My Shanghai friend, Gill, told me about this organisation weeks ago. It has a gathering on every Friday night. I wanted to go last Friday but I ended up working on my summaries, especially referencing (took me ages to find the names of the authors in those bloody websites) >=(
So this time I told myself to go! You might wonder why I was so enthusiastic. FREE dinner! That's what me and Gill were aiming for. Haha... It's held at someone's house. They have pastas, rice, curry beef, veges, garlic bread... didn't take many photos, paiseh.
Quite a lot of people and 90% of them are asians. After dinner, then listened their singing and some speeches. I didn't know that new people like me have to stand up and introduce ourselves. @@ Then, they seperated catogories for non-Christian, Christian, english speaking and mandarin speaking. I followed Gill to the english speaking non-Christian group for the small discussion.
Mat salleh here are special because they can speak fluent mandarin!! @@".. I was stunned for a while. I talked to a lot of people. Mostly came from countries like Malaysia, Singapore, China, Japan, Korea and Hong Kong. So many new friends and over 30 new names introduced at the same time, by now, I can barely remember 10 names. All of them are either La Trobe students or ex-students. It wasn't bad. At least I can still laughed at some lame Malaysian jokes. Lol... People here are so funny and so easy to get along with as if we already knew each other for some time. After that, got supper somemore. I had lammington (Australian cake) and I actually missed it since the last time I ate it which was few years ago.
Gill: "Come eat supper." (Eating her chocolate)
Me: "Eat already."
Gill: "Still got." (Took another one)
Me: "LOL"
Proves that she goes there got 'yam mao' wan. Lol...
Now I don't have to cook on Fridays anymore. Haha... Try to take more photos next time.
