Whats on your workdesk Wednesday 97

Hi there, thanks for dropping by.  My desk is rather tidy today.  Had to do a big tidy up on Monday as I had lost sight of my desk altogether and couldn't find anything.

So what's on my workdesk? Well most of the printed digi stamps are from cs designs with the exception of one little Tiddly Ink.   There's also my copic colour chart, a bottle of glamour dust, a cup of ice cold milk and a lovely Easter card off my good friend Marion.
Whilst you are here having a good old nosey, go and click on my banner and the top post is all about an Easter blog hop/Babushka hunt where you can win some digi's like I have on my workdesk today.

Babushka card for Sweet Sketch Wednesday Challenge Blog

Afternoon everyone.  The sun has come out here and it's turned into a lovely day.
Today I am going to show a card I have made using cs designs image.  What's great is that they are on sale until 30th April, buy two get one free!!
The one I have used on this card is Pasha, she's number 5 of 7 adorable images.  You will struggle picking just 3, but don't say I didn't warn you!!
For some reason my camera went a bit loopy when I was taking my photos.  Although they are of the same card the colours has come out differently on each photo.  Suppose you get to see it in two different colour-ways.

I have used the following sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday :

Pasha was coloured with my copics and  then cut out.  She is mounted on one of Penny Duncan's Shaplies.
The yellow card has been given the distress treatment.  I used scattered straw.  The double dot paper is Bo Bunny and the ribbon was bought for me by my Mum near Christmas but I've struggled to use it was so nice but I thought it complimented my babushka perfectly.
The card is finished as usual with candi from craftwork cards.
I will have another Babuska card for you tomorrow.
Don't forget to check out the babushka hunt for your chance to win some if Chris's digi stamps.
If you are coming to this card straight from Sweet Sketch Wednesday then just click my banner and then you will see the details of the babushka hunt.
Hugs

Happy Birthday Dave (FIL)

Today is my Father-in-laws birthday.  He's 21 again.
His loves our holidays to Mexico so I decided to make him Mexican themed birthday cards this year.  Which may sound hard but Dustin Pike over at Doodle Dragon Studios has made some great Mariachi images.
I am in a rush to get to his house to give him the cards so please accept my apologies over a rather rushed blog post.

Here's the three band members :

I will now list each card separately and put which challenge they are entered in to.

The Sweet Shop : sketch Sweet Shop Sketches
Bugaboo : 4 or more layers Bugaboo
Doodle Dragon Studios - birthday card : Doodle Dragon Blog

Sketch Saturday - Sketch saturday
Bugaboo - 4 or more layers : Bugaboo

This image fits in the mexican theme as a pelican in Mexico took a disliking to my FIL.

Anything goes : Pearls coloured to match the mexican flag : Anything Goes

Pollycraft Challenge 87 :- Old or Neglected Stamps

Today is Steven's birthday or Lad as he's known in this house.  I've known Lad since working with his Mum about 12 years ago.
When I saw the challenge over at Pollycraft is to use an old or neglected stamp.  Well one of the first digi stamps I ever found was a freebie from Pollycraft called Beer Monster.
Anywho Mike went to pick Lad up from Liverpool airport as he was flying in to surprise his parents and so I took this quiet time to make a birthday card for Lad.
I have used the sketch for this weeks challenge over at Mojo Monday.
Here's the sketch:

Here's Lads card :

The beer monster had to be coloured in Manchester City colours of sky blue, so I coloured him with my copics, then used sakura stardust pens to do the wording on his t-shirt and his horns. I layered up another pint mug and covered it in glossy accents to make it look like a shiny glass.  I used sakura glaze pens on his eyes and his blue spots.
The sentiment was stamped in blue and then the word party was gone over in the blue sakura stardust pen.
The silver and blue surrounding the sentiment is done with the accent essentials cricut cartridge.
The backing paper is from my stash and doesn't have a name on it.  The blue colour core paper was embossed with my crafts too 5" swiss dots folder then distressed to reveal the lighter blue.
The scalloped border at the bottom is made from punching circles or the colour core and then cutting them in half.
The ribbon is from my stash and as usual I have used card candy to finish off the card.
This card is also being entered into the Bugaboo Challenge which is anything goes.
Thanks for dropping on by,
H xx

Tiddly Inks Friendship Card

I have had the following image coloured for quite a few days now but tonight has been my first chance to make it into a card.
I have used the following sketch from Sweet Shop Sketchers.  This was a lovely sketch to work with and I'm glad I found their blog this week.

And here is my card :

Sorry the photos a but squiffy but I was struggling for some good light to take the photo in.
This gorgeous image is from Tiddly Inks and is called Happy Q.  I have coloured her with copics and used Suzanne Deans tutorials to do her hair.  It was very hard work, took me a long time but I'm really pleased with how her hair turned out.  The image has a dotty border using sakura blue stardust pen.
The pearlised backing paper is by centura and the PP is by Bo Bunny called Gypsy lace, I have used both sides on this card.
The heart is wooden and I think I got it in an embellishment swap.  I have coated it and 2 card candy in turquoise ultra fine glitter.  That glitter has got everywhere and I now have a glittery dog or two.  Just an occupational hazard in this house.
The sentiment inside reads "Of all possessions a friend is the most precious" I thought this was just the right wording as her arms are open wide ready to give you a hug. Sorry I cant take a photo but the glue has not dried on the heart and the candi.
This card is also being entered into the Pollycraft Challenge, which has the theme of friendship.
I should have a challenge card for the pollycraft challenge next week using one of her images.  I have enough now as I bout around 20 this morning as she has a 50% off sale.  It ends today.

Lady's Scrapbook

Earlier this year we had to have our gorgeous yellow labrador Lady put to sleep.  She was 18 and had had a very full life.  She came to my wedding, witnessed the register being signed and then posing for photo's outside the church.  She was also on the front page of the local paper when the fire brigade were called to get her off the turret roof of a local "big house".  She also sometimes passed our chocolate lab around the field even thought she was 8 years older than him.  She was a very smiley dog and that shows in the photo on the front cover of her scrapbook.

Tomorrow morning we are going to walk our 3 monsters at Mum n Dads farm so we can give Mum Lady's scrapbook as her Mother's day gift.
I want to say a BIG thankyou to all those who donated dog related papers, ribbon and embellishments, without you this book would have been alot harder to put together,
Love N Hugs,

A challenge card from a little boy to his Great Gran

I was asked by my hubby's cousin if I could make a card for her new born little boy, Ethan, to give to his great grandma.
I used the following sketch :

Here is Ethan's card :

Sorry for the poor quality photograph, it's very gloomy and overcast today.
We thought this stamp from Lili of the valley was a good choice.  Its called The little things.
It has been coloured with my copics and a little bit of glitter was added to the flowers.
The PP was from Kanban I think.  The ribbon across the centre was from an embellishment swap I did last month.  The flower was made by my talented friend Marion.  And the sentiment was done on my PC.
This card is also being entered into the following challenges :-
Cute Card Thursday - cards that feature couples
and
Anything goes challenge - make your own embellishments

I just wanted to say a BIG thankyou to everyone who left me comments yesterday when I revealed I was part of the Fiskarettes design team.
Hugs
