Happy Birthday Addison

What a wonderful day it was 12 years ago when Addison joined our family.
She made Brooklyn a Big Sister and she has been a great one.

We loved getting to go see her on her birthday.  Elinor adores her cousins and loved jumping on the trampoline with them.
Happy 12th Birthday Addie Mae!  How we all LOVE YOU!!!

Our Mansfield Thiots

This was girls camp for Becky, Brooklyn and Addison.  Harper and Ricky were partners this week.  Everyone had a great week.  We are counting the days to Addison's 12th Birthday coming on Tuesday! Happy Early birthday Addie Mae!

Our Medford Granges

These two darling babies turned 18 months this week and went for their 18 month check up at the doctors office.  They both received glowing report cards and are doing great.  I loved this picture Tatia snapped of them waiting for the doctor to come in.

Our Folsom Thiots

It's Folsom Days this week and the Folsom Thiots loved getting to celebrate with their new Home Town.  Parades always bring smiles to faces.

Our Orem Thiots

Today is Pierces 35th Birthday. What a blessing he has been to our family and how we love him and his family.  Happy Birthday PJ!

Our Upstairs Thiots

Sky and Elinor have both had colds this week so lots of creative ideas to keep Elie happy indoors.  She did get her very first swim lesson on Monday with Cathy Taylor.  She taught her the Starfish float and that putting your face in the water can be fun.  She really enjoyed it and we can't w ait until she if feeling better to have a few more lessons.

We Plano Thiots

Dick is working double time to meet some important deadlines of June 30th.  We haven't seen a lot of him this week, but we did have a date to go hunt for fireflies and a strawberry Jamming Party making Jam.  He is a great partner at Jam making. One of the highlights of my week was taking lunch to a fun group at he Wednesday Showers in Plano.  A group brings portable showers for homeless people who can come shower and get a new set of clothes and have lunch.  My Friends Marsha and Diane and I got to make lunch for them.  I loved these Crispy Patriotic Pops we tucked into their patristic lunch bags.  I loved painting flags on their bags.  It was good to spend time with them on Wednesday.

Happy Heaven Day Mom

Saturday, June 26, 2021

June 26, 2021 marked seven years since my sweet Mom took the Highway to heaven.  I've missed her everyone of those days in seven years.  The first year, my sweet neice had the idea to make Gram's Heaven Day a special day where you could do service for someone else, or do something to think about her on June 26th each year.  I have loved carrying out that tradition and this year was pleased that many in our family wanted to do it too.  Here are some photos I received.
Tatia sent this photo of she and Gram riding the UTA bus.  I love this picture of the two of them.

I love that Tatia painted her front door pink and her front porch with pinks like Gram loved too
I offered to tend Evie and Ella, Elies friends while their parents were blessed to attend the temple.
I loved Ella grabbing Evies hand while a scary part in the movie came on.  Such sweet sisters.  Mom loves her sisters so much.  I knew she would love these two little sisters.
Miss Penny made dragon flies from pony beads and loved making a pink on to think about Gigi
Such pretty Dragon Flies

I loved this picture Charlie sent me of Gram photo bombing him and Jamie!  She adored those two.

I've loved having Mom's bride doll that she made in the living room with her beautiful furniiture there.   I love to sit in there and think about her and have conversations with her.  Happy Heaven Day Mom!

Happy Week of Fathers!

Sunday, June 20, 2021

Our Family has a text message group that we can share messages to each other during the week.  This week we called it the Week of Fathers. Each day, we spotlighted a different Dad and made them the Official Dad of the Day.  What fun it was to look at all the photos we could collect and enjoy remembering all those great days.  I thought it would be fun to save them in Our Thiot Times.  This is it. Kind of a random order, but Dick was wonderful to help me get them onto the blog.  Happy Fathers Day!

Bonus A Brother to Visit

Last week my brother Ric texted me and said he might be coming through Dallas and wondered if he could stop by for a visit.  We were all excited and then his plans fell through.  This week we got the same message only the plans did not fall through.  He was driving to Little Rock Arkansas to pick up a VW Bus he had purchased.  Who would have known anyone would drive so far to buy an UGLY Bus.  Ric LOVES these UGLY busses and it was so fun to get to see him.  He arrived on Wednesday and we just wove goodbye to him an hour or two ago.  We loved having him here.  We packed in quite a lot of fun while he was here.
1. Dinner at El Fenix with Ricky's family and Skyler and us.  Wednesday night enchiladas are wonderful
2.  He drove to Little Rock to pick up the bus on Thursday morning.  It took longer than he thought with road construction and other delays.
3. He worked on cleaning out his Bus, removed the carpets and a lot of dirt and mouse droppings.  Did you know that Mice love leaving in Buses that are parked for 20 years?
4. Skyler and Ric went to the George Bush Presidential Library on Friday while I served in the temple.  Ric loved it and had his picture taken in the Oval office in Pres. Bush's chair. We loved stopping by to see Cousin Pammy and guess who was there?  Her Daddy was there visiting.  It was so great to see Uncle Mike and get to give him a hug!  Best day ever!
5. Saturday he worked some more on the bus in the morning and WD40 my front door knob and guess what? It works much better.  Thanks Ric!
6. We got to attend the Matinee of Harpers performance in FROZEN on Saturday.  She was an amazing troll.  Cutest one there.  We loved watching her sing, LET IT GO!!
7. We found and reunited with an old missionary friend of Ric's and also the best man at our wedding.  Sergio Paredes.  What fun that was to put that story together.  Loved our Saturday night seeing him and his darling wife. We took our wedding pictures to share and Marianne noticed the resemblance of my dad to Ric.  I love that.  It was like having a bit of dad with us here this week.  Dad used to love to go on these road trips with Ric.  He loved to drive too and see the country.
8. Ric slept on our couch and was a very great house guest.  I loved that I got to do his laundry for him and fix him an occasional meal.  We loved when he treated us to delicious Taco Delight Salads on Friday night.  Yum!
What a great week of Fathers.  I hope you have had a good one too.  SLY Robynn
