Thank You Prudence.
This hideous little doll named Prudence is a celebrity in our house. Chanel is obsessed with the doll, the book and OH the movie. Six months ago I tried to potty train Chanel when Reve was pretty new...bad news. After that experience I was ready to send her to potty boot camp and pay whatever price if it meant that she would come home a pro. Six months later and my wish was granted. I guess there is something to be said for waiting. 2 1/2 is a magic age.
Thank you Prudence.

Lee Family & Lake Powell
Jeff and I went to Powell without the kids and had so much fun. It was a trip of "first's" for me: first time to Powell, first time to have Jeffy all to myself without homework and first time I actually "got up" on a wake board! (I look intense, I know. First time and I'm focused.) I've heard Jeff talk about this trip since we first met, but I never realized what joy the trip brought him until I experienced it with him. He was like a child the first day. I've not seen him that happy in a LONG time. He even cried while driving home. Obviously Powell is his "happy place". I promised him we'd never go another summer without it.

UTAH BAR
TJ MAXX
So, as we began our journey back to Utah, mom stopped to get gas and while she was at it she took a squeegee (how do you spell that anyway?) to the front windshield. Chanel watched her carefully and began to get nervous (she hates anything that has to do with a car wash). She started to whimper and ask for daddy. She said, "I don't wike it mom. Take me home. I want daddy. Take me home! Take me to TJ MAXX."
In our prayer immediately following she also made mention of TJ Maxx.
...Apparently we have a common "happy place."

The Women in My Life
My life is incomplete without these two women. Of course, my own mother lights up my life daily with her optimism, faith, easy-going nature and unfeigned love. She is my hero, my foundation and I would do anything for her because that is the way she has always lived for me. My mother is my joy!
My life is also incomplete without my mother-in-law as she is the woman who raised the most important man in my life. He adores and respects her and in his love and admiration for her, I have developed my own deep appreciation for her and the woman she is. She loves deep and puts the needs of her children above her own. She always makes you feel as though you are the most important creature in her life and treats you as such. I love my mother's deeply and pay tribute to them both in my heart daily as I strive to be like them.

Unbelievable...
Recently I went to a 6:00am weight lifting class. The last five minutes I was totally beat...until...Jolie began the cool down. My life was forever changed. Michael Bolton: calming, passionate, and sooo soothing. I now have a full burned cd that sits permanently in disc changer #3 in my car. Makes any bad day good. Jeff agrees. Give it a try!

Our little Chanel has discovered her two's! I took this picture after I went to pick up Reve and was pleasantly surprised by the gloss that so gracefully traced his lips. When I asked Chanel if she'd been into mommy's make-up, she took one look at him and said, "He's a mess!" She is hilarious. Jeff and I find ourselves in disbelief at the funny things she puts together in her head. Just yesterday while driving we passed a controlled fire and as she looked out the window she said, "Yuck. Stinky clouds. Stinky diaper clouds, yuck!" Here are some of her other newest words and phrases:
-dangerous
-nice to meet you
-congratulations!
-"Hi son"
-Welcome today!
-Alpacas
-awesome
-careful darling
-trampoline
-I don't wike it anmore
-Pinkawithisth (Pinkalicious...her new favorite book).
-I hold you (please hold me)
-silly
"YUMMY CHOCOLATE"
She makes us smile. I love her!
