Octobabes

The month of October is also equals to the month of giving birth. I've just realised that many women like to get pregnant during new year and make the hospitals overflow with newborns by October. More than 10 of my friends were borned in October, some even on the same day. So I dedicate this post to my buddies back in Malaysia who have celebrated or going to celebrate their 19th anniversary on this earth.

First up, October 5th: Happy birthday to Shuk Kee!! She didn't like the people walking around when we were taking this picture, that's why she showed this expression. For those who have this picture, take some time to spot something different in this picture. Hehe.

20 days later, another pretty lady arrived. 25th October: Happy birthday to Mun Yi!! This is a priceless photo of her. What she saw and made her so surprise at that moment still remain as a mystery. LOL.

48 hours later, a singer was borned. 27th October: Happy birthday to Kah Yan!! The K queen. Lucky you don't have any silly photos with me, so I chose this pretty picture of you. Hehe.

Last but not least, another singer was borned on the last day of the month. 31st October: Happy birthday to Li Ling!! Borned to be Mariah Carey number 2. I've got another priceless photo of you with your natural octopus mouth but I chose not to put up here. Just keep it to myself. If not, I will get stranggled. =p

Here I wish all of you enjoy your day and all your wishes come true. Forgive me for not being able to sing birthday song to you all when you all are missing my voice. Hehehe... Once again, happy 19th birthday to my Octobabe buddies!! =D

Sontaya

On a nice Sunday evening, me and 5 of my housemates went to a Thai restaurant called Sontaya for a nice dinner. The restaurant is just 4 tram stops away.

Good that it wasn't too packed.

"Sontaya literally means sunset, but as with many words in Thailand, it has a deeper meaning that refers to experiences that form part of daily living. In the Thailand country side, as the sun sinks, the workers leave the rice fields and saunter back to their shelters to meet together with family and friends for drinks...."

We brought our own drink. Khush is a drinker, so she has a lot of wine. We brought along red and white wine. This time I went for white wine and it's a lot better than red wine as it's not bitter at all. All of us had wine except for Alyaa. She ordered 2 glasses of coke. Below is me with Alyaa.

Cheers!! Khush and Jessie (in the picture).

Appetizer. I've forgotten what's the name of this dish. The sauce was so nice!

Red Thai curry prawns shared among Khush and Jessie. Both of them kept on saying that it's hot, but it's not very spicy actually. Lol. So weird, Khush is an Indian who cannot eat spicy food.

Pri had vegetarian red thai curry.

Me and Alyaa shared the tomyam prawns. Awesome! I miss tomyam! The prawns were big and fresh.

Pad Thai. All of them know what was it except me. It's noodles with nuts, brocolli and prawns. More prawns! Hehe. I like the nuts! =D

Khush ordered banana fritters. She liked it with ice cream, but I just found it okay. I still prefer Malaysian banana fritters that we can get from the vans on the streets. More crunchy.

A warm day but cold night. We were freezing while waiting for the tram. Swt. Once again, my housemates appeared in my blog again. From left to right: Pri and Jessie (appeared in the tulip festival post), Khush (in previous post) and Alyaa (first appeared in the raya celebration post). This might refresh your memory. =p
Satisfied. Finally can enjoy a nice meal in a nice restaurant after don't know how long of eating my own cooking. Lol.

Good day, mate!

It was such a hot sunny day! Everyone has started to barbeque themselves under the sun. To experience the aussie way of life, I had lunch with 3 of my aussie friends on the grass and under a tree, not sun. Hehe.
Meaghan, Jess and Soph under the shade.

Eating chicken wrap while enjoying the uni's scenery.

We even spotted two bikini girls sunbathing. Have they came to the wrong 'beach'? @@"

After classes, me and Min Dee sat on the grass and chit chat for awhile. Yes, on the grass again. Lol. Of course it's under the shade. Here is another side of my uni.

I love the moat a lot. Any pictures will become awesome with the moat in them. The buildings opposite the moat are the residential colleges.

Min Dee the future vet! Lol... this picture does look like cut and paste. xD

Me relaxing on the grass, which is an impossible thing to do in Malaysia.

I've got a ticket to my housemate's graduation.

I can't make it to the ceremony. So I only went after the ceremony to take pictures with her and also with 3 other housemates. Here is Khush with her awesome gown. This place is actually a bar, Eagle Bar, where all the guests can have some light refreshments. It's my first time going into this bar. Khush offered us wine, but too bad I've wasted more than half glass of it. Red wine is too bitter for me and I can't go any further after several sips. Should go for champagne instead. Swt.

Now I can enjoy the fun of being a photographer again. A pose that everyone should do when they graduate.

This is my most favourite photo of all. Looked like a tree of knowledge shining the light of enlightenment on her. She has received the Masters in Business in Information Management and Systems (if I remember it correctly). Who was the photographer? Me!! Lol. Awesome sunshine. =D

Her graduation came with a miracle. When she was sitting in the hall during the ceremony, her bracelet dropped off. The bracelet was given by her grandma, so she adored it a lot. She didn't realise it was missing until when she was returning the gown. The people there asked for her seat number and they gave her this.
Khush: My name? Oh wait, this is mine!!
Person: Yes, it's yours!
"This was under this seat" was written on the paper and the bracelet was taped on it.
Angmo are so good!! They picked it up and asked everyone for seat number so that they can give it back to the owner!! Lucky girl Khush was so excited and went to buy a $80 La Trobe jumper and $5 La Trobe spoon. LOL.
Then, 5 of us (including me) ended the day by having dinner at McDonalds. It was a long, sunny day but full of fun! Chiaoz..

Random #2

Supposed to go for a wildflower bushwalking at Brisbane ranges with the Naturalist Society, but it got cancalled because of the bloody weather forecast. It was predicted that the weather for today will be windy with showers and possible hail. However, it turned out to be a quite cooling and sunny day. Juli, this activity's organiser, must be screwed now. I was so looking forward to the bushwalk too. =(

Come to think of it, the temperature has dropped and it's been raining for these past few days. Plus, it was a bit freezing with the wind blowing. The wind was the biggest nuisance of all. Grr... Umbrella also need to be gripped tightly, if not, it seriously can fly away and knock down some "lucky" people. Luckily, my housemate's small umbrella was very strong. It didn't go inside out despite of the stong wind. Phew... Maybe the umbrella is not made in China. =p

Since I can't blog about the bushwalk and didn't want my blog to be covered with dust and felt like putting my books away at the moment, this silly yet entertaining random post came into my mind.

This expression will be painted on my face the moment summer arrives.
That's why I said, farting is healthy. Should fart more. xD
A reason why crocodiles take a bite on human's ass.

The evolution of pugs.

Apply this formula and you can get promotions and be lazy as a pig at the same time. xD

A must-put sign in every zoo in the world!! Hehe.

Happens only if the bad guys have the patience to train ducks.

A curved yellow fruit a day keeps constipation away, and a round red fruit a day keeps the doctor away.

The role model of a cute puppy.

A killer tactic to get the answer "Ok".

I wish I can think outside all boxes.
When I can think out of the box, I can carry my hopes and fly towards my dreams. =)
Just found out that blogging has became one of my hobby and it's so relaxing, provided that I have things to blog about. How can some people blog everyday? Hmm...

Tesselaar Tulip Festival

It's spring!! Which also means it's time for tulips to bloom! So me and 2 of my housemates went to the tulips festival by public transport. First tram, then train and finally bus and the total time taken was 3 hours. @@" The busses were provided. They were already there waiting by the time we got down from the train. Felt like going on a holiday tour. Lol.
The busses went to and fro from the station to the place for the whole afternoon to pick up people and to fetch people back to the train station. That's convenient! Didn't have to find our way there ourselves. xD

Pri, one of my housemate from India. Just finished masters in biotech and she is seaching for job currently.

Tulips! I haven't seen a real tulip before. All I know it's shaped like a cup. @@" It's so colourful.
Photography time!

So hard to avoid taking tulips picture without someone bumping into it. Since it's weekend, there were a lot of families and couples came to the tulips festival.

Falling in love with photography. Taking pictures of the beautiful nature was so much fun and full of joy.

They decorated the place like in Holand. Even some of the workers there were wearing Dutch costumes.

Spot a gnome hiding.

A picture of my Vietnamese housemate taking pictures of the tulips. xD
People even brought along their four-legged man's-best-friend!
Not only angmo dogs came to join in the crowd, but asian dogs were kiasu too. xD

See what I found! A bee with a tulip!
And also a doggie with tulips! Looked like paparazi hunting down a doggie star. =D

The colourful tulips made us forgot about taking pictures of ourselves too. Too into taking close up pictures with the tulips. Here's me and my Vietnamese housemate, Jessie.
Me with Pri.

Pri and Jessie.

At the bottom of the hill. The weather was just nice without the sun. Cooling 19 degrees celcius.

More pictures of us. This is a pictures-more-than-words post. Me with pink and yellow tulips.
Pri with yellow and red tulips.
Jessie with pink, white and yellow tulips.

Trying to take a proffesional picture but not as nice as what I wanted. Can make this into poscards. Hehe.

Half way through, there were 2 people blowing pan pipes like Scottish people. Then all the people followed at the back to take pictures. Lol.

Tulips on sale.

After 3 hours of looking at tulips, we went back. Passed by the city and so went to San Churros for a hot chocolate. It's famous for their chocolates. The chocolate cakes were so tempting! Here's the Spanish hot chocolate. It was so thick until I felt like drinking a creamy mushroom soup. @@" Can't drink this too many times. Feel jelak.
And there goes my Saturday. Need to give my legs some rest. Hehe.
