 Our Mansfield Thiots

Our Medford Granges

Charlie had two buddies over for a play date this week.  Tatia's friend Rachel has twins the same age as our Charlie boy.  Their mom needed a little time off and Tatia invited her kids to come and play.  Charlie loved having them over for lunch and to play with his toys.  A good time was had by all.

The best news in Medford this week is that we have a walking girl.  Miss Gracie has decided it's time to give it a try.  So at 16 months and 2 days old.  She did it!  She's been watching Simon was for several months and just wasn't too impressed as she would see him fall and bonk his beautiful head.  She must have thought the knee game was safer.  But she changed her mind this week and is doing it so cute.  I wish I knew how to put videos on the blog as you too would love watching her in action.  Max put one of his baptism stickers on her forhead and she did not want it removed.  Perhaps max gave her some of his super power in his sticker and helped her balance better to walk.  Go Gracie!!!!

Charlie and Keelie went to meet Jen's parents to pick up little Red.

Everyone is in love with her.  She's a perfect fit into the Folsom Thiot's hearts

I want to introduce you to our newest family member.  Please welcome Winifred (Red) Thiot into our family.  Jen and Charlie have adopted a dog and there family couldn't be happier.  Jen's Mom gave her thumbs up on this new family member.  Little Red is darling and we are so happy for you to have a puppy.  Much happiness is coming your way.

Adelaide and Pierce took a field trip to Uncle Jeff's house this week.  If you are ever in the mood to snuggle up with dogs and cats, Jeff and Jenn's home is the place to go.  Adelaide really liked this cute little guy and he liked her too.  Thanks for sharing your furry babies with her Jeff and Jenn. Adelaide had her first dance performance this week.  Again, I wish I could share video.  She did great and we are all so proud of her sweet dancing skills!  Way to Go Adelaide!

Our Upstairs Thiots

We had rainy afternoon when the kitties were so interested in watching the rain.  I loved seeing them in the window and had to snap their picture.
Elie had a cold this week and just needed some snuggle time with her daddy in front of the fireplace.  It's not often that she holds still enough to snuggle, so it was a sweet experience for us all.
Preschool has been talking about patterns and Elie was so happy to make some fun patterns with the colored craft sticks.  I always love to watch how her brain is working.  So amazing.

Since I hadn't put my suitcase away yet, Elie found that with a pillow inside and a cozy blanket, it made for a nice little bed to watch Elinor Wonders Why, a cute show on PBS TV that she likes.  I like it too and I loved seeing this cute girl all cozied up.

My Darling Niece Carissa, added a new baby girl to her family this week.  On April 20th little Nora Mae joined the family making Thea a big sister.
I love the bow hats the hospital makes to put onto little baby girls.

I loved seeing Thea hold her new baby sister.  She looks like she is in love with this sweet little girl.
My mom has two more great granddaughters being baptized this summer.  Tatia has been busy painting baptism dolls for them just like my mom loved to make for the girls turning 8.
I adore their darling dresses and the pretty white dove in their arms representing the gift of the Holy Ghost.  Beautifully done Tatia! Thank you for being Grams hands for her.
Dick and I were invited to participate in a Pioneer Day Activity our Stake Primary hosted on Saturday.  I loved finding this photo in a picture frame I wanted to put a photo of Joseph Smiths family in.  I remember this day just a few years ago, 42 to be exact when we went to Trolley Square to have an old fashioned photo made.  I wanted to use it for our Wedding Announcements but  my mom said PLEASE Don't!  I have always loved it and I sure love that handsome man I'm standing beside.
I got to be Sophronia Smith and answer the children's questions about her. 1. How are you related to Joseph Smith?
I showed the children the smith family picture.  I was Sophronia, the oldest daughter.  Joseph was born after me, So I was Joseph's big sister.  I loved telling the story about one night when Joseph was needing a safe hiding place for the golden plates and he tucked them into bed with me.  Oh my goodness, what a fun story that was to tell the children.  How I got to sleep with the golden plates one night.  It makes me look forward to the day when I will meet Sophronia in heaven and can ask her more questions. I loved playing her part.

The stake Primary gave the children a take home treat.  It was a salt lake temple cookie.  They baked 150 of those cookies. You got to bring it home to frost and sprinkle it.     I've baked those temple cookies before but NEVER 150 of them.  YIKES! That takes a lot of love to bake that many temples.
Dick was invited to represent the 3 witnesses to the Book of Mormon.  He did a great job and loved talking to the kids who came and asked him about his experience in being a witnesses to the Book of Mormon.  What a great way to share his testimony of the Book of Mormon too.  After he was done, he got to take the Big Red Truck and help deliver more mulch for the Boy Scouts.  He loved doing that and then got to play golf in the afternoon.  What a great Saturday it was this week. After a very crazy week, it was most deserved.  I hope you all survived your weeks and that you are looking forward to a good upcoming week.  Sly Robynn

Our Mansfield Thiots
Ricky and Becky have spent this past week in beautiful Hawaii with some good friends.  Thier friends mama had a time share condo that she was not able to use and offered it to them and they invited the Mansfield Thiots to join them.  They didn't have to think about it twice and booked a flight to Hawaii.  They both love Hawaii and have had such a nice relaxing week.  The girls got to stay with Nana and Papa and have also had a wonderful week.  They have a layover in LA this morning and are going to go to Pierce and Stacy's home to rest up before coming home.  I hope they getout the giant water slide and have a blast!ALOHA!!!

A friend recommended this book to me several months ago.  I put it on hold at the library and totally forgot about it until the library called and said on a recorded message that I had a book on hold for me.  When I picked it up, I was excited to read it as I happen to love a sweet Granddaughter who shares the  name Brooklyn with the city in New York.  It was a different kind of book than I have read before, but the more I think about it, the more I like it.  I love to have a good book when I'm traveling as it makes airplane flight go by much faster.  I would recommend this one to you too.

Our Medford Granges
On February 8th, very early in the morning, Dick and I were dropped off at the airport by our Uber driver Skyler.  We were so excited to be heading to Medford, Oregon to be there for Maxwell James Grange's Baptism into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Our flight left right on schedule and we arrived in Phoenix for a few minutes before the final leg of our flight to Medford.  It's always fun to travel with Dick as he is such a seasoned traveler, he makes everything seem easy and always fun.
We landed a bit early and were picked up by Tatia and her three littles; Charlie, Simon and Gracie.  We were thrilled to see them, and poor little Simon was scared to pieces by us.  He cried and cried and Graypa was sitting by them and he was having a bit of stranger danger.  Not to worry, it didn't take long before he warmed right up to Graypa.  What fun we were in for in Medford.  Tatia is always such a fun hostess and had planned yummy menus and had everything ready for a wonderful weekend.
This photo was taken on Sunday morning when we had everyone, making the More in Medford, the Merrier.  Liam, who is a teenager, opted to sleep instead of be in the family photo.  We had such a good time.  I want to do a separate post on the baptism.  Such a special day.

Our Folsom Thiots
On Sunday afternoon, Charlie sent me an e-mail with the ZOOM link for their Sacrament Meeting.  You see, Sister Jen Thiot was the speaker and he got the great idea at the last minute to invite us to join them and get to hear her speak.  Jen is a wonderful speaker that I got to hear at her sweet Grandmothers funeral a few months ago.  It was an extra special treat to get to hear her speak in Sacrament meeting.  She was asked to speak about Elder Renlunds talk from General Conference where he spoke about unfairness in this life.  Jen shared some very tender experiences in her life where life has seemed so unfair and how the Lord has reached out His mighty hand to bless her.  I truly feel that the Lord has blessed our family to have brought Jen, Lilly, Liam and Ewan into Charlie's life and in turn into ours.  How we love them and how grateful we are for her good influence on our family.  Thanks for inviting us to Sacrament Meeting Charlie.

I LOVED these pictures Charlie sent of he and Ewan and Liam flying a kite this weekend.  Oh my goodness, how I love to fly kites.  When my dad was so sick, we watched Mary Poppins and when the kite flying scene came on, Dad was singing right along with Let's Go Fly a Kite.  That's when I had the idea to send kites to all his great grandkids and have them decorate them for him.  We had so many kites flying in either in person or in the mail.  We hung them all over his sliding door and closet door.  I know they helped him feel their love for him.  Each time I see a kite, I think of dad and all his kites.  Let's Go Fly A Kite!

We got a phone call from Pierce and Stacy's family on Sunday afternoon with a question.  They were at the Cemetery where my parents are buried and were trying to find their grave.  They were very close and Dick was able to get a map and circle where he knew the grave side was.  I have always gone with either Dick or my sisters when I've gone and I always worried if I would be able to find it.  They found it quickly after getting the map and it was so nice to be there with their family.
Adelaide and my mom share a very special connection.  They were only together on this earth for a short time togetther, but Adelaide has a remarkable memory.  She has a photo of Gigi that she keeps in her room and she thinks about her often.  Sometimes she will call me and want me to tell her a gigi story.  I love to share stories with her.

One of the treasures Adelaide has from Gigi, is a warming pillow.  Its filled with rice and you can pop it in the  microwave and it warms up.  It can comfort you when  you are feeling sad and make you feel better.  When she went to the cemetery yesterday, she wanted to take it with her.  I love this picture of her laying her sweet head on the pillow and laying right by their grave.
Stacy packed a picnic and they sat under a nice tree and had lunch with Gigi and Grandpa Great.  I don't know anything that could have made me happier.

Thanks for sharing these tender pictures with me.  I'm sure Gigi and Grandpa great were smiling up in heaven.

When it came time for Tatia to make an invitation for Max's baptism, she asked Sky for some help to design it just like she had imagined.  He did a great job and Stacy's printer made them look so awesome.  Tatia has wanted Sky to come for a visit to Medford for a while now.  Sky's scheudle worked out that he could come for the baptism.

Skyler was a hit.  All my boys have a funny thing where they want to be the favorite Uncle.  It seems that whoever is there at the time, get's that title.  Sky was certainly fun and entertained all 10 little grandkids that were there.  They all loved him.  He was a balloon master, a polar bear swim master, a hiking master, you name it, he made it more fun.  I'm so glad he could come.  I wish he could have brought Elinor with him too.  Next time for sure.  She would have LOVED being with all those cousins, especially Charlie boy who is closest in age to her.  They love each other.

Saturday was a great day for Dick Thiot.  He was not feeling his best as he's caught an awful cold, but when it comes to Boy Scouts and Service, Dick is ALWAYS up for helping.  He borrowed Mister Bobby's big Red Truck and rented a UHAUL trailed and off they went to deliver LOTS and LOTS of  mulch to those good folks who ordered it from them.  Dick and Sky made the website to take the orders and what fun they scouts had making all those deliveries.  LOTS and LOTS of mulch and there are so many yard that are looking much better thanks to their good efforts.  I think Dick likes driving that big red truck and he loves pulling and backing up tailers.  He has a real gift for that.  way to go Boy Scouts.  The sells will help many of them go to scout camp this summer.  Wahoo!

There is something bad about getting behind on the Thiot Times.  I've got so many photos and Dick helped me download a bunch yesterday.  I want to keep them all as part of our family journal and it may take me some time to get caught up.  My friend Judy caught up her blog yesterday and so I see that it can be done.  It's been a wonderful week being in Oregon with Tatia's family.  She is so busy with her daling family.  It was fun to be there to lend an extra pair of helping hands to the fun.  I'll share all that fun another day too.  They dryer is chiming, time for another load.  Sure love you, Robynn
