It's been raining heavily plus thunderstorm this whole week. So lucky to have this kind of weather on my break. Don't need to worry about going out. This picture was taken at around 6pm and it looks very deceiving. The weather was much more terrible than how it looked in this picture. When I opened the door and the door immediately banged to the wall because of the strong wind. It's like winter outside. Swt.

Is that why I can find a snail in the bathroom? So cute.

The rain isn't bothering me much as I can stay indoor 24/7 for the whole week. Wahaha.. Can have nicer afternoon nap too. :)

Seoulia

Aiks... Have been slacking in updating my blog. Should have posted this up few days ago when I went for guiding in the zoo. My Shanghai friend, Gill, tagged along to the zoo as well. It was the first day of school holidays and I was soooo glad that the zoo wasn't very crowded. I'm so not good with small kids. Never know how to baby talk. @@"

After that, we went to Seoulia at Boxhill for dinner. It's a Korean BBQ buffet restaurant. It's my second time to Boxhill and I always feel like I'm in China whenever I come here. Lol.

Luckily we came early as most of the tables have been reserved. Wah...

There isn't many choices as I expected. Because I always think that buffet should have like a whole long row of food for you to grab. Here, there's only one type of beef and chicken, some kind of pig's organ, squids, some veges, pumpkin soup, miso soup and ice cream. So the row of food is so much shorter than I expected.

I ended up only grabbing the beef and kimchi the most because I don't eat pig's organ(yucks!), don't drink pumpkin soup, and the squid looked a bit jelak eventhough I love eating squids. Didn't plan to drink the miso soup but still had it because it was freezing cold that night.

After drinking the hot soup, then I had 2 scoops of ice cream and quickly ran back to the car. Haha. What a super cold night in Spring. Overall, I don't think I will come again since I have such limited choices. Don't know what so special about this restaurant. I can eat 3 plates of nasi lemak with that amount of money already. Argh!

Train-> Tram->Bus->Tram->Home

It's my first time guiding in the zoo on a Sunday. It's just my replacement for my previous guiding day. I usually do it on Saturdays as I prefer less crowds, plus, Sunday is meant for sleeping. Hehe.

A quite productive day I say. I had a very good elephants lesson from a senior who is very good at teaching me how to recognise the elephants. Now I am able to tell who is who. Yes! Finally! :D

Then I also had some birds lessons with another senior who has been guiding for the past 24 years. The birds are a bit more challenging as a lot of them has a name that does not sound like a bird name. @@" Like they don't have the words: "duck" or "dove" or "parrot" etc. Lets say I tell you that I will bring you to have a look at the tawny frogmouth. What will you guess that is?

Absolutely nothing to do with a frog. Anyway, it's a bird that looks like an owl but not an owl. I wonder who can be so creative to be able to come up with that name?? Swt.

The tram back to the city from the zoo wasn't working, so I had to take the train. After I reached the city, I change to the tram that will take me back home. Half way through my tram journey, I was forced to switch to a bus all because of some kind of festival was going on and they had to close the road. That bus was to replace the tram and travelled an alternative route. Then..... I had to change back to the tram again once it passed the festival. So swt! Within that 2 hours time, I took all 3 types of public transports just to get back home! Train, tram, bus, tram in 2 hours. So geng right....

Haven't been very motivated in cooking new food recently. That's why no posts on my cooking up till now since don't know when. Lol. So this is my latest cooking update. Nothing new about the noodles, but the beefballs. Those beefballs were handmade by me using 2 spoons. Haha. They looked a bit ugly and super time consuming. I don't think I will have the patience to roll it every week or every month. x.x

Back On Board

Since spring has arrived, it's also the time for the striped legless lizards to come out and see the sun. So fast, it's already been a year since I came to this place and lay the tiles on this grassland. Now I'm back to catch lizards.

Today is the training day for the striped legless lizard monitoring. The weather wasn't looking good plus there were so many people, so we had the training in the Vic Uni's lecture hall. It's like attending lecture. @@"

After free lunch, I didn't expect that they will also invite some snake handlers to give a demonstration. A few of the people from the Naturalist Society were trained by them before. Come to think of it, now only I realise I know quite a number of snake handlers. Lol. This is a long-necked turtle. So big.

Bearded dragon. Finally I got a chance to touch one as I always see these in pet shops but can't touch them. So excited to touch a dragon's skin. Hehe.

This is a goanna. So yeng.

This is a red-bellied black snake.

A brown snake. Although it's very venomous and fast, it's less likely to bite a human. Snakes only attack for food and for defence. People always mistaken that the snake is coming to bite them because it's moving so fast, but it's actually running away. Only inappropriate body movements that make them bite you because they feel threatened.

So many Australians specialise in reptiles behaviour. Is that a trend? Lol.

Random #4

Spring has arrived! Oh no... I don't want to sweat when I walk to uni! @@" Too much sweat glands. Grr... Very soon, I can see all the guai lou barbeque themselves under the sun all around uni again, and sometimes, can also see the guai po lying on the grass in their bikini. Lol. This kind of scene has got me very excited when I first saw it last year, but now it's nothing to be surprised of anymore. I already looked very kampung last year. Swt.

Not much happenings recently and I don't want to abandon my blog for too long. Might as well colour my blog with cute pictures again. :)

Fact #1:

A humming bird weighs less a gram and it's the smallest bird in the world. With such tiny body, its heart can beat 1260 times in a minute. The average human heart rate is only 72 beats per minute!

Fact #2:

Squirrels like to hide their nuts, and sometimes they cannot find the nuts back because they forget where did they hide the nuts. So cute!!

Fact #3:

The smartest pig in the world can memorise the multiplication table up to 12. Pigs can be as smart as a standard 3 student! :0

Fact #4:

There are only two types of dogs that have blue black tongue. They are the chow chow and shar pei.

Fact #5:

The shar pei wrinkly skin actually helps reduce its injury level when it is attacked by another dog or animal. Oooo.... now I know. xD

Haha...
