Micah Caedmon Davidson

Thats right folks, as most of you already know, our sweet baby boy was born 1 week ago! On June 18th, 2011 at 3:38am, Micah Caedmon Davidson came into this world. :) We are so proud and so in love with our little bundle of joy!

He measured 21 inches long and weighed 10 pounds and 14 ounces! This came as a surprise to us all! Even the doctors had no inclination he was going to be this big - everyone was guessing Micah would be similar to his brother's birth weight - 8 pounds, 2 ounces! At Micah's newborn check at the pediatrician's office, the nurse told us his "stats" - - 75% for head size, 93% for height, and 99% for weight! Way to go little buddy - that's an A+! ;)

God was truly testing my faith and trust in Him throughout this whole labor process. Nothing seemed to go as we planned - but it all turned out perfectly. So many times throughout the labor process, I felt God was asking me "Do you trust me?" When my water broke at 4am on Friday morning, followed by no contractions, I had no other option but to trust in Him. And when we made the decision to go to the hospital Friday afternoon because contractions still hadn't begun, (despite our desperately wanting to labor at home as long as possible), we chose to trust in Him. And all through the rest of the evening and night, as we labored at the hospital, we put our trust in God and are so glad we did. I'm so thankful that our God is trustworthy, and that God's plan is far better than ours. Our sweet, healthy baby boy Micah was born at 3:38am, on his due date! We are so blessed! This is one of the last pregnant pictures we took! We are about to leave our home and go on our way to the hospital... I am so thankful for the wonderful & loving support Andrew was to me during labor! I couldn't have done it without him!

Micah Caedmon Davidson is the most beautiful baby boy! What a precious treasure he is - we could just stare at him all day.

Our new family of four! Samuel was soooo excited to meet his baby brother! He came running in the hospital room with a huge smile on his face and could hardly hold back his excitement!

Who is like our God?

So, I'm not usually one to post pregnant tummy shots like these, but they were just too cute to pass up. I really do love being pregnant... and I'm going to miss it, for sure once Micah is born, but I am too excited to meet our little baby boy (and so is Andrew & Samuel!) that it doesn't matter that much. Feeling Micah move, roll, kick & hiccup inside me is just so magical and makes me ponder just how awesome our God is! Our God, who can create life like this! I love thinking that I've got a fully formed little baby boy inside me, just waiting inside - all nice & toasty warm - for his birthday to come so he can meet us. :) Who is like our God? What a wonderful meaning to Micah's name. Every time I think about our baby boy, I get overwhelmed by the meaning of our son's name - Micah - "Who is like God?" There are just 9 days until Micah's due date. I've had a feeling all along that he would be coming early though - just like his big brother did. I can't wait to find out what day God picked for his birthday! We love you baby Micah and can't wait to hold you in our arms!

Catching up...

So, not a lot of time has gone by... but a lot of things have been going on! This is just a little catch up post, to get you all up to date in the happenings of our life! No baby yet, but we are well on our way and more or less "ready!" I'm 38 1/2 weeks along, so really the baby can come any day now!

To start off, here is a picture of my 38 week tummy! We also started Samuel in some swim lessons. He is doing really great and has done 3 lessons so far... the first two were with mommy & the most recent one was with daddy - he had so much fun! Samuel also got his very first buzz haircut last weekend! He did really well and said that it tickled the whole time. :) Here are the before, during & after shots. Now he's all ready for the warm summer - and still sooo handsome! Over Memorial Day Weekend, we went camping with the Davidson family to San Clemente. Samuel was super excited, and loved every moment of it. He loved playing at the beach, and couldn't get enough of his cousins (actually his 2nd cousins, I believe?). :) They were running around, playing pretend, riding bikes, flying kites, and just about everything else. And then just this past Sunday the 5th, we celebrated my 31st birthday!!! It was a fun & relaxing day - just what I had hoped for! After church, we met up with some friends at the park for a bbq lunch, and then went out to dinner with family at the Fish Market. Thanks to everyone for all the sweet birthday wishes! :) The best was getting so many birthday kisses & hugs from my little guy! Okay, thats it for now! You are all caught up!
