 Our Mansfield Thiots

There is a magical pumpkin patch located in Midlothian Texas.  Ricky's family had the funnest day there on Saturday.  Ricky spent the week in St Louis for work and was so glad when he finally made it home Saturday morning after his flight was delayed.  Fortunately it was a mechanical problem and so they paid for a hotel room and dinner.  It was a long week and he was so glad to see his girls that they headed to Shadow Creek for a together day.  I loved, Loved all the photos from their adventure.  I'm hoping next year we can go along for the fun day.  I loved at trunk or treat Harper discovered two of her friends had the same costumes.  They loved posing for this phot of three Cruellas.  Miss Harper, you are  my fave!

Our Medford Granges

This has been a rough week in Medford.  Tatia has had kidney stones and a kidney infection which have made for a miserable week for her.  I'm so grateful that she has good friends and a wonderful husband who have helped her survive.  Thank you all who have prayed for her.  She said she has truly felt the strength of your prayers.  My sister Laurie said how blessed Tatia is to have good friends and then she said it's because Tatia IS a good friend.  She is right.  I've seen several miracles this week.  One was good friends, another a husband that could get her into a doctor quickly and another that Tatia had halloween all planned a month ago, costumes ready and pumpkins bought.  It truly was a miracle that she could be down all week and still have a very successful holiday for her sweet family.  Saturday afternoon was my favorite miracle.  Look out this window and see that gorgeous rainbow.  Truly Heavenly Father is aware of us in good times and hard times.  I'm so glad he sent a rainbow to bless their hearts to feel his love.  Sometimes we may think He has forgotten us, but He has NOT.

Our Folsom Thiots

Liam and Ewan are visiting Lilly and their dad this Halloween Weekend.  So numbers were few but the fun was had.  A trip to the zoo and some bike riding including some wheelie popping and lunch out before Trunk or treat.  Callum made quite a haul and they had a fun time.  Callum, I'm not sure what to think of your new hair due.  WOWSERS!  I loved these photos for Keelie's volleyball game.  She has played soccer since she was a tiny girl and now volleyball has stolen her heart.  Way to go Keelie!  I love the photo of this glorious sunset.  I've been in California and seen those fabulous sunsets.  Thanks for sharing!

Our Orem Thiots

This was a big week in Orem.  Miss Adelaide went to the orthodontist and had her pallet expander removed and traded that for braces.  She is so brave and not a complainer.  I'm so proud of your Adelaide.  You look great in your braces.  Guess what?  There is enough snow in the mountains for some fun in the snow.  The resorts are not open yet but you can sure have fun there.  Yes, it's cold but that doesn't seem to bother the Orem Thiot's.  I think they warmed up so long in LA that they are ready for the cold.  I loved Pierce and Stacy's Halloween costumes.  Mr. Pumpkin head and Stacy dressed up like the Pierce minus the beard.  Love it!

Our Upstairs Thiots

This was our weekend to have Elinor come.  WHAT FUN?  We  made a list of things we wanted to do.  1. Carve a pumpkin with a kitty on it. Sky did a great job  2. Paint a unicorn pumpkin  3. Eat corny dogs for lunch 4. Go to Trunk or Treat.  What fun we had all day long.  Elie and Graypa took a walk to Walmart and bought batteries to bring her unicorn game back to life and they had fun playing it.  Graypa said she kept tickling him with her cheetah tail and loved it when he carried her.  Sky was a great sport and wore the daddy cheetah costume and they were the fastest runners and had such fun at trunk or treat.  Sky did a great job painting on a little black nose and some whiskers on her daring face.  We had a game at our car and Elie preferred helping with the game after only trick or treating a few cars.  She said she had enough candy.  Smart girl.

We Plano Thiots

I loved this picture of this little gray cottage with a red door in the middle of autumn time.  I can just picture myself living there and loving all the leaves and never wanting to rake them away.  So pretty.  We've had some autumish temperatures this week and lots of wind.  Dick and I had fun filling bags with our favorite mix of popcorn cheddar and carmel and delivering it to our friends in our Self Reliance class.  We are quite spread apart and it made for lots of fun time together.  Thanks Dick for being my driver.  Our ward has aquired new missionaries.  We traded our 3 awesome Elders for 3 amazing sisters.  I've loved getting to drive them to a couple of appointments and stay at the lessons.  It  makes me excited for missionary work.  They are darling and kind girls.  Miss Elie could tell there was something special about them and even offered her favorite purple glow braclette to them.  That reallly said, I like you.  In our self reliance class on Sunday, we were invited to do a group service project.  I chose to ressurect our Preaching Fourth Newsletter for our ward missionaries.  What fun that has been for me to hear how they are all doing.  Here is the link if you want to take a peek.  http://preachingfourth.blogspot.com  Happy Halloween Everybody.  May you have a Boo-tiful day.

Happy 115th Birthday Grandpa Archie Brown

Sunday, October 24, 2021

October 24, 1906 in Centerville Utah, a baby boy was born to Henry Columbus Brown and Pearl Lavilla Duncan.  Archie was the oldest of 10 children.  He has five brothers, Jesse, Leo, Owen, James, and William, and four delightful sisters, Bertha, Afton, and twin sisters Ada and Ida.  What a great family.  Grandpa was only one year older than I am when he passed away October 14, 1971. He was a wonderful Grandpa and I miss him.  Happy 115th Birthday Grandpa! This is one of my favorite pictures with Grandpa.  He had won a certificate for a photo shoot at Auerbach's, and he picked Aunt Jerry, Aunt Bonnie and my sister Laurie and I to be in the picture with him.  I LOVE it!  I'm not sure how I could walk with that giant birds nest on my head.

 Our Mansfield Thiots

Our Mansfield Thiots take Halloween very seriously.  They have a group of friends that for the  past many years have a pre-Halloween costume party where awards are given, even trophies are presented.  It's not uncommon for the Mansfield Thiots to come home with the trophy.  This years costumes were awesome and very trophy worthy but someone in the group came as the Adams family and Cousin IT was the winner.  She had hair extensions and it was amazing.  I would have loved to have seen that.  I loved how our girls looked.  They each get to choose who they want to be and then Becky makes the magic happen with finding just the right costumes and hair and make up.  I loved this picture of them.  You are winners in Grammys book girls!

Our Medford Granges

Last weekend Jakes parents spoke in their home ward prior to departing for the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah and then on to Chile to serve for the next two years and a Senior Missionary couple.  What an exciting time this is for them.  It will be their third mission.  They are amazing and such a great example to all of us.  I'm excited for them.  This past Thursday there was a Senior Missionary Devotional which talked about all the opportunities there are for Senior Missionaries.  Dick and I are getting excited for that opportunity one day in the not to distant future we hope.

Our Folsom Thiots

When Ewan turned ten on the 17th, that brought our families total of TEN year olds to 3.  Callum, Penny and now Ewan are 10.  Every year this happens that they all catch up for a few months together.  I love that.  They had fun celebrating and Lilly got to come home for the party too.  Hooray!  All the Folsom Thiots together.  This week Callum got to have book character day at school.  I love the shirt Charlie made him of Harry Potter to wear.  Way fun! Folsom has finally been getting some much needed rain this week.  Hooray for prayers answered.  It's been such a mighty dry summer that this rain has been welcomed.  Charlie said they took a ride to the lake to see how it's filling up.  Hooray!

Our Orem Thiots

Last week was fall break for Adelaide and Jackson and it worked out perfectly for a trip to go see Pierce's buddy who was opening in a comedy club in New York.  Pierce had done his posters for the opening and invited him to come.  Oh what a lot of fun they packed into their week.  I loved getting the travel report from Adelaide and Jackson on Saturday morning.  They went to a Color factory, a Slime factory,  took a Space travel journey, saw the biggest and best toy store in all the world, went to the Lego store, ate the best meat balls three times, had the funnest baby sitter while their parents got to go to Saturday night live, Pierce still hasn't removed his bracelet as you can see in the bottom photo.  Jackson loved eating double decker ice cream and riding the underground subway.  The airplane ride was a favorite part too.  Oh my goodness, it was almost as fun as being there hearing all about it and thanks for the pictures.

Our Upstairs Thiots

Have you ever been to a trampoline park called Urban Air?  You have to purchase special socks that have really good grippers on the bottom and it is so much fun.  Each Wednesday afternoon, Sky and Elie have a date and for 3 hours they get to have an adventure.  Sky says it is the best three hours of his whole week and he looks forward to planning something fun for the two of them to do together.  Urban Air was this weeks adventure.  Some weeks it's the Library which is super fun and has a craft room open that you can  make what ever your heart desires.  The weather has been making trips to the park enjoyable too and a lemonade is always on Elie's wish list.  Such fun you two. This weekend Skyler was gifted by his buddy Matt a trip to Austin for the Formula 1 race.  Skyler used to love NASCAR in his younger days and now he has grown into loving Formula 1 racing.  Austin is hosting a race this weekend and he was thrilled to get to go.  Can't wait to hear all about it.

Fall is my favorite time of the year.  Dick says Spring is his favorite as the temperatures are about the same but your have SUMMER to look forward to when it's nice and HOT which he loves.  I love the colors of fall and I've seen a few autumn leaves starting to turn.  YES!
I loved this picture of Little Miss Hazel Lily Birks Siblings peeking into the window at the hospital to see their new sister.  So sweet!  I understand Miss Hazel really likes the night time and likes to be held and cuddled all night.  Oh Miss Hazel, I wish I was close by and could come cuddle you so your mama and daddy could sleep a little more.
This is my dad's baby Sister.  She had her knee replaced this last week and is a champ.  She is staying at St. Joseph's rehab for another few days and then will head home.  She's a trooper and I love that little pumpkin candy dish my sister took to her.  She was thrilled.
My brother Ric and his sweet wife Kathy, took a trip to Pocatello Idaho for the open house of the new temple there.  Oh that made me smile.  Chandler lives pretty close to that temple and he and his family got to go too.  I love temples!
Besides loving temples, I also love laundry! I've got friends who have all been sick this week and her washer is also sick.  She let me come pick up her laundry and bring it home and have "Loads of fun" washing and folding their clothes.  Nothing could have made me happier.
Unless it was finding a plate of spooky cupcakes on my front porch.  Oh my goodness, those tasted as good as they look! Thank you Lujean!  How I love you!
I also love these two smiling faces.  Ricky found this fun photo and shared it this week.  My two bookends, the oldest and the youngest.  Love these two who are still Texas guys!
Patricia Polacco is one of my favorite authors.  She has written over 50 children's books and I love each one I have read.  This one touched a special place in my heart.  I went to visit my friend Jill in her new home this week and we read it together, Sky and I had lunch together one day and he read it to me.  It's about a Grandma who came from Russia, I knew Sky would love it and he did too.  He even found me the authors address and I got to write her a note and mail it to her thanking her for sharing her great talents with the world.
I have another favorite author named Linda Chism.  Linda is a member of our Life Story Writers group and she is a published author.  This is her latest book that just came out this month.  She delivered me a copy and I loved reading it.  She has a gift for bringing history to life.  I love her books and I love her.

I also love these two little girls.  These are Elie's friends Evie and Ella.  Their parents went to the temple on Friday night and guess who was lucky enough to tend them while they were gone.  ME! We had fun, they love taking a bubble tubby  and they love ready Halloween stories together.  Not too scary but fun Halloween stories.  It was a sweet night with them.  I also loved getting to deliver Food4Kids to two elementary schools this week.  My neighbor and friend Sharon came with me.  We enjoyed our time together.

We Plano Thiots

Dick was invited to golf in the BYU Management Society's golf tournament.  He won the prize for hitting the ball the furthest.  I was sure proud of him.  He had a great time.  The rest of the week was a little crazy as the server and firewall at the Colo went down.  I'm not sure what that means exactly, but I can tell you it is NOT good.  He was able to locate a replacement and with Billy's help, get things going again.  Way to go Dick!  Dick got to proctor the Ham Radio License test on Saturday afternoon, the only bad part was it was right during the BYU Football game.  They won even without Dick being there.  I did check in on the fourth quarter, that's about all the football I can stand.  Tonight is our 9th week of our Finding Strength in the Lord, Emotional Resilience Class.  It's been a great experience getting to facilitate this class.  I've improved at being able to share videos over zoom and have learned to break us into smaller groups too without loosing anybody.  WHEW! Last week will be our final week.  Then we have the rest of our lives to practice what we have learned.  I hope you've had a good week and that you know how loved you are.  SLY Robynn
