Growing Up..... Goldies

I have received some pictures from one of my dearest buddy back in Malaysia and they made me excited! Look at them!! Soooo CUTE!!

A total of 8 pups??!! How big was the belly??

Ahh!! I didn't get to play with these hyperactive puppies! :(

So how many dogs in total in the house? If include the goldie pups should be over 20 I guess? Lost count already. Lol! I super love the big dogs in her house especially her tibetan mastiffs. Yeng!! xD

Thanks SK for the cute pictures!! :D

The Aprilians

Finally, the time to dedicate this post has arrived! Don't worry, I didn't forget about it. Haha. Another two of my buddies got a year older this month. =D

Miss Ziin came into this world on the third day of the month. She has became my K kaki ever since our first outing during form 3. xD Hey miss Ziin! Grown up already! Time to go for beauty contest and be the next Miss Malaysia or maybe Miss World! Win with your natural mascara! Lol.

19th April: Miss Sow's turn to get another year older. I actually knew her through Ziin in tuition and then we became buddies in college. The one who is always late to class and enjoys making a grand entrance everyday. Lol. Ok, maybe 1% of the time she will sneek through the back door. Hehe.

Happy birthday to both of my buddies!! All the best and all your wishes come true!!

And how can I end a post without a picture?

So I will present a picture of the Aprilians: Miss Sow and Miss Ziin!

The photographer: Miss Loh. xD

Small Discoveries

Throughout the insects collection, I've also found other creatures that have been living around us the whole time just that their presence seems unsignificant. This spider was found in the backyard. Yes, it looks pretty scary. I need to say the creepy crawlies in Australia are so much bigger and scarier compared to those in Malaysia. It's fine if they are in the woodlands, but..... they are quite common in suburban areas too. @@"

Also, now only I know there are so many slugs in the backyard during nightime.

Wild kangaroo!! How I wish it can also be found in the backyard. This was taken in my uni's wildlife sanctuary. So cute!!

I saw the whole family there. A total of 5 kangaroos jumped pass right in front of me. It's so funny to hear 'dong dong dong' sound while searching for insects. Lol.

So we are not alone, no matter where we are. There is always a pair of eyes watching our movements. Haha.

Task Completed

Oh yeah! Finally, the due date arrived! Which also means I'm done with the insects collection. Woohoo~~ No more insects.

It was really my first time getting so close to insects. Everyday, they are hanging around us and we just walk past without realising their presence. After this project, I actually find that wasps are quite beautiful. Lol.

I didn't have the chance to catch this fella here. Or maybe it was just right under my nose when I was searching through the trees? Omg, if it's like that, I actually feel lucky for not able to see it. If not, it really can give me a heart attack and become my worst nightmare. @@"

Spot it? :p

A Joyful Letter

The past few days were a bit hectic and tiring both mentally and physically, all because of the tests and reports and also the troublesome insect collection that had given me a lot of exercise. Swt. Finally, now I can sit down here and update my lonely blog. :)

Today, I have received a letter from the zoo!! I am finally a member of the Zoos Victoria! Have been waiting to be part of them for ages, and now I have UNLIMITED and FREE entry to Melbourne Zoo, Healesville Sanctuary and Werribee Open Range Zoo!! =D

My membership card! I'm ready to spend 90% of my holidays looking at the animals. Haha. By the way, it's really stress relieving by looking at the carefree animals running around. Well, at least it works for me. Hehe.

A magazine/newsletter has came with the letter as well.

There are some articles that can help me kill my spare time for the coming easter holidays.

It also includes the news and events happened in Zoos Victoria.

I want to visit Healesville again!

And I would like to see how an open range zoo looks like. xD

In the envelope, there's a postage paid satchel for the recycle of old mobile phones. By recycling old mobile phones, we can save the gorillas' habitat because coltan, a metal used to make mobile phones, is mined in their habitat. So must remember, not only papers and glasses can be recycled, mobile phones can too!

All we need to do is just place the old mobile phone, with its battery separated, into this postage paid satchel, seal it and it's ready to be put into the mouth of the post box. :)

Lastly, the final item that I've found in the envelope is a huge poster of Maimunah, the orang utan, and her second baby, Dewi. Dewi was borned in last December. I wish I can have the chance to see the animals give birth in the zoo. Lol.

Although I'm still not a qualified volunteer yet, but SOON.... you can see me walking around the zoo guiding visitors and educating people about other living creatures that share the same planet with us.

Looking forward to the induction day! =)

R.I.P Insects

My room soon to become a graveyard for insects. Their undertaker will be me. Their murderer? Me as well. They used to be flying around the beautiful flowers, searching for food under the bright warm sun. Next second, they were being ambushed and trapped in the jar of death, where they started to struggle in finding their way out. Meanwhile, outside the jar, the assassin has locked her pair of eyes on the overturned insects and made sure there weren't any more twitching of any of the legs. Not long later, they ended up like this.......

Ok, this insects collection thing is not nice at all! Out of all the assignments I've done, this is the worst and the least enjoyable thing I have to do. I rather they provide me with a range of insects and do dissections than chasing after the insects in the public like a crazy person. Swt...

There's probably a feedback form given by the end of semester and I usually don't write anything. However, now I know what I should write in this subject feedback form when they give it to me. 'Please take away entomology from this subject and replace it with ornithology. At least students can go for beautiful bird watching instead of killing innocent and creepy insects.' Haha...

Lazy Friday Night

Another Friday night spent in this pretty room. Watched 'The Legend of Guardians' while enjoying dinner. The cute owls movie! Dinner from Domino's pizza. It's been ages since the last time I had pizza. Puff crust pizza is thin and crispy and make me not too full. :p

Just a typical lazy Friday night. Haha. I'm even lazy to write more.
