My first time sitting in the information office in the zoo and I got bored after 5 minutes. Lol. I prefer walking around instead. All I have was this zoo map for me to study and I actually haven't been looking at the map for ages ever since I got so familiar with the zoo.
It's the zoo's 150th birthday. They had 50 painters to paint these 50 Mali sculptures. For your information, Mali was the first elephant born in the zoo. All 50 of them were placed all over the Melbourne city for several weeks before coming back to the zoo. There were people spent the whole day running around the city, trying to find all of them. I did find some of them also. Haha.
They are now back to the zoo and ready for auction. It's impossible for me to upload all 50 in this post although all of them are so creatively painted and unique, so here are some of them that attracted me. This one is so Malaysian with the hibiscus.
More of them.
This one has won the City Readers Choice Competition. It looks like two elephants are mourning for the deceased.
Another one that I like.
The trunk made of the tail of the tiger.
The Thai.
The Borneo side.
This one so colourful.
More of them.
I find this very cute with the elephant shoes, winter hat and trunk-warmer. Lol.
So there's a brief overview of the 50 Mali sculptures for the Melbourne Zoo's 150th birthday!
