New view

Ever since we moved into our home 3+ years ago, we knew we wanted to redo our porch for multiple reasons, including: it was falling apart, our gutter downspout had no place to go except right on top of it, animals were living under it, and let's not even talk about how "attractive" our logs were.  It's done now!  And it's still hard to believe it's so.  I used to cringe every time I'd drive up to our home and want to hide somewhere so no one would know I was the one responsible for the unkept yard.  I don't have to cringe anymore!

Day 1 - they went to town ripping up concrete... we were glued to the windows.
We had a concrete graveyard at the end of the day.
Smoothing out the steps after pouring the new concrete.
We took out a few boulders in this section and added steps up to our law.  They're so fun to use.  I can't wait for all the ground cover to fill in all the crevices.
Our porch is so inviting and classy now.  I'm sooo happy we decided to do it!

A little Liberty Park action

Grandma Nan and Michelle mentioned a few times how fun it would be to take the kids to Liberty Park, so we went recently.  Sweet Grandma loved taking the kids on the rides.

We really wanted to let the kids play in the water, however, the area that has all the "rivers" and "The Great Salt Lake" was closed for cleaning.  Apparently they close it every Tuesday for cleaning (Mothers be warned).  Anyway, Michelle said we could let them play in the other water area.  I had no idea there was another one.  Sure enough, there it was by the playground.  As you can see, the kids loved it.

Favorite Shots

I have an amazing friend who recently took a photography class, so I asked her about it.  It turns out it sparked my interest enough to take the class too.  I'm sooooo happy I did because I learned a lot and my pictures have definitely improved.  Here are a couple of favorites.

Roy Days

We took in Roy Days last Saturday.  We started with the breakfast put on by Brock and his awesome girls basketball team, then headed for the parade where we saw Papa John's Stake Float and got a ton of candy.  Then we went to the park and let Alex ride some rides and ended up at Jodie's house for swimming and good food.

This is the Place Heritage Park

Aunt Jenny is working at "This is the Place Heritage Park" again this summer.  We took the opportunity to spend the day there with the kids and see her.

Just for fun:  Tammy actually worked there a few years ago so I dug this photo out of her in the drugstore.

Waiting our turn for the train.

This train looked so awesome riding along the little lake.
Here's Jenny with Nancy in front of the schoolhouse where she was working for the day.  Great job Jenny!  You're a great teacher!
