Costco

Remember that 60 rolls of toilet paper that Min Dee bought back last time? I got 30 rolls from her and I'm not even half way through finishing them. The place where people can get all these stuff in bulk is called Costco! It is located at Docklands and you definitely need a car if you are going to buy things from there. It won't be possible to drag a bag of 60 toilet rolls on the ground and all the way back home. Pengsan.

Costco is like a warehouse where everything comes in bulk and cheap. Even the trolley is twice the size of a normal supermarket trolley.

There's also a giant cold storage room for cold food. It feels like you are walking into a giant refrigerator. Can't stay too long inside. So you have to quickly grab what you want and run back out. Lol.

Last time was 60 toilet rolls, now it's 20 soap bars! And it's only for $6 (~RM18)! Wahahaha..... Can last me 10 years. And I got a request from my friend saying: "Kim, no matter how old I am, no matter how old you are, I have your FB, you have my FB, please let me know when you finish using all these soaps." Haha! Now people don't need to ask me what soap I'm using for the next few years as my answer will be the same until the very last soap is gone. Lol.

Costco will be the best place to shop for daily goods when there's a big family. Don't talk about housewives, even young people like us love it too. Lol.

My room is so quiet now without these two making noises and keeping me company. They were the ones that kept me in super good mood and de-stressed for the past two weeks. See what they usually do to their castle. Lol.
Lonely......

Random #12

Don't know what's the problem with the headings of my previous layout, and I tried reinstalling it but failed, so might as well just change the whole layout and give my blog a new look. Hope this one is as good looking as the one before to everyone.

At the moment, nothing much is happening except reports and literature review. The weather is slowly getting cooler and it's been raining the whole week. The temperature is usually below 16 degree Celsius, which is most suitable for me to walk to and back from uni without suffering from heat stroke.

The ducks are hiding from the rain.

Bump into this random cute picture. So protective. =)

Cooking Updates

These are my summer/autumn cooking collections. First up is barley fu chok. Wasn't very nice though.

Next is peanut congee, second attempt. Smelled nice, looked nice, just a bit tasteless. But it's much more nicer than my first try. And it wasn't a right food to eat on a summer night. The more I eat the more I sweat. Swt.

Wraps are everywhere. So I tried to make one, and got addicted. My own wrap is almost twice the size of the wrap I buy outside as I tend to stuff more things inside. I can even charge it $8 if I want. Lol.

Japanese curry fish ball.

Seafood alfredo fettucine. Don't have to go all the way down to city to have one. =D

Mushroom salad with Goma dressing. Got the idea from a Korean restaurant the other day. This was just a simple one. I'm going to add more things into it the next time I make it.

And the latest cooking of mine is the tuna baked pasta. Almost the same as a pizza but inside is fettucine instead of bread. So nice! Wahahaha....
This only happens once in a blue moon when I have the mood to cook new food, and also considering that it's easy and fast to make. So many Western food, should move to the Asian side now. Next one most probably will be a type of 'tong sui'. Lol.

Arturo

Just recently, I have became the biggest fan of Arturo, the Brazilian tapir in the zoo. He is a new addition in the zoo. There used to be a Malayan tapir in here, but because it has got some eye problems, so it's always off display and so they sent it to another zoo. I am soooo glad that the zoo has brought in another tapir to fill the missing spot as tapir has a weird look that make me fall in love immediately when I first saw it. Although I have already known how tapir looks like through books and pictures, but never knew how ADORABLE it is until I saw it for real.

Arturo is very calm and blur looking, and he's very used to being with human ever since birth. So cute! Just like Shadow. Hehe...

Sooo adorably weird and cuteeee!!!! I can spend the whole afternoon at his place and telling people how cute he is. So want to bring him home. If I am to become a zookeeper, I would definitely be a tapir keeper! <3<3<3

Sofia

Went to an Italian restaurant called Sofia in Camberwell. The restaurant is huge and it looks packed from outside but actually there're still a lot of empty tables inside. Although the restaurant is super busy, but their service is still good and fast.

The calamari wasn't crispy enough for me though my friend liked it.

I forgot the name of this pasta. It's nice and super big considered that it's a small size.

Chicken and mushroom rissotto. I don't like rissotto but this rissotto is nice. This is also a small size and it's already like a mountain. Imagine their large size. Lol.

Almost every table, including Australian, needs to packed their food as everything is really big. It is also much more cheaper than most Italian restaurants too. Another place to have a nice Italian food with reasonable price.

Tough Chicks

Both me and May have joined a life and dance skills programme called Tough Chicks organised by Mayibuye. Mayibuye is a non-profit organisation with a vision to keep youth away from bad activities like drugs or crime, and other youth issues through dancing. This Tough Chicks programme is to empower young women through confidence building. So we will be talking about women in the modern society and also from different cultural background.

The first two days of the programme was held in the Multicultural Hub, which is just right opposite the Queen Victoria market. Free dance classes were the only motivation for me to wake up so early in the morning during holidays. Lol.

It ain't normal dance classes when you get a chance to dance with So You Think You Can Dance Australia Top 4 finalist, Demi Sorono! It's super cool to be able to meet with a B-girl who can do rumba like this on that dance stage.

Demi will be choreographing our dance routine for the Young Performers Conference which will take place in a month time. This is a video taken by me showing her B-girl moves. So yeng!
Of course we can't learn that in one month time. We are just doing simple hip hop moves. However, she has already taught us some moves that require us to go down on the knee on the first day. From that moment onwards I finally understand why dancers always put their knee guard on when it comes to floor movements.  @@"

I enjoyed a lot during that two days workshop with games and dancing eventhough my whole body is still aching. And Demi is so sporting and funny. My first dancing superstar met in real life. Keke... So looking forward to the coming practise sessions.

Random #11

It's Easter! That means it's time to take a break. This is PieFace in Northland. The pretty girl that I'm familiar with is not working there anymore. She always gives me free stuff because I used to be a regular customer. Sometimes free pie, sometimes free coffee, sometimes free cheesestick. She told me that she always has to bring back all the unsold food back home for dinner everyday. Lol.

Picture with a magnification of 200 000x, taken from an electron microscope that's worth half a million dollars. Life is so much easier with technologies like this. This is a bacteriophage that me and Min Dee isolated. It's a virus that infects bacteria. The lecturer likes this picture too because it's got two different viruses in one picture. The two dark hexagonal shapes there are the viruses. =)

My blood sample to test for Rubella antibody. It took me so long to be able to squeeze this drop of blood into the tube. That's why this drop was very precious. Results: I'm healthy. Lol.

Last week was creating our own virus model using plasticine. My group won all the prizes. Lol. A bit surprising because our model virus was quite normal and not very fancy compared to others. So we have got some Easter eggs!

Feeding Bun Bun! Hehe...

Bun Bun with Stitch.

More pictures of Bun Bun.

He looks 2 years younger in here.
That's for my updates. Happy Easter! =)

Cip Cip & Cup Cup

There are 2 extra guines pigs staying in my room for the next 2 weeks because the owner has went back to Indonesia for 2 weeks. Let's meet Cip Cip and Cup Cup (pronounced as chip chip and chup chup). Haha. This is my first time holding guinea pigs. They are soooo CUTEEE!!!

A closer look at them. Cip Cip is the black one and Cup Cup is the brown one. Besides running around and knocking their bowl and flip it over, all they do the whole day is just eating. I can listen to their cute 'krok krok' eating sound the whole day. Lol.

They also have a castle where they can hide. Sometimes, they can even flip the whole castle while running.

And sometimes..... they chew it. Lol. Poor castle.

At least I have some company in my room for the next 2 weeks. =D

21st

Had European food for my 21st celebration dinner. On the first night of my 21st, we had Italian food at Lygon Street as I've been craving for pasta. Bruchetta Italiana for entree.

Marinara fettucine. I want seafood! =D

On the second night of my 21st, we tried Viennese food. Mae May, a typical Malaysian who will hunt everywhere for nice food, helped me in searching what should we have. So she discovered this Viennese restaurant called Merchant on Collins Street. It is a very nice, classy dining place where decently-dressed people will dine in. I felt so undressed. Lol! By the way, the service provided by the waiters and waitresses is extremely good.

Complementary bread with olive oil.

May ordered duck ragu.

I didn't know what to order, so I just chose this grilled veal. I got a bit swt when I saw the portion. It looked a bit like fine dining. But it wasn't bad. The texture was just nice for me to bite comfortably.

And we didn't expect that the mashed potato would be this much. Lol. The mashed potato was very nice.

Merchant is not too expensive for this type of western food. It's much cheaper than most western restaurants.

Presents and keys for my 21st. Lol.
