Long time no blog...

Ok.....lots of stuff happened:
none I can remember! Gotta try blog more frequently...

Ok at least I can recall wat happened over the weekend:
Got to have a nice dinner wif miz Chan at IMM at a Thai restaurant. Nice food. Nice price. heh....even my wallet's happy too! Gotta scrimp abit... can't spend much of my bonus...they are meant for covering my expenses for my nov trip to KK.

Spent some time at Zehan's place before going to watch Stephen Chow's Kung Fu. Not as funny as his old nonsense films, which I'm a big fan by the way.(as if u all cannot tell...)

Slept all the way till 1+ on Christmas day.... Miz Chan place is damn good to nuah! Then manage to hone my frying pan skills for lunch...too bad she ain't got much appetite that day.
Evening: Met up wif Colin, Apryl, Wilson, LZR, Minyi and my evil twin Joe whom I've not met like since after poly days. Had a llloooong drive all the way to Tampines just to eat....Pizza Hut. Jeezz..
After that, it's a nuahing n tok kok session at Pasir Ris park. Lucky was using company lorry...dun hafta pay for diesel!!! heh.

Oh yeah....gotta control my FLashlight collection urge..or wat Wilson call a fetish, just indulged myself to a Surefire L5 Lumamax and a Nuwai ALX-253L. Both of which is priced at a level which most ppl wun consider possible for a LED torchlight. Heng me got a Civil servant(fat bonus)sponsor-my bro!
Next target: Innova 24/7, Surefire U2 Ultra(Whoa! Ouch -wallet) and LongBow Micra 2210. Ok...gotta start saving....

There was one article on the Wed papers that almost crushed my hopes for the longest weekend holiday an average Singaporean can have. It's the one wif the report that all air ticket to popular locations were sold out due to the holidays cum weekend combo. But my enthusiasm n hope pushed on even though there's a fly in my office constantly buzzing me about how he knows about the airline n how experience he is and that he knows that the chances of getting an air tickets are zero....blah blah blah...
Well just a simple phone call later n I managed to shut his yapping trap. (but he still tried to save face n continue yapping about how the price will be ex...blah3.)
Yeah! Finally after more than half a decade,
I can finally go Kota Kinabalu!!

Hmm... Finally signed up for lessons at Kuen. After all the free trial lessons I have been given, it should be quite safe to assume my knee can take the punishment. Oh well this is the first time where I will be training under a coach. And my bulging waistline ain't gonna make this pretty but wat the heck.... u gotta start jumping somewhere. It also mean that I will be broke for the next two months. Haiz. Tradeoffs.

Attended the Prime Minister Dialogue 04 Last Sat. Yeah even at this age, this is the first time that I actually stepped into the Istana compound. Was suppose to be networking n switch to my political side to mingle with the crowd which consist of youth organisations, JCs, Polys reps, gov reps while Wilson mixed wif his PAYM side. But was not really in much of a mood that night. Maybe I lost my touch. Ended up only managed to speak with people from SPD n some hearing impaired reps(no, i dunno sign language, there was a translator around). Later also got shake the PM's hands when he briefly mingled around :)

Fortunately the dialogue was not as boring n there was quite a few laughs too(still cannot stand some fake political laughters of some though) The topics dicussed was nothing new as u can mostly find them on the Straits Times forum section everyday. N most of the questions they asked can be answered by themselves if they bother to make an effort to think more. Maybe they needed more assurance from the mouth of the PM himself. But the more irritating ones were a guy from SMU, somehow all of us agree that he should be slap for trying to act seh n ask irrelevant questions, a lady that ask sensitive n totally selfish queries and the last speaker from PAYM who actually try to ACT CUTE!!!! yes u din read wrong... ACT CUTE!! in front of the minister. " Oh prime minister sir can I call u Pa Pa"!!!! WAAHHHHHH Laoooo...... N her act cute voice n TWO PONY TAILS did help to emphasize the point too. Dun she know that she's infringing on YH's territory liao!! Yeah, she's from Wilson's group too. Heh...

At least the buffet dinner was the best I have ever eaten. Even better then Safisam '03 which was the former best cos there was a few Generals around including the chief of defence force. But I guess having the PM around beats that!

Finally got to meet Xiao Laoshi from the renowned Telok Blangah CC. But not in the situation I would have hope to be. We exchanged handshake while he was sprawling down on all fours at the back of his van searching for some deng long pants for Caesar, another trainee at Kuen. From the way he was dress n behaved, he could easily be taken for yet another middle aged uncle down the streets. Those u would find hanging around in Kopi tiam one.
Yeah also just found out that Meng laoshi, the one I'm currently learning Bagua Zhang from is actually his wife.
How qiao.

Back from the trip from Gunang Ledang or more popularly called Mt Ophir to S'poreans. Now my calf n thighs aching like there's no tomorrow. Shows how fit I'm nowadays...haiz....Maybe I can give the excuse that it was a pretty rushed trip? And that I din sleep well for the past few days...actually spent friday night sleeping over at Kuen culture due to the storm!!! N had to wake at four plus to rush home n pack my stuff! I luv excuses...

It was a nice trip up the mountain.....still found the view spectacular, made lotsa new frens and Tony n Co still din lose the habit of lugging up a yr worth of food supply to cook up in the mountain...Let's see wat we cooked at our camp site: fried dumplings, pennes n other pasta in tomato gravy wif mozerella cheese, varied instant noodles, instant soup, big chunks of fried chicken, crabstick in black pepper sauce, sausages..etc...
Even all ten of us cannot really finish the food. Wish u were there Whale. The food was really delicious n plentiful.
But it was damn cold especially when it rained at night...amplified by the actions of Tony n his new gf...Brrrrr.......

Now if only the aching would stop...
dunno how i'm gonna do the tang yi bu for Bagua Zhang on tuesday...

Just watched the Korean horror show Oujia Board the other day wif Miss Chan the "Korean Horror Fan". Just yet another horror borer from kim chi land.
But there was the beginning scene when the students tried to summon the spirit. Bunshinsaba...Bunshinsaba....Bunshinsaba....

Kinda felt a sense of familiarity when they chanted that.
Then realised: Bunshin-SABA!
HAHAH!
Whoa I'm sure WQ will be over his head when he realised that there are Korean PLMMs in school uniforms chanting his name! Wooo!

Just back from KL... into reality. Which translate into tons of work. the pass two days was quite hectic, running around the office coordinating several customers at once. Even had a bloke from Hitachi calling me 10 mins after I woke up.

Just a recap on the weekends.

Received a sudden phone call around 11 when I was Kuen practicing (actually was downloading n watching wushu videos). Turned out to be Bog Imp n frens. Sudden change of plans to drive up instead of riding so they decided to chio me along for the trip to Sepang. Had to wake up at 5 the next day...kaoz.. after doing all the xuan feng jiao.

Sat morning was a perfect example of deja vu. Dark, cold, n raining while waiting for Alvin's car at the void deck. The conditions are so damn eeriely similar as last's yr's. At the 2nd link, as expected, there was a long queue of MotoGP pilgrims like us albeit on bikes. All dressed in leather(bike jackets, not wat u think), Really pity them riding 160+km/hr in the rain in the northsouth highways but then again, this is one of the many pains of biking that makes life all the more worth living. Something only bikers know wat I'm yapping about.

This time we were really lao chiau already took us a little more then 2 hrs to reach the track. Bought tickets, saw abit of their practise rounds, shopped around the pasar malam set up to cash in on the event(n tok us tourists). Next was booking into our accomodation at Marriott Hotel in KL. Got Lost on the way to there for an hour before a kind soul offered help at a petrol kiosk.

Marriott Hotel n Mint Hotel(where we stayed last yr) was a real contrast from each other.... wish I got a way of posting the pics here.... U can say the room conditions were as different as a taxi driver from a TP test day hopeful. One had multiple Cable channels while the other had loose cables sticking out of the wall....kaoz.

Did plenty of shopping. Window shopping that is. After contributing $170 to the " victim of advancement in road traffic technology ambush" fund last week, it din leave me much. Noticed that there's a shopping complex that resembles queensway shopping centre, another sim lim square n even a takashimaya lookalike. Quite fascinated by this two storey pet shop in one of the megamalls. It sold exotics like chipmunks n star tortoises (weren't they endangered n illegal to sell?). But was in seventh heaven in one of the sports store. The martial arts section hung up nunchuckus of different weight, material n shapes. Even got a cute one the length of my index finger. There was also kicking pads, tongfas and pepper sprays. Couldn't resist but had to buy the extendable baton that Milla Jovovich used wif so much sey in Resident evil 2. Managed to get it through the custom. Maybe it's cos Alvin's car was covered in so much bird sh*t, the custom officer would either let us pass through fast or suffer the risk of bird flu!

Finally got to visit KLCC n photograph the petronas towers. Also got to try out KL Zouk....in my usual getup! Except that I exchanged my sandals wif Bog Imp's sport shoes...HAh... who can claimed that they went chionging in a logcok T-shirt n shorts n no socks!! Every single staff that passed by me just had to look down...hehe...

The actual race was boring to say the least as usual, Valentino Rossi had to dominate from head to toe as always.... Not much overtaking action but that's to be expected from a highspeed track like Sepang. Colin Edward never even made it into top 10...sianz...n to think he was third on the board in qualifying when I left the place on sat, but somehow he dropped to 13th. At least Barros fought hard in the beginning.

Ok... KL over.... two weekends later it's time for Gunung Ledang.... Hope my knee can take it.

Saturday, October 09, 2004

Time for my annual pilgrimage to Sepang for another round of MotoGP!!
Can't believe it's been one yr liao!
See ya all after the weekends folks!
(Yeah I know it's sudden, I feel so too!)

Recap on the weekends:

Sat: damn busy a day doing wat I'm most renown for. Driving. Or more specifically, moving stuff around for Miz Chan n her little boys n girls at NP FSV. N wat alot of "stuffs"! Filled the whole of my lorry's cab! From all sorts of lighting equipment, to all sorts of stands, to sound equipment, camera, dolly tracks film rolls and got-knows-wats-in-those-1-ton-boxes. Left the house at 7 in the morning n transported the filming equipment from bus stops to private housings to community hospitals. Could use such a workout every week but definitely not the group's attitude....Really feel sad for Miz Chan to have to work wif such a bunch of childish jerks.

Got to work some part time job wif Zhong Rong at woodlands that night. Of all the neighbourhood, it's got to be woodlands, the only place i can get lost(which I did). Once again, the ugly side of S'poreans got to rear it's head again when it's time to give out free lanterns n mooncake. It's still nowhere as horrible as the crowd at Exxonmobil's family day last week but it's bad enuf. I even had to escot the VIP for the night(some assoc Prof from woodlands GRC) who had to make a detour through the stage(which he almost fell from) bcos of the rowdy crowd. At least the kids who played the games on stage are damn cute. Well at $10 an hour, I can't complain too much can I? Esp when there's an ah lian Chang Er for me to disturb too! hah!

Sun: Got chio by Jiaming to go down Kuen for a practise session. Originally suppose to have a whole bunch of National team members down but somehow they make it. Got to Kuen too early n ended up watching Stephen Chow's God of cookery wif Jiaming n his elder bro Jiaqi. Had quite an nice ji ben gong training wif their resident coach Zhang Jian Feng. Yeah without a doubt he was damn good. n that was an understatement. Just one xunfeng tui of his made me wonder what Beijing does to the wushu trainees since young. Even our 'giraffe' Yi Yong can't even hold a candle to him in terms of tiaoyue. Well can't describe too much here. Some things have to be seen to be believed. He does quite a decent job at coaching too. Can feel slight improvement under his directions. Maybe it's the carpet. But then again, this is the FIRST time I was under proper instructions from a COACH! Feel damn paiseh wif Jiaming, Yi Yong n even two uncles doing xunfeng 360, 720. Even the Ang Moh auntie who competed in this yr's nationals was there too. It appears that Yi Yong has left Navy Divers Unit n sign on RSAF pilot(diff from Baby's role). But then again, he has always been Singapore wushu's Air force anyway.
Wah legs n shin bones still hurting even as I'm typing this. Nice.

Second round at woodlands Mid autuum event. Different location, same chaos. What S'poreans will do for free stuff. And those free stuff were just paper lanterns n mooncakes the size of golfballs? Sick.

Monday, September 20, 2004

Had quite a fun weekend. Got to earn extra $$ at Exxonmobil family day at Palawan beach. But sadly that was mostly used up to pay for my dental fees the very next day...
Was assigned to be the "waterboy" for the event but it ain't as sucky as it sounds. Got plenty of spare time to go around disturbing Raymond n the rest who were tending to their game booths. But the no.1 hilarious sight of the day got to be Zehan n Kelvin walking around in their Shark n clownfish costume!!! HAHHAAHA..... n to think I almost volunteered to be one of the mascot! Zehan was quite ons about it n kept disturbing the little kids at the events....while Kelvin brings new meaning to the phrase "dead fish". Imagine a long n skinny chiong Nemo walking around sian sian...

Got to see the ugly side of us S'porean yet again during dinner time when I was giving out the FREE macdonalds dinner....too disgusted to even discribe here....it was like the gates of hell was open for another round of HUNGRY ghost festival. Got to hand out cartons of HELLO KITTY toys from the happy meals too... aiyah..forgot to grab one for our dear WHALE.
Got to meet Ying Keat n Majdan who are now inside Exxonmobil. Not to mention a few engineers whom I antagonise during my poly attachment. N they still remember my name! It's like been 4 yrs already...but then again...I left quite an impression there too...heh.

Got to watch Dodgeball wif Wilson (Whale no.2)after the sentosa thing. Manage to crumble one of my molars when I accidentally chew on a popcorn seed. Well that's $45 to the dentist... Forgot to bring my wallet n Wilson had to pay for everything first.

Sun: Weiling's birthday.
Forced myself to sleep the whole day after the trip to dentist cos the pain in my gums was killing me. Woke in the evening n scooted off to her birthday celebration...sans wallet..again...wat are the chances? Was so damn paiseh cos I only knew about it AFTER I filled up my scooter wif petrol..... the counter lady was nice enuf to trust me to return taking only my HP no. Maybe I got an honest face....:p
Was quite an ok celebration as usual...surrounded by biotech ppl n listening them yapping all the way about bio stuff. *yawn* even the lights in Swensens cannot tahan n decided to black out!

Yeah one last thing, check out the link below. Heh....nice name for such an innocent link! HEheeh

Wah!! This blog has been in cryogenic suspension for an entire month liao!! This kinda shows how no life things have become for me.
Let's recap...as far a i can....(that means on last week onwards):

Got to contribute financially to the LTA's effort in rebuliding Nicole Highway just straight after getting my pay on 1 Sept..... By crossing the stupid Orchard rd ERP gantry without a cashcard.

Somehow my Creative mp3 player was in a good appetite again n decided to munch on Susan's NTU convo ball photos. Which I have no backup watsoeva.... Now dozens of NTU students want my head.....hope they can settle for one wif dyfunct memory..

The Creative customer care service centre leaves alot to be desired...in terms of service n their ability to lie.... which i just found out after waiting for 2 hrs. There was only ten ppl in front of me in the queue! Fell asleep in my working formal clothes n almost toked in my sleep n freak out the ppl beside me.

falconz: Can u fix the prob?
Creative crappy care personnel: Er we can help u format it!
((no I did not slept 2 hrs in this stuffy room(note: the air con was down too) just so that u can help me do something I can achieve by wriggling a few clicks wif my fingers!))
falconz: errrr....there's some impt files inside i would like to retrieve.
CCCP: Sorry it's not retrievable(w/o trying). I'll help u format it first!
falconz: :(
AFter FORMATTING my MP3 player:
falconz: this is not the first time this happened!
CCCP: Ok we'll replace wif a new one.
After testing out the new one.....
falconz: the new one's faulty too!! the music skips!
CCCP: Erm....nothing wrong wif the player!! it's the music's fault!!! U just try for one month see how loh.
falconz: Huh? :o

Ok aside wif our "techno pride of the country" whom just collaborated wif Lucasfilm n competed wif Apple.

One last whining: My immaculate 4 month old bike was crashed by Alex last night...wat more can I say! Argh->understatement.

To the flying Whale (muz have learnt too much from Baby):

Byez Whale!
Training wun be the same without a seeing a big mass flipping around!
be back soon!

Tuesday, August 03, 2004

Yeah!!!
Colin Edwards gets his first podium!!!
Sianz....
missed that GP....

Was thoroughly bullied by this taxi driver last Sat.... Kaoz...further downgrade my impression of taxi drivers from an already rock bottom image. But I wun create war, to tolerate is always the best thing to do. For Now. Let's just see how much more  air this bubble can take.

Today morning was quite chaotic with lotsa paperwork all messed up. Just becos I spent a day away from office doing maintenance yesterday.
At least got a whif of good news from Raymond.
NP Kitagaryu Ninja-do is finally getting a club house!
But I dun really believe the words of the PE lecturer Mr Thomas Tan.....I'll believe it when I finally step into it.

But if it was to be real, then it truely is a milestone! At least to me(n Ninjado) it is.
Dun really think anyone else can truely understand how significant it is to me.

All the effort n time.

Some like seafood.....while others enjoy instant noodles......

Bon appetite.

That is If you get ur "food" .......
If not can always hang around and hope for a catch.....

Me? I prefer to bugger off.
Seafood I Jiak3 Bueh3 Siao1 while instant noodles is wayyy too fast....dun get the pleasure in "preparation".
Sometimes it's the process that really matters.
Heh.

Monday, July 19, 2004

Both the NKF shows are over.....
Had lotsa great fun...
reminds of Poly days...

Oh well.
By the way, just happened to think of some bo liao stuff.....

Abbreviations: NP's Kung Fu Club= KFC
                           Junxiang's Johnhawk Performing Group=JPG

Nice.

Monday, July 12, 2004

Yeah!!!! Finally got to perform at NKF!! To think the only other public performance I did was only limited to the Far East Square one. Everything went well except that I almost fell off the platform when I did my first zhen ti tui. Hah, would have been a disaster n damn paiseh if I did that on national television LIVE!

Got to take a few pictures wif the mediacorp stars but got to salute Jamie Teo for being such a sport! See beh onz ah! She din even have those typical "air " that most artist have n behave more like any other street kid!

Haven been able to meet up much wif poor Miz Chan these few days due to my hectic schedule these days. But lucky she's quite understanding on that..

So many things happened recently but due to my pathetic memory, wasn't able to remember them to blog down...perhaps it's time to get a notebk....so i can record n blog it when I'm free.

Wasted....I did get down on my "Quan culture" pose but the camera didn't catch it.... maybe next sun bah.....heheh....

Friday, June 25, 2004

Yesterday:
Arrive half hr earlier then usual to office and immediately set off for(one of the most hectic days so far..) Holiday Inn to pick up the Directors n blah blah blah.....
From then on, got to visit the usual customer except Perkin Elmer n UMCi which I never been into their compound before.
And I thought AFPD was big...UMCi's building was worse. Just by standing at the guardpost, the view will make you wonder why u were not born the son of some semiconductor rat.
After such a long day of visiting customers, yes I did manage to doze off at everyone of the meetings, we still got to attend this dinner at East Coast Jumbo cos Super big shots from both our US n Jap parent company was in town...
At least there's this funny thing. There was this 11 women sitting at a neighbouring table n my manager actually mistaken them to be the famous 12 girls band from China....
Naturally this caused a huge excitement from my Jap president, senior director, director, GM. Cos supposedly, this group is very well received in JAp...

They turned out to be Korean....kaoz...

As if that was not enuf, still got to send them back to office after all the chili/pepper crab....left office only at 1030....My office block kinda creepy even wif the lights on...

at least got sumptuous n most imptly:FREE lunch n dinner .....

Monday, June 21, 2004

Whoa...entering a different and busier phase of life....Can tell by how "frequently" I blog nowadays...

Ok on wif the ramblings and complains....

This 'busy' is no longer the type that occupied my pre-working period of my life.
Needless to say I prefer to stuff my week wif camps, events, ninjado admin stuff then the current, customer support, driving to ulu places like Tampines, n attending meetings(esp those that are conducted in pure Japanese n I dun even understand a single sushi stuffed sentence they are blabbling in front of me.)

And last *FRIDAY* even had to stay at Hewlette Packard till 8!. But could had been worse, was suppose to stay till 11! This l'il ninja just had to think of ideas to escape
the weekend spoiler. Dun care if I work in Jap company or wat. Gambatte my ass.

Back in Ngee Ann,Ninjado is also currently declining cos whoever is at the helm just lost his flame during this holiday. Haiz...

Thank god there's still wushu.
Finally got Xu jiaolian to train me in the basics of xanda.
Coupled wif Quan ge's house moving on sat (surprise!! they dun have elevator!), my back still aches. But at least I enjoyed the work out! Maybe like wat Whale said, prolonged workout like this will enable us to beat Giraffe n In-Yer-Face at Kuen! Yeah! :)
So any hall dwellers need movers this holiday period?

Tuesday, May 25, 2004

My recent blood donation session n Baby's comment confirm it all!!
I'm ballooning up!
Nope, not becos of my new found Xing Fu...
It's due to lack of wushu, ninjado or just a simple neighbourhood jog.
Facing the computer whole day in an office whose air condition unit that can be used in a morgue dun help much either.

Better start my training again before I compete wif Whale in a Lard War....(ewww.)

Monday, May 17, 2004

Attended yet another MLM talk (kok) session on sun.
Same old tactic...
same old psychoing...
same old crap...

but this one was held in a super grand locale. Namely at Raffles City Convention Centre.
Shall try not to bash them too much...after all...dunno how many of my friends is into it now.
Dun really like working life nowadays. It seems like various associates that I made many years back are starting to contact me. N it's always for the same two reasons:

1) Insurance
2) MLM sh*t

Feels very sincere hoh?

Here's a advice for ppl into the above mentioned line of work. Pls be honest. If u are going to drag ppl out for such reasons just say so...dun pretend to "just wanna meet up" or come out to "lim kopi". Seriously, we are not idiots, insurance n MLM agents are DEFINITELY not new posts in the market. So far I have attended some double digit amount of such talks only cause I wanted to.

Fortunately, I dun really mind all that much attending those talks. Other than the fact that i'm onz about almost anything, there's much knowledge to be gained. Have personally observed n learnt much about human behavorior, presentation, market trends, etc from such events.

Ok......
as for my new scooter, it clocked a mileage of 260km on 9.6litres of Caltex platinum.
So the estimated consumption= 76.95mpg
Never exceeded my expectation but I'm satisfied liao....
But wait till my running in period is over n the return of my throttle happy wrist...
the figures are bound to plunge... :(

Friday, May 14, 2004

Just found out my GM is actually a big race fan. N we share a common knowledge of Japanese(duh!) racers! He was having much fun when I showed him the curvy roads at south buena vista(behind PGP). Can also see his surprised when he found out that it's just beside Science park. A place where alot of our customers are....can already imagine my GM challenging the road on a sat night....

Yeeaahhh....Having fun on my new scooter these few days. It's always shiok to own a new bike wif all the shiny glossy paintwork, horns that work, headlights that is actually more powerful then my extensive collection of torchlights. It's surprisingly quiet even for a four stroke engine. Can hardly hear or feel the engine running once the speed reaches 50km/h. Think the wind noise is even more of a nuisance! Kinda makes me feel like riding an electric scooter compared to my previous runner. Kinda makes each journey too clinically comfortable that's it's not so involving a ride anymore.....but at least conversations between me n a certain Miss Chan is easier along the tunnels of CTE....heh.

Sunday, May 02, 2004

Kanna disturbed by this road bully while fetching my girl girl back home...... Wah kaoz...even wanted to challenge me to a fight at the road shoulder along CTE......kinda reminded me of those 90s road bullies......haiz...very disturbing end to wat was a nice evening.

Wednesday, April 28, 2004

Wah lau....buang my scooter again today. Must be my bike getting angry at me for trying to trade it in for some other. Nothing much more then a scratch on me but got me worrying. The sprained portion is on my left knee. N it's not even recovered from my previous operation yet......

ok bad things aside.....at least some good things do happen once in a while.....*bliss*...
but at a time like this .....when poor whale is still nursing his wounds with "distractions".....

Wednesday, April 14, 2004

Not bad a week...not the routine wake, work, wushu, then slack in front of the net. But not everything is the way I would like it to be. Esp mon where three juniors as injured by me during sparring session. MY god!!! Dun think I ever injured so many ppl during training before n the worst part is that they came n went (down) one by one in under 3 mins.....wah kaoz..... dunno where was my grey matter that night.......Think must be too preoccupied to pull my punch......wanna know where they were hit? can refer to my msn nick these few days......Haiz...enuf on the matter...still guilty about it....

Attended a reception by MDA held at the new Asian Civilisation Museum (which by the way was a damn cool n class place!) yesterday. Saw lotsa big shots from the local film industry including Kelvin Tong (director of Chiak Hong...heh). But din hang around long......film industry? director? me? Hmmmm...maybe......since already a few short film scripts are already in the works....heh....

Yesterday night's major blackout was pretty fun! was watching VCD when everything just turned dark. Thought was a terrorist attack. Cos an explosion was heard before everything turned dark. And my flat's proximity to Ministry of Defence is no consolation either! From my corridor there's this paranomic view of the whole bukit panjang---in darkness!!! Then slowly whichever flat dweller that's still awake would lit their homes wif candles n u can see a simulated firefly effect across the street!!! The kitchen window was no less fun!!! Everyone in teck whye was playing wif their torches n shinning around the neighbourhood!!! Making the whole place look like a prison facility where a prisoner is escaping!!! Coupled wif the fact that lotsa police cars are zooming around wif their sirens on! Of cos lah....I joined in the fun wif my diving torch!!! heheh.....Looks like my extensive 'investment' in lighting equipment came in handy! But pitty those that were trapped in the lifts n in the LRT!...Yes...got saw a LRT that was trapped halfway wif ppl inside!!....
There was once the lights came back on n everyone was cheering ...for a second....before everything died again!! Followed but hiss n boos from downstairs.....n yes...I joined in too just for fun!

As for our dear Whale.....hang in there....
If u really need distractions.....u know who to call.....
anyone but me......call me only for sushi!!...HAhaHAahHAH

ok but at least Cat n Whale can happily crap again....
at least a bit of consolation?....

Saturday, April 03, 2004

Well not bad....enjoyed two days of my new environment without any bruise or scratches!! So far it's been interesting....it's not a desk bound job(even though I'm getting my own desk n pc next week) n I get to visit lotsa places I din think I would have the chance to visit. N I get to drive the company pickup too! Gonna learn some Jap if i'm gonna survive this job......
Was brought around several places today by my GM.......but was damn bored siah....everywhere we went, it always ends up in meeting rooms where other GMs n mine start to engage in discussions where it would last hrs!!!!! Worst of all....I dun even understand a f*c* they are saying.....cos the conversations are all in Jap.....sianz...so all I could do was sit around n TRY to keep awake.......Been like that from morning till evening where the last meeting took place in Tampines. End up I had to take a cab back to Jurong cos they will be working throughout the night....lucky the fare's reclaimable!

Went to see The Passion of the Christ after work......wif a horde of CHC ppl at cineleisure...apparently, CHC organised a free mass screening of all five cinemas at the same time......imagine the crowd.....well at least it's free!
It's a nice movie but a word of advise....unless u like watching really painful scenes like where jesus's skin was slowly being whipped off.....give it a pass eh? Think the girl sitting next to me was squirming in her seat......

Thursday, April 01, 2004

This is it.
Hope no cock-ups on the first day.
Wish me luck ppl!

May not be able to soar as free as I used to.....

Wooohhoooo!!! Yeah finally that office space at InQBuzz (or watever it's called) has been approved for ECO!!! Will be moving in this coming week! N about time too, been anticipating it for almost a year! For those who dunno wat I'm blabbing about, it's that red coloured bus-shaped building beside youth park in orchard rd. It' good to know that there's a "personal" space to slack after a hectic shopping session in Orchard!! heh..

Yeah!! This jobless bum somehow manage to get not ONE but THREE interviews between this n next week! Think it's all coming back now after all the tons of resume sent these past few months.

But somehow I'm not really that excited as I should be. Maybe it's due to the fact that failing all three interviews is always a possibility!! Even if I was to past the first one (which is tomorrow), how am I gonna smoke them long enuf so that I can get a glimpse of the other job options next week? Haiz....Was so confused that I made another trip down to NP LSCT dept to knock on my lecturer's door. N damn the weather....Not the first time that I was drenched from hair to sole but just cannot get usd to the feeling of standing in the office or searching for reads in the NP library wif my teeth chattering or my knees knocking themselves to bits....
Hope the weather will be better tomorrow.... it's bad enuf that I'm not very well informed of the activities of the company that will be interviewing me, but I damn sure will give a hell of an impression turning up looking like I just visited Whale in his natural habitat...

On a lighter note......found that not only does NUS wushu likes to patronise the clementi kopitiam but SP n NP wushu as well....a definite fav dinning spot for wu lin gao shou!! Now all it lacks is a banner that has the chinese character "cha2" (tea) n it can become one of those temp resting area for travellers that were featured in so many martial arts films......n the place always ended up being trashed by fights....heh....

Yeah!! finally finished my 4 duan qiang today!!!! But most prob I'll forget it again tomorrow.....

Today went down suntec city for yet another futile attempt at job employment. Din expect to find much at the career fair since I'm already receiving job opportunities everyday through JobsDB. N I was rite. The max no of companies at the fair that is employing grads wif diploma from chemical eng is only around 5. Imagine that.....just 5 pathetic little booths.....in the entire massive convention hall!!!! I managed to sign up a couple of forms but I ain't pining any hopes there either.
At least the orientation invitation letter from Shell finally arrived!!! A little encouragement to a somewhat bleak job search.

On a lighter note:
Kanna two super big disappointments earlier this week but things went unusually well today for me!!! It's almost like whateva I wished for just happened!! Haven had such luck in dunno how many donkey yrs liao....Well not that I'm complaining.. heheheh.... :)

Yeah another slacker's trip to ubin tomorrow!!! Always need to get away from the urban life once in a while......

Much personal stuff happened lately. Too lazy or restricted to blog down. Too early to determine it's for the better or worse. But I'll make the most of it...n have fun in the process......!

It's been two days since the Far East Square Wushu Display but the feeling of satisfaction is still wif me.....

Finally!! The juniors got to perform what was painfully practised throughout the month. No, the performance was not flawless but it more than surpassed my expectations. Perhaps I'm being abit too kan cheong but I ought to be. After all, it's our first public performance. Coupled wif the fact that most of them are year 1s n the one leading them is a bai kah senior..... There IS cause to be worried!!

What's more is that Ninja-do is not a very widely known martial arts nowadays and this performance have the ability to spread the first impression of us as either creme or crap....

The final result made all the blood vomitting, screaming, painful accidents( trust me...there were plenty during practise....esp wif the weapons!!) n the sacrifice of time worth it. Hope they learnt much from this experience. For me, at the very least I found out that it's not scary at all to perform in front of live audiences!! Next time maybe I'll be performing for wushu too!! hah!

Thanx ah Baby n Cat!! For this opportunity!!

Wow!! Not bad! Just received a letter in deep pink, dated all the way from Valentines day!! Nope, it ain't a love letter but a reminder from HDB Car Parks Section stating that I have not paid my parking fine ($8) n threatening to haul my ass to prison for three months or slap me wif a $2000 penalty if i dun pay up by day of the FES display. Not bad at all.......

Well at least i also received a renewal of my medical benefits from HSA. N i though they wouldn't renew it anymore due to late donorship of blood......well at least it's still good to know u can abuse the medical system even when u ORDed...!! hehheh...

Nothing really interesting today except that lao auntie the NP wushu ppl n I met while dining. It's obvious that she's not really in her right (or left) mind. Somehow she chose us to be the victims n sat down beside us n chat non-stop!
We can't do anything but enjoy the chat loh.... here's a small list of wat she blabbered......

1) Oh wah!! The monsoon this yr gonna be big!!! We Singaporeans are gonna be drowned!!!

2) The parliament Singapore consist of 10 Lee Kuan Yews, 6 Lee Xian Loongs (probably clones) n they are all out to control all S'poreans!!!! Whoa....wait wait..it gets better......

3) The Bird Flu Virus was actually created by Osama by feeding birds wif wateva@%&* n was meant to release to America but cos of he stong winds of the monsoon, all the birds are "blown" to Asia........

n lots of other crap.....almost laughed to death when she ask Kun Shyong (on the monsoon topic) whether if ocean waves could stop or reverse one!! Of cos our Kun ge was left speechless......while i laughed my lungs out......

Whoa...stamina n strength really cannot make it liao!! It really shows during yesterday's training wif the Ngee Ann wushu ppl. Really felt like collapsing halfway through training even though I already exempted myself from some of the routines that might rove harmful to my leggy situation. The jiaolian was an interesting n friendly old man. N it's fun to do some Zhou jia warm up routines. Was also learning the 3 duan Qiang in extreme details. Yep! I really needed that since my I never even trained my basics b4 back in NUS. Jumped straight into the competitive routines when I first joined. Fortunately the club is not as unestablished as I first thought. The senior teaching qiang was a former national team member too. N he def knows his stuff...

Well this intruder has successfully infiltrated yet another club!!! hahaha...

BYE BYE Guanghao!!

See ya in two yrs time!
Haiz....

They all slowly leaving liao....

Had quite a fun day down at Ngee Ann Open House. Visited my old laboratory, which is now refurbished wif air-con n lotza stuff.... Also made a trip to the brand new Ngee Ann Convention centre which now stands tall over where the Octagon used to be. It's a grand place....din have chance to explore it fully....yet. Used to have rumors saying that the old Octagon was used as a 'Bagua' symbol to keep the fengshui well n the roaming spirits at bay.....hmmm.....heh.....
As usual, the Atrium was crowded like siao but fortunately the Ninjado's booth was beside the industrial fan....finally we get a good spot!!!

Yet another countless incident to to remind me how small Singapore is:
New Towners set up a booth selling flowers at the atrium today. Bought one from this girl cos of her good attitude n to support my sec sch juniors. Three of us (Jieli, the girl n me) end up crapping n toking about our Sec sch stuff for an hour.....eventually found out that the New Town girl was the sister of Yim Yim...a good fren I haven seen in a while.....wah kaoz....beats the incident where one of my CNY visits led me to the place of one of my physio frens .....yah he turned out to be my relative....n tons others...

Tuesday, February 03, 2004

Went Peixing's place today wif a whole bunch of my ninjado juniors for our own form of reunion dinner wif astro club ppl...had lots of fun if not for the car acccident I had wif another Ah pu nei's car just downstairs.....

Now I believe in sixth sense...been sensing that an accident involving my lorry is coming....n i was rite on the money!

One word of advice: trust ur instincts!
another word of advice: dun drive when u just woke u for less then half an hour n in a rush!

Yet another mental note: Indians driving dark coloured vehicles somehow blends in wif the tarmac colour rendering them 'invisible'!

Wednesday, January 28, 2004

Ahhh!!!! Kanna conned into going to Sentosa for a "Wushu display"..... Never saw it, dunno why n din bother.

Was suppose to be at the musical fountain.....but it's ok at least I got into the island for free through my Islander card n got to see the fountain performance. Something that I last seen about 2 decades ago....Now they concerntrate more on laser effect(n a nonsensical CGI monkey named Kiki) rather than music/water coordination.

Practised more on my newly modded nunchucks, by shortening the link by means of a cable tie, n noticed that my left hand is unable to control the weapon. Ended up hitting myself countless times....ouch...lucky it's only pinewood....heh..

Today was no different CNY as the countless CNY before. Went to various Temples to pray in the morning followed by the usual relatives to visit.....but at least some interesting things to point out.

1) The Kuan Yin Temple at Si Ma Lu(Bugis) adopted a new "floodgate" crowd control system to curb the annual chaos. Only when the no of devotees in the temple cleared will the gates be opened to allow another fresh batch in. Kinda funny that the view of such a procedure kinda resembled Govt troops invading Shaolin Temple as depicted in various movies as they rush in! The incense held by each of the devotees looked like spears too, which further enhanced the over-dramatised image....where's a video camera when u need one? hah....

2) One of the frens I made during my physiotherapy sessions in NUH turned out to be one of my relative! Wah...wat are the chances?

3) My relative's pug trying desperately to play n hump my cousin's dog Nicole created quite a scene!!

Hmmm....the ang pows shrinking liao.....only managed to get slightly over 100....oh well better then none!

Wednesday, January 21, 2004

Ah...it's my turn to hit number 23 liao n two two days later it's CNY!! WoW! First time my birthday lies so near such an important date! Din have the habit of celebration but at least went for sushi wif my little ninjas. Had quite an enjoyable nite wif them crapping around.

REally THanx alot to Zuming, Huaying, Weiquan and Yie Hui for my cutesy present! Really unique!!! N quite a contrast from the matt black box from which it was concealed. Almost faintz when I opened it. Wif the pic of that mouthless feline staring back in my face...

Present's back view
Present's front view

ok Whale....u have just sparked off a "Hello Kitty War"!!!
Be forewarned......!!! HEHEhehHehe (sinister laff-ter)...........

Have been stuck analysing SPI's webpage until late into the night for the past few days.

Have always been a fanatic when it comes to the paranormal. Too bad there isn't a lucrative line of work in this field or even a course in PE (not physical education.....Paranomal Engineering!). Was even more excited when Ah Yong , our newly elected welfare from NUS wushu, claims to know one of the core members of SPI! Was tempted of clicking their "join us as core member" hyperlink but was slammed down by the pressures of real world commitments. Maybe next time if I got the extra time to spare once I got a real job.....yeah rite.... Must get rid of the poly lifestyle/attitude of 'see anything, join anything'. Hopefully this does not mean the end of my "Spirit of Onz-ness" policy.

Yesterday's training consisted mostly of sparring. N Victor's usual information overload after a sparring session...... Finally got the juniors to practise n actually try out the 2nd portion of the performance (after I showed a hint of temper...haiz..). But all is not lost yet...everything went well for that portion...only needs more practise on moves n procedures...lots of it.

Supposedly from last week's CCA Fiesta we should have at least four newbies coming to try out our CCA yesterday. But as things turned out, only one was able to make it. Well better than ziltch. The new member, by the name of Emily, was 'pulled' into our club by my xiao mei. A welcome addition of 'yin qi' to our predominant 'yang qi' environment. Quite a sweet girl too. Hopes this can improve the morale of the guys! HAH!

Friday, January 16, 2004

Went CCA fiesta in NP again today! Again? u ask.......
yeah again...yeah last time do so many times until siao liao.....but I still went....
Due tho the fact that I'm still the jobless bum so got lots of free time...n my juniors are in need of help....
This time the recruitment drive is held in the blk 72 exam hall, which was damn lame for a number of reasons....

1) The location says it all.....who the hell would make their way to blk 72 during lecture breaks? I wouldn't if I am still a student there. The previous location, opposite the atrium, was a perfect place! almost everyone passes that place during lunch(well...maybe not those mechanical ppl up the hill). The pt of a CCA fiesta at this time of the yr was to interest those who never join anything at the open house jun/july fiesta. Not very helpful about the location being secluded.

2) There's only one little pathethic banner at atrium(so i heard...din even notice) indicating the fiesta's presence.....nice job....which ever dumbass incharge of the publicity, be it from union or student affairs should be sent to the guillotine pronto.

Spent an entire afternoon walking around disturbing other clubs.... among my list of victims.....adventure ropes course, astronomy, wushu n lion dance, karate, christian fellowship, japanese tsubasha club, song composing club...etc.....
Everyone was doing the same....due to lack of visitors....(think only 10% of the NP population noes of the event.....n only 5% can find us!) it almost looked like an inter-CCA interaction fiesta instead wif all the individual club members going around out of boredom. Business was bad for all martial arts club wif the exception of Taekwondo as usual. Haiz.....Shows the Singaporean mentality.....going wif the flow........follow wat is most commonly heard of ....
Made a lots of acquaintances today through all the crapping....but it's not for me....I hate acquaintances...had enuf hi-bye frens liao..... it's more for the club.....it's always for the club......

N gonna wring someone's neck if he makes me wait unneccessarily for an hour again!!
Hope u are reading this leh Yuhua!! Dun need that wake up call issit? GGrrrrrrr......!!

Tuesday, January 13, 2004

Finally took the long overdued grading for black belt. Was not really a difficult grading since I was exempted alot of stuff due to my injury (n my experience) Not that I really want that status. Dun even think I would enjoy that responsibility of a black belt holder. Hope this advancement in martial status will not ostracize me from the juniors. But being victims of circumstances, as we all are nowadays, it's something that's bound to happen someday. Something which I wish to prolong as much as possible.

Oh well, might as well enjoy it n stop whining. ;P

After all, it's also something that I had vowed to accomplish since poly yr 1.
"To finish everything that I started"
Well there's no 'finish' or any ending to any Martial Arts discipline, but I did promise myself to at least attain black belt if I was to join any other martial arts after I left Taekwondo(at the measly rank of green tipped belt).

Overall a feeling of uneasy fulfillment........

Angelfire killed my account again....nice....
At least whale dun have to worry about too many ppl viewing his 'Ninja' exploits!

Went to the Ren Ci charity event at taman jurong today evening wif Peilei n her group of republic poly students. They were in charged of on-off the lights in the individual rooms in the abandoned HDB flat so the entire block would show the charity hotline number. Very well organised and lotsa fun too. Peilei was very amused at them shouting cheers in public......well she needs to know more of us poly students. Today did my part of an intruder(or nei guei in infernal affairs term) again! Was the only guy wearing NP student union polo t-shirt in a sea of RP students. Glad to stand out like a sore thumb again huh?

Saturday, January 10, 2004

Friday, January 09, 2004

heheh....finally got down to doing my nunchuckus. Even thought this pair is made from pinewood which is totally way too light but still...it's good enuf for practise. Spent the whole day at my father's tyre shop scraping, filing, sandpapering, screwing, sawing, lacquering(abit too thick n uneven though). Way more work to be done than my wushu qiang.

Well...the point is: nothing beats customising ur own weapon. Even if it looks damn ugly, handles like a Yamaha TZR....u'll still love it dunno why....maybe it's the effort, maybe it's the exclusivity......dun care...

Maybe that's why I always like to create my own stuff if possible

Thursday, January 08, 2004

Went IMM for the Shaolin Monk's wushu display today. Totally not up to standard! They were good no doubt but the things they performed could have been done by a good S'porean wushu practitioner. Think my high expectation must be cos too used to those wushu clips boi keeps showing me....
Thanx BB for keeping me company, hope the performance never stone u too much!

Ah.....finally finished my cover-letter......even though it's a lousy one.....

Now for the resume......wah lau eh......hope it gets me a job soon....

Friday, January 02, 2004

yep...it's time to have a change of title-head!!! ;P
Ok....now that I'm MR Tiew instead of 3rd Sergeant TIew......
It's time to go job hunting....but it can wait...at least until next week anyway(wif the economy still in the slumps n SARS resurfacing)....still not used to seeing my pink IC in my wallet instead of that disgusting green card.
Been busy for the past week....let's see wat can I recall doing...
here a brief recap:

Fri: Forgot liao!

Sat: Met Ninjado comm as early as nine plus at Queensway Mac. But meeting din start till ten plus(hellooo.....is there anyone out there who still values punctuality?). Monthly trip to Ubin cancelled cos of our poor Mr Brian's last minute arrow by his CO. Had a drive through Neo Tiew Rd(hey a road wif my surname!) at night n found that it's overrun wif foreign workers n fenced up liao. Sad. The so called one n only "ghost town" in S'pore is now so inaccessible.

Sun: Late for the trip to Sungei Buloh cos of me over-sleeping. Was so paiseh so decided to drive lorry n give Huaying n SPS frens a lift there. Was a interesting trip to the wild again. Saw plenty of birds, archer fishes, spiders weaving up ants(thanx to SPS ppl) giant mudskippers, crabs n huge monitor lizards. Took pics of them....including this one that walked on the pavement. Too bad...missed a good chance to pick one of them up for a picture! Will be back to someday...that's for sure!
Had a second discussion wif comm again in the evening....went my place to see martial arts videos....went dairy farm rd in search for the "haunted house"......creepy as hell........failed....went to the one at Hillview instead.....entered wif another group of ppl....will be back for the Dairy farm house another day....

Mon: forgot liao!

Tue:Met Jeffery, former president of Ngee Ann Nan Hua Pai club to catch up on things....heard about the conversion of the club to Ngee Ann Kungfu Club(the name ooze cheese...) Went ORD dinner at marina south wif my batch of ppl in NS n Captain Arthur. Also went KTV.....

Wed: Bought Shaoxiong's n Chiu Hsia's present at city link n bugis junction. Watched fireworks wif the wushu ppl at Marina bayfront. Went Royston's place to overnight....

Thurs: Went to have breakfast at a kopitiam at Killiney Rd.....met my juniors in the afternoon to bash n struggle our way into the super-inaccessible shrubland to the abandon building at dairy farm rd. Never had such fun for quite a long while liao! Wanted to post the pics we taken here but just in case we caught something "dirty" in those photos on our way through the shrubs n inside the abandoned building....

yeah...tomorrow will be the long awaited chalet...hope everyone enjoys the stay(n i get my $250 back soon! heh..)
