 Our Mansfield Thiots

This weekend is Stake Conference in the Arlington Texas Stake.  When we heard that the Stake Sunday School President had been invited to speak, we wanted to be there to listen.  But the weekend was the one where Dick would be in New Orleans.  Ricky was able to share the ZOOM link so we could watch it where ever we were.  What a blessing to many of us who got to watch it all over the country.  Ricky spoke about how we can all help to Strengthen the Rising Generation.  Ricky is a great speaker and brought such a sweet spirit that continued for the whole meeting.  He told about sharing that he was speaking in Conference with his boss and how great the Come, Follow Me program for studying the Gospel at home with our families.  I'm so glad that Skyler was able to show it on our TV and we could watch it together.  Such a great night.  Afterwards it was time for BYU to play football with Wyoming.  I was too tired to watch, but when I woke up at 3:30 this morning, BYU TV was playing it over again.  I loved watching the fast version of the game.  Go BYU!

Our Medford Granges

When the new Highlights magazine arrived this week, there was the funnest idea to make Monster Pals with empty toilet paper rolls.
What a very fun activity this was to do for an early release day.  Everyone loved making them.
Such very creative monster makers are the Granges.
So very very fun!

Penny made one too but was busy practicing the Violin during the photo shoot.  Yes, Miss Penny was invited to join the 6th Grade Orchestra at school.  She's loving it!

Our Folsom Thiots

This was the first week of Callum's sixth grade Cross Country race.  He was a great runner and did a great job.
He made the school Newsletter on Friday!  Run Callum Run!
The Group National Parks was in town and the Folsom Thiots hoped on the train and headed to the concert.
Stacy told them to watch for her Cousin who is part of the band.

They were thrilled to find him after the concert and got a picture with Brady!  Exciting Times!

Our Orem Thiots

I love this picture of the Orem Thiot's home with their orange glow Halloween lights on.  If you look closely, you can see Adelaide Elizabeth in a perfect handstand on the front sidewalk.  Pierce always loved Christmas light and always said, when he grew up and had his own home, that he would have the best lights on the street.  I do believe his wishes came true.  Go PJ GO!!!! Stacy's mama came to town while Pierce had to take a business trip to Chicago this week. Mama's take the best care of us.

Our Upstairs Thiots

Last Sunday, Kamila came over to play after her naptime.  Elinor was thrilled to have her come play.
She set up everything in the family room so she could play with all of her favorite things.
She loves the giraffe and loves to play on the big triangle quilt.
Elie loved playing with the lincoln logs after Kamila had to go home.
Sky and Elie loved doing some experiments with Mentos and Diet coke.  Quite a BLAST!

Tatia sent a fun puzzle for with mermaids and GLITTER, two of Elinors favorite things!  We love Elinor Weekends!

Skyler and Elie have a friend named Jeff who is a waiter at the Waffle House.  Jeff is one of the kindest and nicest people on the planet.  He has been very sick this past week and when Sky and Elie heard, they went right to work making get well cards and made him a muffin and went to the hospital to visit Jeff.  I'm happy to report that he has gone home from the hospital.  He is doing better but still needs some surgery.  He's been in our thoughts and prayers this week.  Sky has been great to visit him and help him feel loved.

We Plano Thiots

I was luck enough to watch Kamila for an hour this week.  She is so fun.  We went and visited a couple of my neighbors who love babies too.
I loved getting this photo of Dick in New Orleans playing golf.  He is on a business trip this week and I'm so glad with all the stressful times, he can squeeze in some golf.  That makes him happy and me too!
We have a new great Nephew this week.  Meet Zachary Aaron Cline, baby Zac belongs to Jordan and Jamie and makes four little ones for them.  We are so happy he is here and doing well.

I love that Zac's initials spell ZAC.  Zachary Aaron Cline

I'm getting excited for General Conference and we loved making Conference fun packs for our primary children.
We traded Sister Carr this week for two new sisters.  What fun it's going to be to have a trio of Missionaries again.  I love them.
At the family history center this week we noticed how much Aunt Ruby and Grandma Birks look alike. Ann Marie Pickelsheimer taught me how to compare photos to identity them.  So fun!
Sister Povar serves at the temple with me on Friday mornings.  We call ourselves the Temple twins since we have matching temple dresses.  I couldn't resist taking our picture together.  She has been home from her mission in Germany having her ACL repaired and is now ready to go back to finish her mission.  I will miss her.

I hope you've had a great week.  Know that you are loved and thought of often.  SLY Robynn

 Our Mansfield Thiots

My Dad's birthday was this week.  I love the tradition of the Mansfield Thiots who love to commemorate his birthday by making his famous strawberry milkshakes like he taught them to make.  I love this picture they took together on that fun night when he taught them the magic of making milkshakes.  Plenty of icecream and strawberries and some milk along with a dribble of vanilla.  YUM!

Our Medford Granges

Jake took Penny and Simon on a special field trip on Friday to Mt Lawson.  There was an active volcano there not too many years ago and it was a place Jake had gone with his dad and wanted to take his kids.
Penny was studying about volcanos in school and Simon begged to go along and how can you say no to that cute boy.  He LOVES camping and they had such a fun time together.

Tatia took these four to Burger King and had fun sharing memories about Grandpa with them.  They had a great time together too.

Our Folsom Thiots

The City of Folsom participated in the world wide service project.  Charlie and Jen and Ewan signed up to help this sister with her yard which was a tiny bit over grown.  They loved serving with her and Ewan was thrilled to be treated to an ice cream treat as payment. From Jen: "It was such an amazing day!! Ewan really felt the spirit of volunteering which was the best part. Charlie showed up as my biggest fan to the opening ceremonies and then he had the truck loaded up with all of his yard equipment and he ended up using all of it. I wish We had taken before and after pictures of what we did to clean up this woman’s yard. The church sponsored food drive passed out 30000 bags and collected tons of food and then during the event the city completed 80 other service projects"
I love this picture of Ricky, Pierce and Charlie with Grandpa's Chevelle.  He was taking the big boys to the BYU Football game and these guys were mighty thrilled. What a fun memory for Grandpa's birthday.
Who would have imagined in only a weeks time, you would be wearirng a hoodie in Sacramento after the 118 degree temps just a week ago.  You two look so happy when you are together.  Makes me smile.

Our Orem Thiots

Grandpa Great was a great pizza lover too and these two loved celebrating his 94th Birthday with Pizza.  I LOVE you right to PIZZA, I can almost hear Grandpa Great saying to them!

Look carefully and you will see the bones of Adelaide and Jackson!  I love their new boo-tiful jammies.  When Graypa and I were talking with them last weekend, they scooted outside for a minute in the sunshine and then into the pantry where it's pitch black and showed us how their bones could glow.  I LOVE those jammies and wished I had a pair too!  So fun!

Our Upstairs Thiots

Skyler shared this photo on Dad's birthday.  He said how glad he was that Elinor got to meet Grandpa Great before he returned to heaven.  I love the expression on Elie's face looking at Grandpa like she wanted to study hsi face so she would never forget it.  I'm so thankful for pictures that help us remember special memories.

Elinor had strep throat this week and was home from school for a couple of days so Sky didn't get to have thier daddy day on Wednesday.  We are so glad she is feeling better and was able to come this weekend.  How we love her.  She helped us set up the chairs for Primary last night and LOVED using the microphone to teach us a lesson about windmills.  She drew on the chalk board and entertained a lesson and allowed questions IF you raised your hand and didn't speak without being called upon.  She's had some great teaching training in Kindergarten we can tell.

We Plano Thiots

This picture was taken at Dad's 89th Birthday party that was his last one he was able to attend.  We had a tail gate party at the park and served breakfast at Bear Park in Sandy, Utah.  We had lots of us there to celebrate with him.  How we miss you Dad!

We drove through Burger King on Dad's birthday and loved getting to enjoy a whopper like he loved.
Dick decided for Dad's birthday that he would trade in his car for a newer model.  Dad LOVED to buy cars and Dick thought it was a great way to celebrate and remember dad.
Saturday was our Stake Preparedness fair.  Dick was in charge of the Ham Radio Emergency communication Table.  We loved when Cathy and Jacob Taylor came to the fair and visited Dick's booth.

This photo was taken before he had all his snazzy radios and sign up sheets there.  He got many folks signed up for classes.  I love these snappy posters Skyler helped design.  It was a family project for sure. What a great week it's been.  I hope yours has been good too.  Sure love you, Robynn

September is Here!

 Our Mansfield Thiots

Last Sunday was our Becky's birthday.  Unfortunately,  Ricky had tested positive for Covid after returning from his weeks travels. So birthday celebrations had to  be postponed until the Covid Test came back negative.

So this weekend was the long awaited 1982 Becky Birthday Celebration with friends.  My goodness, they sure  make the 80's look good!

Keeping with the 80's theme, the Stake had their Annual Daddy  Daughter  Date and Ricky got to take his three darling daughters for a very fun night.
Brooklyn makes one darling 80's gal and I love her blue eyeshadow!
Harper had a great time dressing up  too and was amazing
As was Addison.  What fun they had getting ready to go.
Hula Hoops and dancing the night away made for a great time.
I'm so  glad Ricky's Covid was quick and that nobody else caught it.  He was great at quarentining in his office for the week!

Our Medford Granges

Gracie and Simon are finally feeling better after having crummy summer colds.  They  are a bit lonesome with the big kids all going off to school.  Tatia had a bunch of errands to run and when I showed her the darling Encanto toy Miss Elie had gotten, she  took the babies to find one too.
Walmart had just what they were wishing for and oh what fun they have had with those 12 little Encanto family people.

Tatia celebrated her birthday on Sept. 1st by baking 6 pies and inviting her friends to come share them. What yummy pies Tatia and Penny can  bake.
Tatia is preparing for her Stake Primary's big event for the year.  Each of the Activity Day Primary aged children 8 and up are invited to come learn more about missionary work.  It's called Called to Serve and they  will all get a pretend mission call and get to learn about the people, culture, foods of many different possible places to serve missions.  Tatia is making a cook book with simple recipes of the foods they will get to sample.  She had 103 other things to do and is finding her two two year old's to be quite  the good helpers.

Our Folsom Thiots

Keelie and her friend had a fun afternoon when they went "thrifting"  to a fun thrift store.  It's become a very popular way to shop for clothing and they had a really good time.  It looks like they  found some yummy treats close by too.
This week the temperatures have been absolutely crazy in Sacramento.  They have reached as high as 117 degrees and with fires burning HOT in the area, the skies are now filled with smoke and not too healthy to breath.
Charlie said the fires jumped over the river bringing it a bit closer to home than they  would like.  Lots of prayers heading their way.  What a crazy time this is to live in the last days.  Stay safe Folsom Thiots. We are looking forward to Tuesday when Lilly will celebrate her 17th Birthday.  Happy Birthday Lilly!

Our Orem Thiots

Labor Day was spent at Lagoon, the amazing amusement park north of Salt Lake City.  It was their first time to go and they all loved the roller coasters and rides and corn on the cob bathed in butter.  YUM!
Soccer Season has begun again and both Jackson and Adelaide are loving it.  I Love that Mister Squirrel also gets to attend the games and is learning some sweet soccer skills too.
The weather in Utah has been unseasonably hot too for September.  Let's hope it cools down a bit soon.  100+ is even hotter than Texas but not as hot as California.

Adelaide and Jackson are taking rock climbing lessons.  Oh what fun.  SCARY BUSINESS YOU TWO! Jackson had a big moment on Sunday afternoon.  He lost his first tooth!!!!! Congratulations Jackson!

Our Upstairs Thiots

August 31st was Skyler's birthday and the Rangers were playing the Houston Astros in the afternoon.  We headed to the ballpark.  Dick snagged some great seats and it was dollar hot dog day.  Talk about a great day.  We got to leave early to go pick up Elinor from Kindergarten and then we headed to the Reunion Tower to go up in the tower to the GeO Deck.
Elinor loved that her ticket was purple.  That's her best!
It was windy up there and we loved watching the rain storms blowing in across the metroplex

What a beautiful view.  We've been wanting to go there for a while and it seemed perfect for Skyler's birthday!

Last Sunday afternoon, Elinor was in the mood to make an invention.  She took a piece of paper and made a sketch of a car she wanted to invent.

The sketch may be upside down, oops sorry.  Elie and Sky went out to the garage to find the supplies and what a car they built together.  Elie loved being pushed by the Swiffer and her daddy.  They had so much fun together.  When Graypa and I got home, we loved seeing it.  Way to go you two inventors! Skyler got some sad news this morning that one of his good friends had passed away.  He was diagnosed with cancer 15  months ago and fought hard but that mean old cancer won and Jon was taken back to heaven.  His wife wrote the sweetest things about him.  I've never met him but felt like I new and loved him too after reading what she wrote.  He left a darling little 4 year old Jackson behind.

We Plano Thiots

On Thursday, Skyler texted me telling me that Queen Elizabeth II had passed away.  I love this photo of her and have loved learning more about her this week.  What a great example she is for us all.  She accomplished much in her 70 years as the Queen of England. I love her hat and her pearls and that perfect bound button hole on her jacket.  You will be missed.  I loved listening to the sweet words that her son said about her after her passing.

Today is Grandparents Day.  I got this sweet text message from Brooklyn, the girl who made me a grandparent, wishing me a Happy Grandparents Day. I loved it.  I love each grandchild of mine.

My friends daughter is getting married next Saturday and we've been making bread soup bowls for her to serve soup in at the wedding.  My house has been smelling like homemade bread all week.  Not a bad smell at all.
One of my temple friends is leaving for a mission in the Philippines to be the medical missionary there.  I embroidered her name on a hankie to give her. It's sure fun to do.
I'm loving my sunflowers to bring a bit of fall inside.

Some friends and I went to pack Manna Packs to send to the Ukraine to help feed hungry people.  I love getting to do that.  So fun! We loved wearing the snazzy hair nets.

With all Ricky's 80's celebration this week.  This is the Thiot family in 1989  Pretty cute group! I hope you've had a great week and you know how loved you are. SLY Robynn
