Now that the exams are over and my first semester in uni has come to an end, I'm back to blogging! My last paper which was Animal Systems didn't have multiple choice questions, so there were nothing for me to shoot during the exam.@@
It's normal for students to forget all the stuffs they've learnt right after the invigilator said "writing shall cease now". Then they will fly out of the examination hall with their minds flying even further away to their whatever coming-up holiday plans.
However, this was my first time truely enjoyed what I was studying, without any complaints, after 12 years of schooling. Although agriculture is not my type, I hope I can still remember most of the things in this subject and not just for the sake of exams. Well, at least I there's one thing that I will remember forever: horses will not walk and graze near dung!! Lol... They are fussy as well. Just like don't give small kids vanilla ice cream when they want strawberry ice cream. That's why horse pasture is harder to manage. Didn't know horses are that smart. =p
As I mentioned before, I adored the animal behaviour module the most and also the lecturer too. I admired his efforts in making interesting slides with all the cute and funny animal video clips. Some good IT skills he has.
Okay, so for the animal behaviour section, we were required to answer 10 short questions and 2 out of 8 long questions. The problem I had was deciding which one to choose because I wanted to write 3 of them. @@" One was altruism in vampire bats, one was sperm wars and another one was sexual selection in fairy wrens. In the end, I ditched sperm wars although that one was super interesting. =( But if any of you are fascinated and want to know what sperm wars about, I'm more than happy to tell the whole story and I'm sure you will put a surprise-looking on your face. Anything can be possible in this bizarre world. xD
Just sharing some interesting facts. This is a male fairy wren. In order to find a girlfriend, it will change from this look.......

....to this handsome look.

Why? Because unlike lions, male fairy wrens don't fight for females and it's up to the females to choose their boyfriends. So the guys have to impress the girls by doing some "facial surgeries". All they need is just their testoterones to become handsome. However, too much testorones will weaken their immunity and more prone to parasites which can also scare the females away. So, only those with good genes with stonger immunity can afford more testoterones and moult earlier and get a wife earlier. Sounds like Animal Planet? I wish.... Lol...
By the way, I've got an 8 out of 10 for my penguins behaviour report and guess what are the penguins saying?

"Yay!!"
