" (cinderella) sisters ripped her dress.
She often carries around her diapers because they have minnie mouse on them and it's the only minnie thing we own. Don't worry though, we are fixing that issue on Sunday for her birthday. :)
Nattie will sit and read books with me all day long, she is interested in the potty seat, and is excited to sleep in a big girl bed "when we move to UT."
Nattie also sings, and knows the sleeping beauty "i know you" song, popcorn popping, itsy bitsy spider, bubblebee, book of mormon stories, bipidi, bopidi, boo from cinderella (spelling??) And tell me the stories of Jesus.
She is one smart cookie, loves to laugh and chase her sister, climb out of her pack and play, swim, play dress ups, and is still obsessed with her Daddy.
We love you Nattie!

Where did she learn that?
Today the girls and I were driving in the car and Emily was asking about the clouds and the sky etc. Then Nattie chimed in:
Nattie: "Jesus! Jesus!"
Mom, confused: "yeah....is that where Jesus lives?"
Nattie: "no. Make it!"
Mom, stilled confused: "make it? What?"
And then it finally dawns on me..... "oh! Did Jesus make the clouds?"
Nattie: "YEAH!" Just as excited as can be.
Pretty sure we have never taught her that Jesus made the clouds. Thank you, awesome Nursery Leaders for teaching my child that Jesus made clouds. :)

Emily's projects
Emily is transitioning to no naps, so on days when we hang out whike Nattie is sleeping, Emily does "my projects." It keeps her quietly occupied so I can have some free time, and she has a lot of fun too.
Emily always insists that her pictures be hung on the fridge for display.
Does anyone have other craft project ideas for a three year old?
