Our Mansfield Thiots
Ricky's family headed east to Pensacola Florida to visit Nana and Papa, Becky's parents who have recently moved there. They are staying for several weeks. Ricky drove out with them and then flew back home for work and then flew back this past Friday to drive them back home today. They will just have a couple of days before they fly out to Salt Lake to spend the July 24th Weekend there with Pierce's Family. I've heard a rumor that Charlie's family may be driving out from California to meet up with them. Oh what a fun time that will be. Stay tuned for more pictures from the beach.
Our Medford Granges
Tatia's family has had a fun few weeks too. They left Medford on June 31stt and Jake drove them to Salt Lake to attend Adelaide's Baptism and the Birks Family Reunion. They were going to leave early Thursday morning but were all ready the night before and decided to pull an all nighter where the kids could sleep most of the drive. They surprised us by arriving at 10:30 AM instead of in the PM. We loved it. Aunt Lani had everything ready for them to stay with her and what a fun hostess she is. Dick and I also stayed there and we had lots and lots of fun together. Jake had to be back to work on Monday, so he left early Sunday morning on a flight back to Medford and I got to drive home with them on Wednesday. I think Tatia would have been fine on her own, but I couldn't resist when she invited me to come along. I got to spend the next week with them in their home and loved being surrounded with lots of loving grandchildren. The time went by quickly and when it was time for me to come home on Wednesday, Miss Penny came with me to spend a week in Texas and then Graypa will take her back home on Tuesday evening when he goes to Medford to spend a few days. He's been wanting to go to Crater lake and it looking forward to that.
This photo taken on July 4th a few years ago. I loved all the guys standing on tippy toes trying to be as tall as Charlie who was not the oldest, but was the tallest.
Our Folsom ThiotsCharlie has been busy with quarterly reports and Keelie has been off to girls camp. Callum even had a few days being an only child at home which he enjoyed and loved going to the water park with Charlie and Jen. Jen's kids are in Utah visiting their dad and so it's been a different few weeks. They had fun making some new tie dyed red white and blue 4th of July t-shirts and Callum came in 2nd place in the neighborhood 5 K race he joined. What a fun few weeks. I loved this photo of Keelie when she came home from camp holding their dog Winnie who has really grown. Not so much a little puppy anymore. Grow Winnie Grow!
Our Orem Thiots
On our way to Utah, I snapped a photo out the window when I thought we were flying over Orem, Utah. I sent it to Pierce and sure enough he was able to find their house in the picture. We loved spending time with our Orem Thiots. Dick got to sneak in a round of golf with my cousin Steve Borget who is really good. Dick loved it. I loved getting to say a quick Hi to Aunt Darlene and Uncle David when we picked Dick up. So good to see them. I loved getting to go to Build a Bear with the kids and watching them each make a darling new stuffy. I even got to record a message to put into their stuffy's paws. Thanks for taking me Orem Thiots. We had my favorite Taco Time burritos for lunch and then I got to watch them have hair cuts. I loved being in their home with them. Pierce and Stacy let us borrow their car while we were there and it is a magical car. We enjoyed getting to drive it. Thanks so much. Pierce and Dick planned a kayak trip on the Provo River and they both LOVED it. But the highlight of our trip was to be able to attend and witness the baptism of Adelaide Elizabeth Thiot on July 2nd. Dick and I got to visit with Adelaide about the ordinance of Baptism and the important decision she had made to be baptized. That was an experience I will treasure forever. We loved watching her enter the waters of baptism in the swimming pool of friends which looked out over the Provo valley and we could see the beautiful lake and my favorite view was the angel Moroni on top of the Provo Temple. It was wonderful. Pierce did a great job and Adelaide was so sweet dressed in Gigi's special dress. Pierce and Stacy hosted a lovely dinner in their home afterwards and I was so glad we could be there. Tatia's family did a great job of representing all the Thiots who wished they were there too.
Our Upstairs Thiots
Skyler and Elinor packed as much fun into their last few weeks as they could too. Lots of swimming time and train rides and bike rides. Trips to the Zoo and the Aquarium and the perot museum. The past few days have been especially fun as Miss Penny has been here to enjoy time with them too. She loved going to the Aquarium and the Perot and the Build Bear and the American Girl Store. Sky took Penny to Six Flags over Texas on Saturday as Graypa and I had an invite to an anniversary party of some friends. They ended up going earlier in the day and road a few fun rides and played some games where Penny was thrilled to have won a giant sloth. Not sure how that's going to go home on the plane. She said she will figure it out. Tomorrow Ricky's girls are planning on coming to spend the day with us. We can hardly wait.
Chip and Elycia's twins Devan and Paige were baptized on July 10th. We weren't able to attend but saw them at the reunion and got to hug themI loved getting to see my uncle Mike. He came over to Lani's on Sunday to enjoy some birthday pie with us. It's always good to see him.
I loved Dad's 1966 Chevelle that was the centerpiece for the party. It made us all smile thinking of 66
We Plano Thiots
We have had a very fun month of July and it's not over yet. I loved getting to be at the Birks Family Reunion. It had been 3 years since we had had so many of us together. I loved seeing the new babies who have joined our family and missed those who couldn't be there. Families are the BEST! Our Family turned 66 on June 3rd so our family reunion was a big birthday party. Ric and Kathy hosted the party and their neighbor shared his lovely swimming pool. It was a very fun afternoon.
