Monkey - Coffee - Soaptheme : Christmas
I was a monkey. I used to hang from trees to trees with my fellow monk-mates. I lived in the woods near a farmer's house. She had a girl, named Hanna. They used to stroll around and talk. I don't really care what they were talking about eventhough I understands them perfectly. Monkeys speaks english too. Just in our own way.
Anyway, that was the past. I'm human now. At least for today. I should really thank the funny looking old man with his snowy white beards. He came to me one day and offered me a gift. So, here I am, a human.
I just transform and the without my fur, it's so cold! Even with my furs it still feel cold. I think my mom is right from teaching me to hibernate at this time of year. But I guess it's a good thing I didn't because if I do, then I won't be able to meet that red-loving grandpa and he won't give me this transforming gift.
"Hey," I heard someone behind me. I turned around and saw Hanna. I stare at her blankly, "Oh! I thought my eyes are playing tricks! Are you okay?" she walked closer to me and gasped, "You're na.. not wearing anything! Aren't you freezing?!" she quickly took off her coat and gave it to me.
I wanna say thanks as I put them on, but my tounges are numb from the freezing weather.
"You're shivering! Oh dear, let's get you inside." she helped me get up and took me to the farmer's house.
It is a long walk but it is worth it. The house is warm and comfy. She placed me in front of the burning woods and told me to wait while she walks away.
"I made you a hot coffee. I hope you like it, there's nothing in here anymore except tap water, of course. But it's freezingly cold." she handed something like a coconut cut in half thingy to me. I saw this thing sometimes. Hanna and the old farmer used to hold this thing and sit on the porch.
"Thanks." I said awkwardly. I never said english this way. It feels new. It's like learning a language all over again.
"Are you feeling warmer now?" she hand me a thick fabric and sat on the chair beside me.
"Yea.." I replied. I pulled the fabric around me. I sipped on the coffee. It taste good! The bitter sensation at the end of my tounge. "It's good.."
She smiled, "Thanks. Dad used to like it too."
The farmer. I haven't seen him in awhile, "Where.. is. he?" I asked.
"He died a month ago." she answered easily. "Heartattack."
"What about farm..?" I asked uncontrolly. I saw farmer everyday in the lawn. It's very beautiful now because of him. Who's gonna take care of it now?
"You knew?" she chuckled, "It's such a shame. I can't even do half of the thing he did. I'm planning on selling the whole place and move closer to town." she shrugged and laughed bitterly, "What a gloomy christmas."
"Christmas?" I asked. I ever heard her talking about it. But I never know what that is.
"Yeah. We celebrate christmas. Do you?" she asked back.
"What is christmas?" I asked again.
Her eyes went wider, "You don't know what is Christmas?" seeing no response from me, she scoffed, "Seriously?" I keep staring at her blankly. "Hm.." she started, "It's some sort of celebration. We celebrate the born of Jesus Christ. You know who he is, right?" she asked, smiling.
I like her smile and her voice. I have been listening to it all this time and I never got the chance to actually talk with it. So instead of telling the truth that I know about Jesus, the Creator, I lied. "No."
"No?!" she asked, almost shouting. "Then you mustn't know the whole story about him." she said,"Dad used to tell me stories about him." het eyes stares far away. She must be thinking about the farmer since she goes silent for awhile with blank eyes. She tilt her head down and smile to the ground. "Well, it's a long story to tell. Why don't you take a bath first and I'll tell you all about it." She gave me a calming smile and I know it's gonna be my best winter.
