Bead Soup Beads

Bead Soup Beads

Here are the beads from my Bead Soup partner Karen...

Love the colors in this stone focal

And these beads that Karen made from polymer clay and paper mache. Aren't they awesome?

And this beautiful clasp and button which have both inspired ideas the clasp for a necklace and the button for a bracelet.

And look at all the fabulous beads and so many...

Wait there's more...and then these seed beads (the picture is just a sample there are more of each) and the colors are just beautiful!

And three really cool shells...

And look what else! Karen sent beads to make corset beads which you can see finished on Karen's blog Baublicious

I can't wait to try making these!

Thank you so much Karen!

Bead Soup!

Bead Soup Blog Partner!

My partner for the Bead Soup Blog Party is, Karen from Skunk Hill Studios, our reveal date is August 25th. You can check out her beautiful work on her blog Baublicious. Karen does Free From Beading and has written a book Freeform Peyote Beading. I've put that on my list of got to have books! I am so happy to be matched with Karen and need to give a big Thank You to Lori the wonderful hostess of Bead Soup Blog Party. Those of you that know me know I love seed beads, though a lot of my beading has been practice, I have just recently been working on a few projects. The beginning of one is at the end of this post. I started a spiral rope on another project, then wondered what it would look like if I switched up the beads, below is what happened when I switched up the beads. I like the way it is turning out, I'll post a picture when the bracelet is complete.

I've been so inspired by Karen's work and the Beading Babes group I joined that I think it is safe to say you'll see a lot more seed beading here in the future!

I'm back...

It has been a while since I've been around. I am happy to be back and looking forward to Lori's Bead Soup Blog Party. I haven't had much of a chance in these past months to work on jewelry. I'm hoping to get back to that and post more of my work going forward. I figured if I was going to start participating again I better get something posted here for others to see, my banner and the picture below shows pretty well the type of jewelry I create.

Project 2

Beading Babes November

I began the Beading Babes Project 2 for November, you can check out Beading Babes by clicking here.

I started working on the Earthly Hues necklace by Carole Ohl shown in the Beadwork Aug/Sept 2010 issue. I chose a purple color scheme with Cherry Quartz Glass for the 12mm beads. I'll try and get clearer pictures for the finished necklace reveal. Thank you for visiting!

I Heart Macro

I Heart Macro Marbles

This is my first I Heart Macro and I chose to take photos of some marbles I have sitting in a dish in my studio. I was curious to see what colors would stand out, how the depth would show and how the light would reflect or absorb. I think they turned out fairly interesting.

Thank you for Visiting!

Welcome to Wisconsin!

A Visit From A Friend

Last week Therese from Therese's Treasures visited Wisconsin and we got together for an afternoon. If I used one word to describe what I thought of our get together I would say enlightening. You can read all about our visit at Therese's blog by clicking here. You can see the wonderful gifts she gave me which included an absolutely beautiful bracelet she made. Therese is truly a wonderful person and a good friend.

What I am going to talk about today is something I shared with her which was that I am going to redesign my blog. There are things I have been thinking about doing and have taken steps to do though I haven't shared them here yet and I would like to. I plan to continue making jewelry and participating in challenges and I also want to include my soap making and other things I enjoy doing, taking pictures, and visiting with friends.

So to get started I am going to go grab the I Heart Macro button and start taking pictures...come back on Sunday to see them.

Thank you for visiting!
