We visited with some of Trudy's friends and they invited us to visit their cabin outside of Heber City. As you can see from the above pictures, this wasn't a little two roomer. It has 5 bedrooms with a master bedroom and 4 rooms with a double bed and bunk bed in each. They had their family of 27 stay for Christmas and their was comfortable room for all. It was fun.

I visited Grandma Anderson for her birthday and had a great time. Grandpa took me to the graveyard where they have their reserved spaces . Above you can see an example. Mary and Rand have lost a lot of weight and look great and Emmalyn is growing up fast.
On the way back from lunch one day, I happened upon this 4 car pileup. Pretty awesome!
I have been called to be the 1st assistant to the High Priest Group in our ward, so the beard stays, but I have been busy. This Sunday I was at church and meetings from 9AM to 4PM without a break. Whew!
I am having fun with my scuba class and hopefully will be able to take pictures on my dives in June.
WE had training on the new familysearch program from the church. All the kids and the grandkids are in the system, so you have my ancestors for your reference.
Hopefully, I can be more consistent with this blog

Jan Update

Well, I have been a bit of a slacker, so a lot has happened. I got a job, mostly everyone knows that. I got released from the bishopric. They combined two wards, so our new combined ward is the Hillsdale ward. Everyone was released and the reorganization is slowly happening. Trudy got called as Gospel Doctrine teacher today, and I have yet to be called. I started growing the beard again, so we will see how long it lasts. Here are a few impressions:

I went to the doctor (because I have insurance again) and was really impressed with the hanging glass flower arrangements in the middle of the foyer. Pretty impressive, huh?

My work has been going through quite a personnel change, so we had a meeting at Monterey and got to eat dinner at the Monterrey Bay Aquarium. Before that, we got to have portions of the aquarium to ourselves before eating next to one of the big tanks. I got to see otters and jellyfish. I couldn't get a real good picture of the sunfish in the tank, one of the ugliest fishes alive.

Several months ago, Trudy and I went to Point Bonita, a lighthouse just north of the Golden Gate Bridge. There was an amateur photographer that took some pictures and shared with us. This tour was a special event at dusk, so there were some beautiful scenes:

My phone camera decided to not cooperate, so this is just text. Trudy and I went to the BodyWorks2 display where they inject the tissue with some kind of plastic stuf and then pose and expand the bodies so you can see the anatomy. I first saw it in Chicago with Tom, but wanted to see it again. If you are not in the medical field, I think it would be fascinating, but doctors and nurses probably have seen it all. I was most fascinated with the development of a fetus and seeing normal, smoker's, and coal miner's lungs.
The big new is this was my first week of work. YAHOO!!!! My boss was not there and they are downsizing, so there is a little confusion. I am going to training and I am a little rusty, but keeping my own.
I was the emcee at the Mutual Halloween party. Couldn't wear a mask, so I put a mask on a hat and put it on my head. There was a spider coming out of the eye. See, pictures make the difference. Oh well, next time.

This week has been quite exciting. First of all I received a verbal job offer from Teradyne as an applications engineer. It will be nice to be working after a 6 month respite. Trudy and I went to the temple on Saturday and after that we went to the park at Merritt Lake in Oakland. Inside the park was a bonsai exhibit. It was very nice. One of the Bonsai trees was presented to President Abraham Lincoln in 1863. That is the one that Trudy is sitting next to. The technique and variety of the trees was very impressive!!
